Does anyone grow the Brownell rose 'Elegance?

Or know where in the United States I can purchase it?

I have just seen it described as a yellow climber that can tolerate colder climates. It reminds me a bit of Cl Lady Hillingdon which would be too tender for such a climate.

Montgomery Place used to have it. They may still. It's been a while since I've been in that garden, and the rose garden has undergone some rather strange alterations over time. It used to be growing on a stone wall, with a New Dawn on each side. Many years ago, I had to rescue an intern from it.

Thorny, is it? 'Apricot Glow', another excellent Brownell climber, is ferociously thorny -- I try to admire mine only from afar. 'Elegance' does look lovely!

Watch the Vintage sales as they are listed as a garden growing it.

I've been looking for this rose for ages. As the offspring of Glenn Dale, I've always hoped it would be healthier than the average yellow climber. Glenn Dale is totally spotless here, and a robust climber (20+ feet, at least). If you do ever find it, please let us know!
