Waterfall Shower Bathroom
For this bathroom, I was asked to design a room that could function as the primary guest bathroom, but also feel very personal for a soon-to-be teenage girl. She told me she liked waterfalls, and so we set out to design a waterfall into the room.
The waterfall is made of "raindrop" glass tiles, and starts at the wall above the shower head. Then it drifts down around the corner of the shower, finally falling to the slate tile floor at the long wall of the shower. We decided to break up wall tiles in order to create a feeling of rubble, or small rocks, like you would see in a real waterfall.
We talked about creating a mural with a tropical theme on the wall where the art piece is hanging, but haven't done that yet.
We placed a niche in the wall above the shower seat for shampoo and soaps so that we could focus on the raindrop tiles at the waterfall walls.
