A wonderful and caring group. Their ideas are excellent and their execution is amazing. Betsy and Lynne added a bit of fun and unexpected elements that make a room interesting.

We had a great experience with Betsy and Lynne working together with them, our builder and other vendors for over a year while we were building a new beach house. They are not only responsive and communicative, but creative and full for wonderful design ideas. We have a home we love and enjoy everyday we are in it. People never come in without asking: "How did you do all this? It is sooooooo beautiful!" It is easy to tell them it would have not have been achieved without Betsy and Lynne. Betsy Bardi and Lynne Garguilo did a beautiful job in decorating my new adult community home at the Carolina Arbors in Durham. Getting Bardi Designs to help with our home renovation was the best decision that my husband and I could have made with regards to our house. Any home improvements we do in the future will involve Bardi Designs! She is the most professional, easy going, and positive person to work with when you are going through a home renovation. Her passion and creativity for interior design, the care for each client, and the hard work and effort she puts into each project is just top-notch! My husband and I bought a foreclosure home knowing that it was a fixer upper. At our first meeting together, Betsy got to know our likes and dislikes and I could automatically see her ideas starting to churn as she said our house has “good bones”. I gave her our contractor’s name and cabinet supplier and she took over and scheduled meetings and got our renovation started. I thought picking out counter-tops, back-splash, faucets, light fixtures, exterior and interior paint was going to be an all day event (and with kids, this is something I dread). Betsy had all of our appointments lined up and had picked up options ahead of time, so we when we went to select our countertops, backsplash, faucet, etc, it literally took us 10 minutes at each store. Easiest process ever! Betsy keep the renovation going and always stayed one step ahead of the contractors. When the contractors were ready for next phase of the project, Betsy was ready for them. Betsy worked side by side with the contractors as well to make sure everything was installed per her specifications (my contractor even LOVED working with Betsy. He said “Betsy just tells me what to do and we do it”.) When the major components of the house were completed, Betsy moved onto the accessories for the house! She wants to make sure your house is absolute perfection and meets your needs. She has helped me pick out our new couch, fabric for pillows, designed the furniture layout of our living room, and all the décor and artwork throughout my entire house. When we have people over at our renovated house, every says “this kitchen should be in a magazine.” My husband even says our house would have never looked this good if it wasn’t for Betsy! We are so thankful and grateful for Betsy and Bardi Designs.

We highly recommend Betsy Bardi for custom residential interior design work. My wife Cathy and I moved from PA to NC in 2015, and built a new retirement home - an NC 1 and 1/2 story bungalow with living quarters downstairs and art studios upstairs. Our direction to Betsy was: a fresher, more modern bungalow interior, that incorporated some of our former art and furniture, and would not look like "grandma's house". Betsy worked with us from day 1, reviewing house floor plans, helping us to select exterior (stone, siding color, trim color) and interior finishes (flooring, tile, cabinets, hardware, etc.), and helped us not to make costly mistakes. She then reviewed our existing artwork and furniture against the floor plan and helped us decide which pieces to move to NC, and which to sell in PA. That's an important step, because interstate moving is very expensive! In the process, she also saved us money. For example, in repurposing a cherry wood armoire from our prior bedroom into the new master bath for linens and storage. We would have never thought of that. After helping us with the existing furniture placement, Betsy assisted us with wall paint colors, wallpaper, and window treatments. Then she went shopping with us and helped to select new furniture pieces (couch, chairs, coffee and end tables, consoles). Also, bed linens, decorative pillows and other accent pieces. She also made her extensive network of top notch suppliers available to us - an invaluable thing when you are new to a community. We love our new home, and it would not be a fraction of what it is design wise without Betsy. She was and is a pleasure to work with, listens well, and provides excellent suggestions. And in the end, is willing to graciously defer to the owner's taste as needed. Again, we highly recommend Betsy Bardi for your residential interior design project. And for a new home project or major renovation, I would not start it without her. The benefits will far outweigh her professional fee.

We recently purchased a duplex in a retirement community and needed help to redesign our space into a warm and functional home. The most significant challenge we faced was having a relatively small space that needed to fully accommodate my active lifestyle in a power wheelchair. Betsy came highly recommended and from our first meeting I knew she would be the perfect designer for us. Her enthusiasm for the project was evident and her vision for our space was brilliant. I don't know how, but she managed to capture our style and transform our small, dark space into a beautiful and functional home that we love coming home to every day. Functionality with my wheelchair was always a key factor in Betsy's design elements: the open design with widened doorways, a pull-out work space in the kitchen, and custom cabinetry including pull-down shelves. Accessibility was also a factor in her kitchen appliance choices (location of knobs, cantilever shelf in a wheelchair-height wall oven, access to fume hood controls). I love to cook and spend a great deal of my time in the kitchen. Betsy's design make this a pure joy. I can't wait for her to start on our next project!

Betsy has completely changed my view of what an interior designer is and what they can do for their clients. I originally hired Betsy thinking I only needed help picking wall colors and placing artwork. What I quickly realized though is that Betsy's true passion is discovering her client's true vision for their home and bringing it to life. Through her numerous design skills and her vast network of manufacturers and contractors she is able to transform a space with color, draperies, rugs, furniture, and accent pieces into something unique that truly reflects her clients. I highly recommend Betsy as an interior designer. She has helped design several rooms in my home. I love everything she has done for me!! She helped me pick out furniture, accessories, paint, and flooring. She takes a lot of extra time to make sure you are excited about your choices. She helped me pick out pieces that I would of never thought of myself, but are perfect for you. She is easy to communicate with through the whole process.
