This is great. Not sure how well it would work in the space we have now though. The banquette idea can work for you which I have put into a couple of floor plans. This one looks good because it is in a bay window. You can have a similar effect by putting it into a corner of your kitchen with a round table as I did in one plan.
I like the way they've done storage in this. I'm realizing that I don't like uppers very much. I prefer either pantry or counter and wall. Maybe some floating shelves for a couple signature pieces. It sounds like you like your dishes out in the open so you can see what you have. Even a few signature pieces have to be selected well to look like this. Note they used all white items in this placement.
I know this will bug Angela but I like the navy with the white. I also like the understated cabinets. I don't like the heavily detailed cupboards and corners with moulding all over them. These doors are referred to as 'Craftsman Style doors' it is a door with a lowered flat panel. As for the other details, you can make your kitchen as fussy or plain as you like. This will be done at the cabinet suppliers. They should have a computer program where they can put your kitchen in with all your choices and you can see the elevations and 3D renderings of your kitchen before you order. You make all your changes at that stage. The upper glass cabinets here are very classic and would look amazing in your kitchen above the sink, stove in one of my floor plans. The simplicity comes because it does not have crown moulding on top as others have. As for colour, maybe if Angela is liking a darker gray then you can find a paint colour that is dark gray with a hint of blue in it. This blue is very trendy for 2018 but next year it might be something else. On the other hand it might stay around for a couple more years. My guess is that it will stay around for a while because all the tap and faucet m...
I like this island with the baking counter. I like this kitchen layout. Although it will be tight with the stub walls between the kitchen and living room. And I dont' think we can get rid of them now. It's a load bearing wall. We are talking layout here not style? This layout I have given you in one of the floor plans...and it can work. I don't think the stub walls play a role here unless I am missing some information. I do know that the structural beam between the kitchen and living room can easily be put in so you can open the whole room up without stub walls all together. Then you have choices.....you can either drop the beam down for detail, which will chop up your space or you can have the beam raised up into the ceiling so you can't see it at all. The later would be my preference for your kitchen living room because these are two spaces that need to look as large as possible.
i like this. I'm not sure how'd feel if the whole island was just table though. It would wear heavily and would likely get irritating. but it would free up the living room so it doesn't have to have a table in it. This won't work very well because it doesn't have storage. You are loosing a lot of storage if you are wanting to only put open shelving for uppers.
i like the tile and wood countertop. Also that there is nothing on the island. I want to be able to make pasta. And to use those big pasta rolling pins that are like 5' long. I think any island will give you a large enough area to make pasta. I have never heard of a 5' long rolling pin for pasta. It sounds to big to handle. I make pasta like my grandmother used to and she had a dowl for a rolling pin 3' long and it is easy to store in the back of a drawer. I would love to see this rolling pin, send me photo's.
this one is just straight up awesome. The long seating area. The big windows, I like the colours. The lights. The mirror is a neat idea but impractical. Maybe reverse the island so the stools go towards the living room in our house. The pantry would have to be on the wall opposite the stove though. I gave you the large window in a couple of layouts, this island is way to large to fit into your kitchen. You can do a smaller version of it though. The pantry cupboards can be put in on the left wall if you want to put them in.
this island is a better size. not too big. the other one was maybe too big. I like this kitchen. But then I tell myself that it's too normal. But maybe normal is good because it works so well. First of all it needs to function well as a kitchen. This kitchen is a better size because it is similar in size to what you will have. You don't have to settle for normal ever but good function always.
I like the big expansive island on this. It can be used for multiple things at once. I doesn't need to be cleared off to do something else. Every time I look at this photo I like it less. It's too busy. This kitchen style is French colonial. If you took out the coffered ceiling, the detail in the glass, the corners on the island, the crown moulding. You would have something more along the lines of what you are liking. These details are all done in the last finishing designs at the kitchen suppliers. They can do computer renderings and elevations so you can see every detail before you order. You can even have them put in the colours you like to see what you might like.
this is a fun style - angela
