Has anyone purchased from the website www.villa-di-milano.com before?

Hi,
I am interested in purchasing furniture from Villa di Milano. https://www.villa-di-milano.com/ However, I had never heard of them before and the answering service seems unprofessional and clueless to say the least. They don't seem to be able to answer any questions about the company. They only forward you to a member of their sales team in Italy who you cannot call directly. Does anyone have any experience buying from them? Is this website a scam? We wanted to buy from Europebynet, but it seems like they might have gone out of business. The business model seems similar, but I want to make sure the company is legitimate before purchasing. Any input would be appreciated!

    You might get a better response if you post this question on the Home Decorating forum. The furniture forum does not get much traffic. Have you tried chatting with them on-line through the web site? They probably have Italian business hours, and so depending on where you are (I'm on the West Coast), the time difference could be important.

    I would write them an email in Italian and see what response that gets. It might be very different from the response you get if you write to them in English.

    Thanks for the advice, Lars, about posting my question to Home Decorating. The sales team in Italy does speak English so that isn't the issue. Though I do appreciate the offer to write the email in Italian. I would just like a way to verify that the business is legitimate given that they are based in Italy and I would have limited recourse if anything were to go wrong. I can't find any reviews or additional information on them.

    thank you for your message. We understand your concerns about buying online internationally and we admit that we are not happy with our current phone answering service as well. Our main problem is the time difference because we receive most US calls from late afternoon well into late evening in Europe and it is not easy to find people with deep product knowledge to work that late shift. That is the reason why we have an American phone reception service but it is impossible to have the receptionists answer questions covering our whole product line of +100.000 products. Long story short, we are well aware of this problem and trying to find some dedicated specialists either in the US or for the late shift in Europe to answer questions and provide competent customer service.


    Regarding the legitimacy and trustworthyness of our business we are happy to provide you with references. We mainly sell to contractors, interior designers and commercial clients such as hotels, not so much to private customers.

    No, we didn't. The pieces we wanted take a loooong time to make, so in the end it was too much for us in addition to the uncertainty.

    I ordered a bed and two night tables from Villa-di-Milano, last year, with a December scheduled delivery date. This was assuming 6 weeks for production and 2 weeks for shipping. The last email from them said it would arrive in the US January 23, and then would have to be shipped to me. I have written them a couple of emails and not had a status update. I will let post an update. Villa-di-Milano, you should know that this makes purchasers very uncomfortable and the delay is not helpful to the reputation of my beloved Italy.

    ALERT! Villa-di-Milano is a fraudulent website. I ordered a bed in August that was supposed to arrive in December. When I finally called the manufacturer to confirm they did business with Villa Di Milano, they had never heard of them. I had the credit card company reverse the charge and instantly dozens of fraudulent charges were made on the card. The lesson is, nobody actually can give you a great price on a custom made piece from a big design house, period. I guess that sounds obvious but I was taken in by a very convincing website.

    I ordered a hard to find Grohe item and received it in less than a week. Shipped to california. I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly i received the product.

    Stay away from them! Ordered in June, items were due August and pushed back to October. I have now lodged a charge back in December as they are completely ignoring all emails and have completely disappeared.

    I have a very negative experience as well. I ordered 6 child toilets for my childcare business. The toilets were shipped but Villa di Milano supplied an incorrect contact email address for for the receiving plumbing company. Midway through the shipping process and email is supposed to be received by the plumbing company from Fed Ex. By Villa Di Milano giving the Fed Ex the wrong email address the plumbing company was never notified about the toilets just setting in Memphis Tennessee and waiting on information requested by Fed Ex so the toilets were sent back to Europe. We could not get back in touch with Villa Di Milano for 2 months. Finally we did here back from them and we requested to have the toilets shipped back and even volunteered to pay for reshipping. Again they have gone dark. My business is scheduled to open in one week and I do not have child wall hung toilets. This entire process started in September 2020 and I still do not have the toilets I ordered from Villa Di Milano. Im also out of nearly $6000 for the purchase of the toilets. This has been a nightmare experience. I'm baffled by the lack of customer service from Villa Di Milano.
