Prairie water garden
Entrusted to expand a Jens Jensen landscape from the 1920’s our client envisioned an expansive water garden. They had just purchased an adjoining property and desired to maintain the feel of Jensen’s work while adding pond, pavilion and plantings. Extensive research was conducted to obtain the original landscape plan and to determine the source of the building materials and limestone that was used throughout the property. Elements of the main house that was designed by architect John Van Bergen were repeated in the pavilion.
The prairie style pavilion is situated overlooking the expansive water garden.
