SR mood board
Like the tile. And also white is good. I’ve thought about painting in the way you did the bathroom on your main floor but then take pause. EP: you wouldn't want to do the paint that we have in the powder room in any bathroom where people are getting ready. it's just too intense for the color for anything other than a powder room. when you say that you like the tile, I assume you're talking about the tile on the floor? Do you like the color or it being set in a herringbone pattern or both? The walls are wood planks, which I'm generally not a fan of it in the bathroom especially if you don't have a window for ventilation. SR: I think both color and pattern.
I like have such a generous amt of space on both sides and a generous amount of draw space. EP: This is going to be dictated by the maximum width of your vanity. The other thing you need to do is what we did and put the sink off center to maximize space to one side. that only works if you're going to do something custom though. SR: I think we shouldn’t consider custom if we want to maximize the stuff we want to do.
I like the floor. Does it make any sense to spend money for this type of shower vs a curtain since it’s the shower in the guest bath I would be using unless I’m actually taking a bath? EP: do you normally shower in the hall bath vs the master? I don't think this glass enclosure is particularly functional. it's also very expensive and makes it nearly impossible to bathe a kid in there. I'd opt for a shower curtain and either do something that's super neutral and basically disappears, or do something that's really fun and bold as a way to bring in more color. shower curtains are pretty cheap, so if you do pretty neutral tile and vanity, the shower curtain gives you the flexibility to change up the design on a more regular basis. SR: I shower in the guest bathroom. I agree about the possibilities with the shower curtain. First comes the design. While curtains can be fun I want to make sure it isn’t separate from the vibe of the bedroom. I also notice you didn’t comment on the floor. Is this possibility too big given the size of my bathroom? EP: flooring is totally doable. it's very similar to what we have in Ellie and Max's bathroom. And of course the entire bathroom design wil...
This pleases be. Makes me want to enter the room. EP: Do you like the vanity countertop? since you don't have any natural light in your bathroom, I wouldn't do a really dark wall. SR: Yes I do. I wonder about doing a small wall in color. The ones facing the toilets would be the appropriate ones. EP: you'll get that hue when you're putting on makeup and it won't be good. You can add bold colors with towels and accessories, but don't do a wall. Mommy: Shucks!
I like this but I wonder if all draws vs combo is draws snd cabinets is better or not for organizing what I have. EP: It may not be possible to get something in all drawers without building custom. I think you're better bet is to find something that you like and then focus on buying the right internal organization options for the drawers/cabinets. SR: I shall then turn to my guru of internal organization, aka EMP.
the color is rich. I don’t like the good. I want a faucet that doesn’t require my hands to manipulate. EP: Do you want to faucet with a single handle versus two separate ones? when you say that the color is rich - is that something you like or something you don't like? SR: I want a single handle that I can manipulate with my forearm. The rich color is something I like.
I like the angels and the title which has a brick-like feel. I won’t be replacing my tub. EP: what do you think of the colors? yellow, turquoise, white and gray? I think they work and I don’t want any yellow that has hints of orange in it. As you have readily figured out I love the lighteness of butter yellow both for its literal lightness as well as it fitting 2 of my 3 words: sanctuary and relaxing.
I don’t like the cabinet on the counter. I want to maximize my countertops. I like white and/or warm wood like I had in Edina. EP: thinking more about the color in this one. I don't see a scenario where we replace your cabinets versus just painting or refacing them. Mommy: I like the color and are you thinking that we should follow the color scheme from the living room dining room into the kitchen? EP: it'll doesn't need to be the same, but since it's open it'll need to work together.
Same comments as on other rooms. I don’t see changing out my sink or faucet. EP: What do you think about the colors, the wood flooring, the rug and the light fixture over the sink? also do you like the light countertop? Mommy: Basically I like it. I think there’s too much gray in the color especially in light of my wanting to hang your picture exactly where I have it. I think it’s important to have a rug (Patty taught me that) but I don’t want it to be seen from the dining room.
I love how bright and light it is.So far the other white kitchens feel much warmer and inviting. I wish I could have this seating like I did in Edina for chatting with a guest while I cook. EP: What do you think of the turquoise lower cabinets and white uppers? And what do you think about the wood floors? Mommy: Interesting possibility of different colors up in both. Floor is good.
I wish I had windows in my kitchen. Mine is the first place that i feel like I am in the dark. This configuration is similar to mine because it maximizes efficient movement. I like that. EP: What do you think of the white uppers and lower cabinets? And do you like the dark countertop? Mommy: I like the different colors up and down and I like the color of the countertop.
Laminate is better than tile. We talked about open shelving. Not so sure how that would look-perhaps it would look crowded and I’m nit sure what I would want to be seen. EP: Do you like this look? The question is around very modern vs more transitional. Mommy: I like very modern depending on how I respond to it. Like other styles it depends on how it is done. Some very modern is too cool feeling which wouldn’t accomplish my words.
Shiny tile makes me smile. I want a combination of the vibe of joyful in the kitchen, relaxing in the living room and dining room, playful in the Everything Room, inviting in the bathrooms (actually everywhere). And inspiring. At my home in Edina I knew I had hit the mark when people entered, paused and told me these things and also said,”You created a sanctuary here.
I built a window seat like this but I don’t know where I would have it without sacrificing space to do Tai Chi in the Everything Room . I’m moving the desk so I can free up the view. I also want to put the tv on the wall. EP: what about under the window in your bedroom? I'd have to look at measurements, but you may not have room at the end of your bed for a bench and this could work. Mommy: there isn’t enough room in the bedroom because of the location of the closet.
I like the fan and I want one that also has a light. I like the shade and I find it difficult to figure out what I want. Because I have unique privacy I’ve been playing with the idea of having none except in the bedroom. EP: Do you need of the light in the fan to light up the whole room? What do you think of the colors?Mommy: I may not need a fan with a light in the bedroom but I definitely do in the everything room.Don’t want my bedroom to be painted white. I don’t like the colors of the shades.
I like the side table lighting. EP: I'd like to do larger nightstands than what you have currently and I like the idea of the wall mounted lights to free up space on the bedside table. We can connect the lights to Alexa so that we can simply use your voice to turn them on and off as well. Mommy: I’m not sure how we’d have enough space for larger ones because there isn’t much space between pulling out one of the bureau draws and the night stand. Why do I need bigger? I like the idea of mounted lights and I like the one shown.
I like that wallpaper and curtain. I’ve never done curtains.
Hate everything except color. The rug makes me wince!
Don’t know why this came to mind: Sharon has love seat and 2 chairs. They are firm and let me easily sit fir long periods of time with my legs up yoga style. 2 chairs side by side - don’t think I would have space for that given what You just said. EP: you might be able to do a loveseat and two chairs instead of your large couch and one chair. we'd have to measure and see if it would fit. What do you think of the colors in this one? Mommy: I think th color is dull. I don’t like the pattern on it. I like the color of the blue and green.
Yuk!
Like the light and airy this is. The carpet is too busy. I know my carpet has a significant pattern and I experience it differently. EP: We need to get you a different carpet. you need one that is significantly larger. All of the all ifurniture should sit on the carpet. Mommy: Why does furniture have to sit on carpet? Hey- are you going to help me sell everything you want me to replace?!
This art arrangement is uncluttered and allows for each piece to be seen. I’d like to have a tree like plant And the only place I can imagine this is in the living room to the left of the fireplace. And, one of the things that is problematic is blocking light. I already am limited that way.
I was never sure if I like our leather furniture and having re-experienced Sharon’s furniture I think leather furniture is too soft and I guess that would apply to my living room furniture. EP: What do you think of the colors? It ties in the butter yellow, the browns of the wood and leather, white and turquoise and with the pillows and the kitchen.Mommy: Yes I like it but turquoise has never been a favorite. I would much prefer one of the rich blues we’ve seen in some of the other rooms.
what do you think of this? how does it make you feel?Mommy: it makes me feel cramped and overwhelmed. The wall pattern makes me dizzy and nauseous.
I like having what I call wrap around seating and in my living room I want to be able to sit facing the fireplace amd I don’t want to block the shelves. Want to retain my art and I have never liked collections like this. EP: I was thinking this kind of gallery wall for the art could be good in the everything room. would be really cool way to aggregate and display all the family photos. Mommy: That’s what I did back in the Everything Room in Edina. I stopped hanging stuff both because it seemed foolish since I was going to paint, But can’t do it by myself. I also want to figure out how to frame and hang pictures of great grandparents and aunts and uncles that Ellie hears me talking about.
Doesn’t move me.
I want to find rich color to compliment the butter yellow. When I was in your bedroom I notice I could imagine the grey in your bedroom in mine.
so many pillows makes me dizzy.I want butter yellow walls instead of gray and I do like the combo of yellow and grey.
love the solid grey wall and yellow contrast but that yellow is awful! Hate the coffee table.
love the color and clear glass shower. A seat would be great. EP: We might be able to do a fold down shower seat in your guest bath shower. I actually have one in the attic that's wood. do you like the black fixtures and handles? SR: Black sinks or do you mean black seat? Why did you change out beyond the installment being bad? EP: black faucet, shower head and handles. We wanted a larger built in bench for the kids to be able to sit on in the shower. with the bigger shower, it was possible to do a built-in bench.
