I highly recommend Karla! This year I set out to reno my rather large and very dated master bathroom - which is intimidating - but Karla took me through each step from concept to contracting the various professionals to the last detail of decor. Karla drew up a lovely floorpan while making ideal use of the space (see before/after pics). I had set a budget but when Karla took me to an impressive plumbing outlet and tile store to make selections, it was easy to gravitate to the most pricey options. She gently suggested similar selections that were in my price range. Even so, the tile installers said - this is amazing tile, Karla REALLY knows what she’s doing. Karla then provided decor options that took my bathroom to a different level of sophistication including custom vanities and fabulous chandeliers and mirrors. Throughout the process Karla was meticulous with an unparalleled worth ethic. I feel lucky to work with a talent like her. She listens to your requirements and understands your esthetic. And I love that she gets just as excited as I do when we see a project come together! She’s one of a kind.

I have been working with Karla for almost 4 years now and can tell you that we work very well together. Our home is lovely, but it needed a designer who understands how to bring out the features that were hidden in this home. Karla was very thorough in making sure that she had obtained the exact paint colors, so that the suggestions she made would be appropriate for my dinning room. I was so pleased with her performance that I hired her to help design and decorate a major construction and expansion project that we are doing in our home in Florida. This encompassed developing the plans for the construction with the builder and architect and overseeing and participating in all the selections we made for about 75% of the house being reconstructed. Karla created a show stopper of an apartment. People love to visit, as they are enthralled with the excitement of my beautiful home.I have large quilted bone panels for my living room walls and hand painted red faux goatskin walls in my den. the carpet has a zebra,path through the living room into the den on an angle, as the two rooms are connected without any wall. The den has red built - in TV unit to match the goat skin (which is painted on canvas. There is a custom made black lacquered credenza with silver deco trim in the living room. we put up dropped ceilings in a lovely swirl, as we cannot put any lighting from the ceiling because of the cement.

Karla helped us to renovate our new home which has not been updated since the 1940s.. The house sat on the market for over a year because it was hard to visualize anything but small, dark, choppy rooms. It is now a bright, open and beautiful space that is unrecognizable to what it was before. Karla designed a state of the art kitchen suitable for a professional chef. She designed cabinetry in unique spaces that typically would be dead space. From hardware and light fixtures to custom cabinetry and wall removal, everything was designed and executed beautifully.

I hired Karla Trincanello (Interior Decisions) when we decided to re-do our Master Bedroom and needed help. She was able to give us exactly what we were looking for in terms of color, furniture and accessories. We needed guidance and we got so much more! I discovered Karla's work at The Mansion in May when her room took my breath away! I had been looking to do window treatments for a large window area overlooking a lake and had been taking my time waiting to find the right person because making a mistake in that area was not an option! The room Karla designed had the most incredible window treatments!! You could see through them yet they fit the room perfectly and were stunning. we reside in an older gracious home that was in need of a major Master bedroom/bathroom renovation. we were restricted to the use of the existing space. Karla listened carefully to our needs and submitted a plan that was both beautiful and functional. It was delightful to work with someone so experienced and knowledgeable. Karla is very hardworking and always there to handle questions or concerns you may have as things develop. Karla's standards are very high and she strives to give her clients that experience.

I have worked with Karla Trincanello on at least 4 major home renovations over the past 20 years and have recommended her to friends who hired her and they recommended her to other friends and family. She has always done a wonderful job, leaving us all with inspired, livable and unique interiors that take into consideration our specific style, interests and budget. Most recently I hired Karla to help me with some major and minor upgrades to my house which we didn't get to, when I worked with her 7 years ago. These new renovations include: hardwood floors in the living room, dining room, foyer and a redesign with hardwood of the stairs to the second floor. Karla and her staff are wonderful to work with. They are very creative, always tuning in to the homeowner's preferences and always responsive, calm, helpful and professional. Karla has many years of experience and understands design and architecture from the inside out. This makes for NO mistakes because the material does not suit the environment or the space was not measured properly. In addition, Karla has access to a wealth of top notch contractors and suppliers in all fields that she has selected based on their skill, quality and professionalism. This again leads to a wonderful end result with NO bad surprises along the way. In previous projects with Karla, we have redone a horrible 1970’s master bath with a jetted tub to a spa like bath with a beautiful walk in shower and all the sprays, hidden shelves for towels and supplies and a marble seat with handheld shower. The tile design and layout are beautiful and Karla was creative and actually was able to reclaim space for the Master Bedroom to provide an alcove for a dresser, greatly enhancing that MB space too. Karla also did a major kitchen renovation for me, with beautiful cabinets, moldings, fixtures, floor, table and chairs and drapes. Karla is especially good at mixing favorite old pieces with new pieces that also stand the test of time. What you end up with is a room that suits you and is eclectic, elegant and timeless The end results of all my projects have been beautiful and enduring. The only regrets I have ever had were when I overruled her recommendation, for example, 20 years ago I wanted a fabric that Karla warned me would look gray not blue in the room and I insisted that we use it anyway (she was right). The hardwood floors I am putting in now, she recommended doing them 7 years ago. I insisted on carpeting and the selection was beautiful and still looks good, but I have been wishing for hardwood ever since and now I am putting it in, but it is much more difficult since I am living there then it would have been when she first recommended it. Other of Karla's recommendations, that I followed have stood the test of time and have proven to be remarkably flexible. The chandeliers, furniture, mirrors, lighting, shelving (even many of the drapes) moved easily into my new home with minor modifications. For this recent renovation, I am working with a wonderful contractor Karla arranged for, who is the same one who did much of the work in my house the last time. He and his team are wonderful to work with also, high quality, considerate, professional, quiet, neat, and very resourceful. When I have questions or don't understand something in contractor "speak", I can always get advice from Karla. All the suppliers and contractors hold her in very high regard as well and work hard and creatively to deliver quality work on time and within budget for Karla and her clients . Karla is always be candid and honest. She will work within any budget and scope constraints, but will be clear about what you are giving up and will come up with alternatives. I get into a project and then think of other things I would like to do. She is flexible about additions and changes, but will be candid about her thoughts and will and let you know when doing something for may be shortsighted. . If I sound glowing about Karla Trincanello and Interior Decisions, its because after many experiences with her and her firm, my enthusiasm and regard for her have only grown deeper. After closing on our newly purchased home my husband and I began the daunting process of redecorating. We contacted and interviewed almost all of the advertised decorators in the county. All the glitz sounded impressive but something was missing. A friend suggested we contact Karla at Interior Decisions Inc. We had read about her work in Interior Design magazines and awards given for her work by her peers (competitors) so we scheduled a meeting. My husband and I had specific ideas on the overall theme of our home. We felt comfortable with Karla from the beginning. She listened to what our goals were and made suggestions we never thought of. We started with one room. Karla gave us many options while still staying within our budget. WOW the results were gorgeous. Visiting friends and family loved our newly decorated room. We were sold so we continued redecorating and remodeling the entire house with Interior Decisions. What started as a small job resulted in redecorating and remodeling our Kitchen, Foyer, Dining Room, Master Bedroom, Master and Hall Bathrooms, Living Room, Sun Room, Media Room and even our front exterior. The professional service that Karla and her staff provided after carefully listening to our opinions was refreshing. In a few rooms we wanted to change the flow of the area. Karla suggested the redesigns and worked closely with our architect to achieve the beautiful end results. We were lucky to have met Karla and her staff. People from all walks of life just marveled at what she created in a tiny sunporch...Karla is a master of solving decorating problems and displays dedication and integrity while applying her craft....a truly talented, classy lady who is so easy to work with no matter what the project....

Karla is incredibly creative and has an amazing understanding of color and design. Although she has been the recipient of numerous industry awards and has had her work published in various magazines she still always listens to the homeowner and works to make her design reflect their individual needs and tastes. i have known Karla for more than 12 years. She turned my ranch house which i really did not like into a home I love. We just added on a second floor and Karla has been there with me every step of the way. She worked beautifully with my architect when it was on the drawing board to assure every detail was addressed from a design viewpoint. She listened my wants and needs as she does with every client. I personally know quite a number of people who have used Karla and every house is different. She has the unique and important quality to satisfy her clients. It never is about what Karla likes. She guides and allows her clients to accessorize in whatever way they like. Some houses are very contemporary while some are very traditional. My own home is country French. It takes a person of extreme talent to accomplish this. Karla is knowledgeable in the history of furniture and art. She is ultra organized, fair, understanding and kind. We hired Interior Decisions to turn our unfinished basement into a space we could use for entertaining as well as a place our kids could use with their friends. Karla and her staff are very knowledgeable and took all of our requests into consideration. She designed the ultimate "sports bar/man cave" which exceeded all of our expectations. The attention to detail is evident throughout her work. The media area houses 3 t.v.'s for viewing multiple sporting events simultaneously or simply watching a movie. The custom bar and conversation areas seat several guests comfortably. Storage areas were also created to help with organization. Karla and her staff created a beautiful multi-purpose living space which has become a focal point of our home and the envy of all of our friends!

Karla Trincanello is an amazing designer that I feel lucky to have had the opportunity to work with. Over the years I have worked with many designers and Karla stands out as a favorite. She tunes in to each client and creates a vision that is custom to that client's style and personality. This you can see by all the wonderful pictures of her work. What you don't see is her keen business sense that manages each project. This is where not all designers are created equal. When I worked on projects with her she was able to clearly communicate her vision and provided color pallette, inspiration, time lines and budget so that every last detail could be executed perfectly. A lot of time and money can be wasted if this is not done. I can't emphasize enough the value of hiring a qualified designer like Karla who has the ability to execute her designs seemingly effortlessly. I was spoiled to work with Karla early in my career and look forward to working with her again if I ever return to NJ.
