I had the pleasure of working with Kathy on two projects recently and she did a fantastic job and provided the help and insight I needed. The first project was for a client of mine who is selling her home and wanted to freshen up the paint colors in the main living areas. Kathy took the lead on this and made suggestions that were excellent. My client did choose the colors Kathy suggested and it is amazing how a slight change in the color - from yellowy beige to gray beige - changed the whole look of the home. We couldn't be happier! The second project was for my personal home and Kathy worked remotely with me. Over a phone call and a couple of emails, we were able to coordinate colors to existing colors for my dining room. Kathy Yusiewicz, of Faux Home, was of incredible help to us when choosing colors for our newly purchased home. Once we had taken ownership, we had a short time frame in which to choose colors for every room in our house and get those colors to our painting team so they could begin our project within enough time for completion before we were to move in. The original plan had been to do a walk-through of the house together and work collaboratively to choose the best colors for each space. Unfortunately, with the onset of the Coronavirus and Stay-At-Home orders for NC occurring just before we were to meet, we were unable to have our face-to-face. Undeterred by this challenge, Kathy was still able to guide us while navigating this difficult moment. We emailed back and forth regarding color ideas and with inspiration photos. We coordinated for her to do a walk through of our house on her own and she left large-sized samples of color swatches taped up in each room, along with a color wheel for more options. Later, when I arrived to our house, Kathy and I were then able to discuss, by phone, the color options she left behind and we were able to talk through the pros and cons of each color. Additionally, she offered great tips on how to imagine the color choices by using online tools. Kathy was willing to go above and beyond to support this process for us and we are most grateful for her creative and collaborative approach during a very challenging and truly stressful moment. After searching through Houzz for a professional interior designer, I found Faux Home and reached out to Kathy. Kathy contacted me and within a week, we had met to discuss updating the interior paint colors and decor throughout our home. As the project moved forward, Kathy brought in her team member, Mary. Both ladies were extremely wonderful to work with and both are truly very talented. They brought everything together! Kathy helped me and my husband choose the perfect colors for the exterior of our home as well as both of our home offices. Before we hired Kathy, we had sampled two colors for the exterior and hated them both. Kathy found us just the right color in about 30 minutes! I dread doing things like this but working with Kathy, it was actually a fun process. I contacted Kathy Yusiewicz for help with selecting interior paint colors for my home. She helped me to select colors for two tricky rooms (1) an open plan living room with a vaulted ceiling, cut-away staircase, and brick fireplace that leads into a purple (!) kitchen and dining room and (2) a small, all-season room that has very different outdoor views depending on the time of year (lush greenery versus brown leafless trees and blue sky). Kathy seemed to know instantly what colors would work best for both rooms based on my interest in using neutral colors that would be good for resale. We worked through the process together to see how the colors that she selected would be optimal. It's been about two weeks since Kathy visited, and I still like the colors that were selected and I am so excited to get started with painting. I thought that Kathy was delightful and professional. To me, Kathy's visit was like getting to spend time with a really fun auntie who just so happens to be aces at picking out paint color. Kathy was great to work with. She is very personal and easy to get along with. She has a keen eye for color selections. My husband and I had spent several weeks looking for a color to go with our kitchen cabinets and counter. Kathy found the perfect color in 15 minutes! She spent about 2 hours with us, listening to our ideas. We chose all her selections and the house looks great. I highly recommend her.

I have worked with Kathy on multiple projects, most recently on paint and other color selections for 3 bathrooms we renovated. I wouldn't dream of painting anything in my house without consulting Kathy! She comes right to the house, listens to your ideas, makes suggestions and provides samples from her vast collection. She even sent me a package of large 8.5" x 11" paint samples to put on the walls so I could really evaluate the colors rather than make selections from tiny sample cards. I have used Kathleen Yusiewicz for significant faux painting projects in 2004 that included my dining room, powder room, kitchen backsplash and a large kitchen hutch. I have never worked with any designer with her eye for color who could also provide the service instead of recommending someone else to execute the plan. After moving to another home, I employed Kathy to help me in selection of colors for painting the powder room and accent wall in the large living room. Then she helped me give the home a fresh look by relocating artwork and furniture throughout the house in 2015/2016.
