Traditional oak framing We are specialists in the construction of hand crafted, bespoke oak timber frames working in both traditional and contemporary styles. Based on the Wiltshire/Somerset boarder we design and construct all manner of timber frames including: Complete Oak Framed Homes, Oak Conservatories and Extensions, Timber Carports, Conservation and Historical Carpentry, Timber Engineering, Pergolas and Balconies. We are always interested in challenging or interesting structural builds. The Traditional Carpenters have a flexible, highly skilled workforce meaning we can scale up or down depending on the size of your project. We always offer competitive prices, excellent customer care and most importantly, quality craftsmanship. Our work takes us all over the UK. From the moment we met Tom, we immediately warmed to him and knew that our barn was in the best hands. He was passionate about restoring our building and preserving as much of the timber as possible. Where repairs were required he did an outstanding job of scarfing the old and new oak together. The end result is simply stunning and we could not be happier. In addition, Tom designed and built our extension frame from green oak. We took his advice on some of the design elements and we were thrilled with the finished article. He is truly a master of his craft. Having used many tradesmen on our project (including other carpenters), we can say that Tom is the utmost professional. We initially paid him on a day rate basis, but not once did we have to worry about how much was being achieved. Tom, along with all the carpenters he brought with him, is friendly, approachable and completely trustworthy.

The Traditional Carpenters have been outstanding with their proactive appraoch to the project, the work rate to meet deadlines, and the overal quality of the work that's been completd. We would have absolutely no issues with recommending them for your project.
