A Stone's Throw - Livingston, Montana
The top and bottom of this shelf were made from wood (trim) that was left over after construction of the house. As you can see it matches the door frame to the left. The shelf is faced with short pieces of throw-away picture frame molding from a local frame shop. This was designed and constructed 100% by the homeowners (Donald and Mick). We weren't trying to make it look like books (even though it sorta does).
Springs and test tube vases were sourced from a salvage shop in Chicago. Cake pedestal from Etsy. The top/cover for the cake pedestal is a repurposed $12 bowl from World Market and a steel handle we had lying around the house. The glass shop on Main Street drilled the 2 holes for the handle. Voila!
