Beware of this group. They load up the costs and bundle the jobs so you don’t know exactly what you’re paying for. Then they “get busy” and blame the weather and are gone. We were told our job would be 2-3 months. We knew this was probably optimistic as it is a large project. We just didn’t know that 7 months later we still would not have a finished (or even started) pool, no lighting, no raised beds, no gates and some really ridiculous mistakes made because of lack of management. They built a wall around our olive tree which was almost twice the size as was on the plans. Brian shows up infrequently and when he does will say whatever you want to hear. The foreman was making decisions without input from Brian or ourselves. This resulted in many mistakes and delays. At this point they owe us quite a bit of money. We asked that they start on lighting before the pool was finished and they asked for an advance because they were out of money…We had already advanced too much and decided to terminate our contract. Unfortunately it looks like we will have to employ legal means to recover our money. Do NOT hire this guy!

I met Brian a few months back and I'm excited to continue working on projects with him and his company. Brian has a way-above average sense of professionalism, care and quality. His work as you can see on his website and his video he walks you through is some of the best around San Diego.

Elegant landscaping was an absolute find for me! The owner, Brian Pounce, is great to work with. He quickly understood our ideas and the look we wanted for our yard. Best of all, he made it happen efficiently and with great attention to detail. The results are fantastic! Brian's crew couldn't have been more competent and skilled, they are truly artistic craftsmen. Every person we interacted with during the project was gracious and went out of their way to make sure we were very happy with the work. Elegant Landscaping's estimate was very competitive with other quotes we received. Would definitely recommend Elegant landscaping!

We hired Brian and Elegant Landscape Inc. last year to redo our front deck and fence around our front yard. It was a great experience right from the get go - we got a call back the very same day and had Brian come out and do a site visit within the week, despite the busy season. We got a great price estimate and several options for what we could do within our budget. The deck and fence construction went great, with the contractors all finished the job with no cost or time overruns. They did a fantastic job and definitely added value to our house ! Brian was even willing to modify the project to add on a couple more small jobs we had around the property. The best part of working with Elegant Landscapes was how easy and prompt communication was. I had a direct line to Brian and he always got back to me within the day to address any questions or concerns I had. And we really appreciate that he took a few extra trips out of his own time to make sure that every bit of the job was completed properly. In addition to their excellent quality of work, we also really appreciate their professionalism and customer support ! Highly recomment for anyone in the San Diego area, and would definitely use again.

I am enjoying my complete backyard renovation built by Elegant Landscape. The team was so easy to work with and listened when I had any concerns or changes. Very hard workers especially on days when it was really hot and my soil is like hard dried clay. There was a concerted effort to make things right for us not just “get it done”. I appreciate the quality of work and the attitude of the whole team. Would definitely recommend them to friends.

Project Scope: concrete patio, detached wood pergola, new irrigation for backyard lawn and existing slope, lawn (sod) installation, installation of plant material on existing slope and area surrounding installed concrete patio. Brian was courteous and responsive during the project. Once he received full payment for the project, he failed to respond to my concerns/questions/comments. The irrigation installed on the existing slope has failed to meet my expectations. I followed Brian's proposed watering schedule for the slope, and eventually replaced plant material at my own expense, but the soil conditions, installed irrigation, and slope grade isn't producing the results I expected after consulting with Brian and following his recommendations. The hardscape installation is satisfactory, but I don't believe Brian has the expertise to adequately address landscape/irrigation issues, and don't believe he is truly interested in achieving "complete satisfaction" of his customers.

Elegant Landscape did the backyard for our new home. We are thrilled with how it turned out! There were some issues during the process but Brian listened to our concerns and made every effort to make things to our satisfaction.

When I started to plan my paver project, I did not know where to begin. I saw Brian's ad in my mail box and gave him a call. He came to see my project and promptly gave me a bid. Looking to get competitive offers, I was shocked when other contractors would never show up, or send me a written bid. Some did not want to do the work because accessing my back yard was a bit more labor intensive. He was patient until I decided what I wanted, promptly gave me updated bids and finished the project on time. When I had a concern, he went the extra step to be sure I was happy. He was good at communicating and his workmen were pleasant too. The few bids I received were competitive, but what won him the business was his service, professionalism, follow up and "can do" attitude.

Our experience with Brain and the crew was wonderful. they did a fabulous job of our lawn and we have received so many compliments on it. We could not have been happier, we would recommend them to anyone. On time, sticks to his pricing and they clean up every night before the crew goes home. Just LOVED the work.
