This Joliet IL homeowner wanted a bright, fresh, modern kitchen, and we went in a very contemporary direction. Slab doors and drawers give us a clean, sleek look that shows off the beautiful maple wood. The homeowner re-used a solid wood top for the island, and drama was added to the light color palette by using dark-toned granite.
This u-shaped kitchen already offers a large amount of storage, and the great pantry cabinet helps keep it at hand. A focal point was created by adding textured glass doors to the longest run of wall cabinets. Beverage storage was also added at the end of this run. The mostly neutral palette allows the modern light fixture and cabinet hardware to pop. This is contemporary done in a classic way that will never go out of style.
