Keen to create an elegant entertaining space with a minimalist aesthetic, our customers gave us free rein to transform their kitchen diner into their dream kitchen.
We designed the kitchen and island in a true handleless style and in a two-tone colour scheme. The island is in Indigo Blue, and the rest of the furniture is in a timeless Light Grey. Using a dramatic colour on the island provides a great contrast with the light grey and prevents the space from feeling too clinical in such a light, bright setting.
This is a beautifully streamlined, contemporary kitchen which bounces light around the room, feels spacious and is perfectly set up for entertaining. The island is large, seating four adults comfortably with plenty of room to cook and prep food, making it a sociable and practical hub in the centre of the room.
To keep the space feeling open rather than too enclosed, we designed half-height wall units above the sink and worktop. This really helps a kitchen feel less dense with furniture if you’re trying to create a more stripped-back aesthetic but still provides lots of practical storage.
The work surfaces are the classic Cotton Star by Konigstone in a slim 20ml thickness, and appliances include the BORA Pure hob, Quooker Flex hot water tap, NEFF ovens and an Abode sink.
To help create the right ambience for every occasion and to take this kitchen from day to night, the handle rails are fitted with multi-hue LED lighting. This works so well against the light grey and indigo colour scheme and makes this such a fun space when the clients want to change up the vibe for any occasion.
In keeping with the minimalist style, the clients didn’t want tiling behind the sink, so we designed a 300ml upstand on the sink run to protect the wall from splashes and stains.
