Every now and again we have the good fortune to provide our services in a location with stunningly gorgeous scenery. This Cape Neddick, Maine project represents one of those occasions. Nestled in the client’s backyard, the custom glass conservatory we designed and built offers breathtaking views of the Cape Neddick River flowing nearby. The picturesque result is a great example of how our custom glass enclosures can enhance your daily experience of the natural beauty that already surrounds your home. This conservatory is iconic in its form, designed and styled to match the existing look of the client’s residence, and built to withstand the full brunt of a New England winter. Positioned to maximize views of the river, the glass addition is completed by an adjacent outdoor patio area which provides additional seating and room to entertain. The new space is annexed directly to the home via a steel-reinforced opening into the kitchen in order to provide a convenient access path between the home’s interior and exterior. The mahogany glass roof frame was engineered in our workshop and then transported to the job site and positioned via crane in order to speed construction time without sacrificing quality. The conservatory’s exterior has been painted white to match the home. The floor frame sits atop helical piers and we used wide pine boards for the interior floor. As always, we selected some of the best US-made insulated glass on the market to complete the project. Low-e and argon gas-filled, these panes will provide the R values that make this a true four-season structure.

La véranda est idéale en mi-saison pour prendre un repas ou lire un livre. Pour habiller le mur, nous avons posé un papier peint d'extérieur à imprimé tropical. Nous avons également posé des lames de terrasse sur le vieux carrelage flammé des années 70. Quel plaisir de pouvoir trouver un espace vert de 40 m2, petit havre de paix en plein Lyon, au cœur de la Croix-Rousse. C'est le petit plus qui m'a fait craquer ! Composé d'une terrasse, d'un barbecue et d'un cabanon, ce jardinet vous fait vivre l'été en ville d'une autre façon !

Che materiali usare per costruire una veranda

Quando si tratta di scegliere i materiali, non vanno solo considerati gusto ed esigenze personali ma bisogna anche tenere conto delle esigenze estetiche e far si che il materiale usato sia in armonia con il resto della struttura. Per la costruzione della struttura portante e per i serramenti sono disponibili vari materiali: legno, alluminio o pvc. Quest’ultimo è la soluzione più comune visto che - contrariamente al legno e all’alluminio - non richiede nessun trattamento per l’esterno ed è un materiale resistente alle intemperie, durevole nel tempo e disponibile in estetiche diverse. Per dare alle verande un tocco originale è possibile rifarsi al ferro, che si distingue soprattutto per la sua elevata versatilità. Tuttavia va considerato che la sua capacità d’isolamento termico è alquanto scarsa. Per la realizzazione delle vetrate, i fattori più importanti da tenere in mente sono la sicurezza e la resistenza: il vetro deve necessariamente essere di tipo blindato. Esso è infatti resistente ad agenti atmosferici così come ad attacchi da parte di malintenzionati ed è disponibile quale vetro temperato o accoppiato.

Consigli per arredare una veranda

Quando si arreda questo spazio bisogna tener conto di due elementi: innanzi tutto è importante che lo stile dell’arredamento sia in sintonia con il resto delle stanze e, in secondo luogo, si consiglia di optare per mobili da giardino onde evitare che questi si surriscaldino troppo o che i materiali sbiadiscano velocemente vista la possibile esposizione elevata al sole diretto. I mobili in vimini o rattan sono ideali e creano un ambiente che invita a trattenersi e rilassarsi. Se hai il pollice verde e desideri coltivare piante durante tutto l’anno, puoi trasformare la tua veranda in un orto in casa. Se ad esempio hai la possibilità di riscaldare questo spazio e inoltre gestirne il grado di umidità, puoi ricreare l’habitat ideale per delle piante tropicali, quali la Sterlizia, i ficus e le orchidee.

Progettare un giardino d'inverno

Che la tua casa si trovi un'una zona con clima mite o severo e lo spazio a disposizione lo cosente, valuta la progettazione di un giardino d'inverno. Piccolo o grande che sia, usalo per riparare le piante durante i mesi più severi. Esposto a sud, beneficerà dei raggi del sole che terranno in vita le tue piante decorative o i piccoli alberi da frutto, come aranci e limoni.
