Redesigned Kitchen and Family Room Welcomes Family and Friends
The family in this traditional house loved to frequently celebrate holidays and special occasions with their large extended family and many friends. But the separate kitchen, family room, and adjacent areas limited the interaction and flow of guests.
The design objective was to refurbish their newly remodeled family room and kitchen to create a warm, welcoming and comfortable environment for the family’s enjoyment and frequent entertainment needs.
Harmony was created among the enlarged rooms through the use of warm colors, durable fabrics and custom-designed furniture that reflected the homeowners elegant taste and casual lifestyle. The television was relocated adjacent to the fireplace to create a central focal point; sofas and chairs were reupholstered for comfort and style; and built-in cabinets were re-purposed to accommodate the new room design.
