Bigger shower or bigger vanity - Help!

Katrina H
3 anni fa

Hi everyone,

We're having a real struggle deciding this for our ensuite bathroom renovation, whether to have:

1. A 900x900 shower with toilet alongside / a double wall hung vanity

2. A wall-to-wall shower / a 900m single bowl wall hung vanity and toilet

3. A wall-to-wall shower / a double wall hung vanity / toilet under window

The previous shower had a leak so the whole floor has to be replaced.

Ensuite is 1770 x 238 and is for husband and wife.

Have attached rough floorplan ideas.

Please let me know what you think would work best!!

Toilet we are wanting a Back-to-Wall Toilet (not in wall)

Above the vanity regardless of vanity size we want a mirror-panel shaving/medicine cabinet

Option 4. Shower in Opt 3 but put vanity under window and toilet on rhs wall at door end.

I would never have a 900 shower if you can help it.
It's too small , esp if you are my hubby at 115 kg..carrying a bit of lock down weight!

    I would go with 2.

No. 1 is ok too if you want extra storage/bench, my wife for example wants to change back to a single sink vanity so that's why its a 2 from me.

IMO never go with the toilet as your first view entering a bathroom (unless its a WC).

Go for number 2, in my household we don't believe in closing doors so it wouldn't be my favourite thing to see walking in or by the ensuite.

i‘m actually in camp 2 as well. walk in showers age well as you do and are often what future home buyers or tenants look for.

Thank you all for the overwhelming response - seem like option 2 is the clear winner! Next decision is the orientation of the shower. We like this look:

(full black panel and shower tray) just to try keep the upkeep to a minimum. Ignore the wall tiles. The orientation of the current shower is towards the door, should this be okay for a panel? Should we consider one the goes the whole way across? Or change the orientation of the shower head and mixer to the other side to face the window?

This was our inspiration pic to start with:

    All help appreciated!

You can't have a wall in shower with a shower tray?
