Ann was fantastic to work with. She was instrumental in making my master bath into a gorgeous spa like space. She made a large and difficult project easy and was helpful and supportive every step of the way. Really a great experience.

Ann designed a master bath, powder room and laundry room for me recently. She was great to work with, easy to get ahold of and very responsive. Couldn't be happier with both the design and fixtures that she picked. Ann helped with every part of each room including the selection of lighting, fixtures, hardware and paint colors. She will be my first call when a new project comes up.

We worked with Ann on another project and when it was time to remodel our kitchen and family room, we immediately thought of her. Ann is the consummate professional. She spent time understanding our thoughts, likes and dislikes for a new kitchen, considering both design and functionality. She listened to our feedback and collaboratively we settled on a plan. Her relationships with our contractor and cabinet, plumbing, lighting, tile and counter providers made for an easy process. She helped us select materials and her skill in seeking out what worked for us was exceptional. She was gracious in pushing back when our thoughts went astray, grounding us in better design ideas. Ann has a great sense of design, style and functionality, coupled with exceptional communication skills that resulted in a kitchen and family room that exceed our expectations.

My kitchen renovation project would never have come to fruition without Ann. Ann helped us design a kitchen that was limited in how it could be laid out with minimal useable wall space, and yet still managed to include most of our "want" list in her design. She was realistic, patient, honest and her taste is impeccable. We recommend her for design layout (detailed in her measurements and knowing details that need to be accounted for), choosing kitchen elements (focus areas, ie. rangehood), advice and the odd "therapy" session.

Ann has all the bases covered when it comes to kitchen design. She is completely at ease in the world of contractors and construction. Ann understands the engineering principles pertinent to her projects. She has the depth of experience to work with contractors to find the best way to make her designs work. My contractor was impressed with her knowledge. They spoke the same language and that made things go smoother for me. I had the basic idea of opening up the wall between the dining room and kitchen. Ann mentioned that my idea would reduce my cabinets and storage which would make my already too small kitchen even less functional. Ann completely reoriented the kitchen layout, maximizing my storage and counter space. I also now have a beautiful, large island with seating where Ann suggested I put a microwave drawer. It's prefect. I mentioned I wanted to keep an eat-in area, so Ann designed a beautiful banquette for the dining area. Again, I love it, but I never would have come up with that idea. I needed someone with a polished sense of design to show me what was possible for my new kitchen. Ann did this for me and I am delighted with my new kitchen. It suits me perfectly!

We recently expanded and renovated our kitchen, powder room and master bathroom in addition to redecorating the balance of the house. We were fortunate to hire Ann Wolinsky as the designer. From the layout, cabinets, coffee bar and mudroom to the lighting, plumbing fixtures and tile - our kitchen and bathrooms look amazing! We hired Ann to review plans and provide design suggestions in connection with the renovation of our kitchen. We were so impressed that we did the same thing a year later when we were planning a master bath renovation. Ann has an incredible eye and ability to see things that are not automatically obvious. She provided so many helpful suggestions that we would have never thought of on our own! It is one thing to look at plans and think they look great - it is another to be able to understand the practical ramifications of design - where a light switch should be, easy access to kitchen utensils, shower valve location, etc. Additionally, not only is Ann able to look at plans and think critically, but she has a beautiful design eye as well - her color suggestions were perfect! Finally, she was a pleasure to work with and accommodating! We highly recommend!

Ann designed and supervised the complete renovation of our kitchen. I'm not quite sure where to begin, but know for certain that we could not have taken on this huge project with so many moving parts without her excellent guidance and expertise. After our first consultation I knew Ann was the designer for us. From start to finish she always tried to satisfy both my husband and my tastes...which were not always the same. But after choosing the design and tweaking it several times, Ann made sure we were both happy before moving forward.Ann's eye for design, suggestions, knowledge and professionalism were exceptional and she was always reachable and quick to respond each and every day to any question or concerns.She spent many hours at multiple stores and design centers to help me choose cabinets, lighting, sinks, tile, countertops and hardware and also guided us in choosing kitchen furniture and wall hangings. Ann designed and supervised the renovation of our master bedroom, bathroom and our powder room while we were away from home for part of the winter. She was excellent, providing wonderful ideas and expertise, keeping us informed about progress, and anticipating issues and possible problems. She sent samples to help in our decisions and photos to show how the job was going. She was easy to reach, quickly responding to questions via telephone, text or e-mail. They designed the new layout for our kitchen and master bath, recommended an excellent contractor and painter, guided our selection of cabinets, countertops, backsplash and lighting, came with us as we selected all items and coordinated with the contractor and electrician to insure everything came out as planned! In the Spring of 2015 we undertook the complete renovation of our master bathroom, bedroom and closet. Ann Wolinsky had come highly recommended. She was amazing! Her creativity, her knowledge of materials and color schemes and professionalism was outstanding. Ann's sub contractors were very easy to work with and very competent while meeting deadlines as much as possible. My husband and I are so happy with the results. We are planning another bathroom renovation and are looking forward to working with Ann again.

It was a pleasure to work with Ann. She was highly professional in her dealings with me and with any vendors with whom we interacted. She listened to what I wanted and helped me create a kitchen which stayed within my budget and incorporated my requirements. I don't think my wife and I would consider any remodeling without calling Ann. She has worked with us on full remodels of a galley kitchen, a bathroom, and a powder room, as well as selected portions of a home office, a dining room, and entryway. She's professional and easy to work with. Just as important, the contractors she has brought in have been easy honest and reliable - and also easy to work with. When we first started work on our kitchen, we were clueless, because we had never done a remodel before. Ann guided us through the process, ensuring that the final design made sense, while respecting our design opinions. By the time we got around to our powder room, years later, we trusted her enough to be more adventurous. I've never been particularly excited by bathrooms, but the final result was spectacular.

AKB Design created the design of our bar and spa bath in our lower level game/entertainment/fitness rooms. The bar included all of our specs, plus, on AKB's recommendation, we added a two-drawer dishwasher which saves us from carrying party glassware upstairs for washing then back down for bar storage. AKB designed the vanity and coordinated the selection of tile and counter top for the spa bath with steam shower. It's a masterpiece with a unique piece of granite for the counter top and one ledgestone wall inside the shower creating a very calming spa-like space. Ann helped us design our new kitchen and addressed our needs from start to finish. She looked at how we used the kitchen for day to day cooking, as well as when entertaining, and came up with a design that was functional as well as beautiful! Ann was very knowledgable about cabinetry, countertops, lighting, and tile and spent many hours shopping with us for these items.. She worked with us on our budget and helped us choose materials that were affordable as well as good quality, She also directed us when choosing items that were related to our kitchen style and the result was a beautiful kitchen and exactly what we had envisioned! AKB designed an IKEA office kitchen for me. I love it as does everyone who sees it. She had many great ideas I would never have thought of. For the second time Ann is helping me rebuild a condominium baths(2.5) and a kitchen. Following our ideas but with our budget in mind. Very efficient. Fun to work with her. Always thoughtful about the project, bringing new ideas.

I can't say enough about working with Ann at AKB Design. I have worked with her on multiple projects in my house from bathrooms to a new kitchen. What I love is that she will happily help with design, material selection, fabrics, appliances, fixtures, etc. but you never feel that she is pushing her own agenda. Ann is very respectful of listening to your wants and likes while still offering her own opinions. You can utilize her expertise as much or as little as you want on your project from fully managing the project or just helping you pick out materials. I did a complete gut and renovation of my kitchen and master bath, including taking down walls and re-bricking a wall. Ann an i spent time talking about my needs and lifestyle for those spaces and created the design. The presentation was professional and we re-worked until Ann was confident that I was happy with the product. She hired the general contractor and oversaw his work, as well as the work of all the subs. At every step Ann was patient and guided me through the process with professionalism and courtesy, making sure that each decision was right. With all this construction and the many decisions, every day went smoothly and productively. The project was on time and on budget. Ann understood my design taste and my family lifestyle needs. It's been almost 4 years since my project and I love everything we did and everything we selected. I wouldn't change one thing about my kitchen and bath. I would use Ann again for any project and highly recommend her.

Ann helped me with two large projects. One a remodel of a kitchen and the second a remodel of an entire home out of state. Ann was key in the second project as I was unable to devote a great deal of time to it and she took the lead with ease. She is professional but down to earth. As busy full-time working parents with 4 children, we needed a knowledgable, timely and flexible designer to help us with our first floor renovation that would result in a new kitchen, bathroom, laundry room and mudroom. Update 2017: It was time to renovate my (once more 1970) bathrooms. I really gave it my best shot to do this myself and then I said, “What am I, crazy? This is overwhelming. Call Ann!” And I did. No surprises here. Ann once more walked me through the best design, selecting tiles and granite, the whole nine yards. Just knowing I had this knowledgeable, totally trustworthy and honest pro at my side made me heave a huge sigh of relief. The bathrooms are now gorgeous, functional, and completely updated. As I said to her when we parted, my next call will be to design my retirement home. She’s the BEST. You need Ann! Ann Wolinsky walked into my tiny 1970s kitchen and smiled politely. I explained that I was overwhelmed and had no idea where to begin. As we looked around and discussed the challenges of making a small space work harder for two enthusiastic cooks, Ann was honest, direct, and professional.
