Erin Melkonian meticulously envisions interiors with a fashion forward aesthetic. Erin Challenges the idea of what is standard, and pushes the boundary of beauty with her uniquely designed interiors. From a very early age Erin’s passion for creativity and beauty was the driving force in the way she viewed her world. Her mother fostered her creative prowess by teaching her the basic skills of painting, drawing, knitting, and sewing. Erin graduated from University of San Diego with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Theology. Acknowledging her unending creative spirit, she endeavored into the all consuming world of Interior Design when she enrolled at Design Institute of San Diego. While Attending design school, Erin worked at an architecture firm. She was hired as a designer at a prestigious design firm in San Diego immediately following culmination of design school. The opportunity to join her cousins in their family business of real estate development was the catalyst for Erin’s move back to Fresno. In 2014, Erin founded her own firm, Erin Melkonian Designs. Since the inception of her company, Erin has collaborated with homeowners to bring their visions to life. She derives great joy in building relationships with her customers, and approaches each design journey with equal excitement and curiosity.

For interior decorating, they seem to do a great job but we were not impressed with the help we received for our kitchen remodel. For about three k, we received a mood board. I was told there was a lot of behind the scenes work that I didn't see in producing the mood board but the end result wasn't very helpful to me. During the process, it was difficult getting a call or email back from them. They said they were extremely busy. Waiting on them just slowed the whole process down for us. I would have continued working with them (by the hour) if their communication and kitchen expertise had been better. We ended up hiring another firm. In contrast, the other design team we are working with is helping us navigate which materials are best for us in terms of style, function and price. All three are integral in kitchen design, not just what looks pretty. I appreciate that they were willing to extend our contract much further out due to the pandemic. They seem to do a beautiful job at interior decorating but kitchen design is a different skill set and I didn't see that with the mood board I received.

I have worked with Erin Melkonian for many years, on many projects, from $1000 dollar area rugs to $60,000 dollar flooring projects. Million dollar homes, commercial projects as well. Not only is she an expert at what she does to the interior of a home, she is an amazing person with a big heart. I always look forward to doing projects with her. Erin designed spaces for our entire home that were the perfect combination of form and function. Erin is a joy to work with. Her passion for her craft is obvious in every project she completes.
