Custom Home, Captiva Island, Florida
Rudolph Architects received a dream commission in 2000, to design an island getaway in Captiva Island, Florida. Inspiration for the design was found right there on the site. The panoramic views across the sound, the breathtaking sunsets and the desire by the client for an open, airy layout all contributed to the form and feel of the home. Dramatic views in three directions helped to dictate the layout of prominent programmatic features. Unobstructed views from within the home are in harmony with extreme privacy for the owners. Terraces and a covered lanai are some of the features that allow the tropics to seemingly enter the home.
