A beautiful CoreAcryl French Bateau tub in a bright metallic copper coated exterior and prematurely aged to give the appearance of a darkened, antiqued copper patina. The patina is applied to darken and age the copper similar to the aging seen on a penny and can be increased or decreased to suit the personal preference of the buyer. To further enhance this beautiful presentation, we added oil rubbed fittings to include our fabulous Victoriana tub filler plus handheld shower with rigid freestanding supply lines and a matching Victorian tub drain.
Finishing
The exterior of the tub is sanded and primed ready for application. After applying three coats of bright 'new penny' metallic copper to the exterior surface of the tub and allowing for drying, we introduce several layers of patinating agents over a few days to darken and age to suit our buyers preference. After a further few days of activation and further drying, we apply four layers of a high grade eggshell clear lacquer to protect the finish and make it easy to maintain The results are amazing and additional patina can be added or left off to suit the buyers preference for either lighter or darker shades. No two tubs will be the same, your tub will be totally unique and one of a kind. Totally hassle free maintenance and cleaning, just a wipe with a soft dry cloth.
