We are getting asked for more colour in a bathroom such asgreens, purples and even yellow! Earthy tones are a big thing in 2017. Whether the colour is added with paint on the walls or featured in the tiles colour is creeping back to make bathrooms look more individual. I thought i'd attach a recent photo of a bathroom we have done with a very bold worktop!

In terms of colours, shades of blues and greys are remain very popular in 2017 and we are also seeing requests for bold charcoals and blacks and predict to see more of this over the coming year.

Many clients are also choosing a subtle use of two tones on islands or feature units or opting to use a blend of materials throughout the kitchen.

We are also seeing a continuing trend of features such as marble surfaces, pendant lighting and copper, brass or other aged metal accessories. We predict antique gold will be a strong this year.

2016 saw a rise in popularity for metallic finishes from taps to mirrors, and it seems that there is no sign of this trend slowing down for 2017. Two influential bathroom companies have released rose gold colour ranges that we think are going to be a real hit such as this very stylish bathroom tap.

The marble effect quartz are extremely popular worktops at the moment, paired with a navy or grey unit and a metallic finish tap.

We are starting to see a move away from velvet into more natural fibers and weaves for fabric furniture and a more relaxed look with loose covers becoming very popular. Blue velvet is still a favorite though.

Geometric patterns, the colour Green, large tropical prints, quirky lighting, the industrial look continues but with a slightly softer look, the love for metallic finishes continues too... copper was really in for 2016 and we think brass will join it in 2017. It's easy to embrace the latest trends by including small touches of them into existing interiors. Here's a quirky light we designed with coloured flex to update a bedroom.

On trend retro lighting but also a low cost solution. · Maggiori informazioni

A subtle two-tone effect for the kitchen is still popular but clients are moving away from the high contrast of grey and white to create a more homely natural feel that is still universally appealing by opting for Cashmere, Taupe and Grey Oak.Veneer.

We're seeing a desire for furniture that mixes elements of the warmth of natural materials combined with unfussy angles, so we've seen rising demand for our tables that use character oak and sleek steel - a rustic look for modern interiors - like our Kenton oak dining table .

Not a fashion trend... but a trend of a different kind - people shopping around with one independently designed kitchen or bedroom plan that they have been involved in designing with a pro - and getting discounts or great prices generally, from retailers who are happy to price their projects without the overhead of setting up home sales design visits and time spent planning etc ( as not all of these make a sale - but they all require care and time etc). It's an increasing trend of clients wanting to be fair to retailers and compare like for like !
Hopefully the days of blagging a 'free design' when you have no intention to buy makes all retailers a little happier too !

Everybody still loves grey but people are being more daring, we have been asked to pair a grey Shaker kitchen with a really dense blue black island and it looks stunning, just enough contrast without being too dark overall. Personally, white kitchens never go out of fashion and my ideal kitchen of the moment is a mix of white, whitewashed oak for warmth and anthracite for drama, very Scandi, clean and crisp.

It sounds a little 'Star-Trek' but we think voice control will be finding it's way into many homes this year. We have already completed some voice controlled lighting with great success AND it has also been very 'affordable'...

In addition is the cost and availability of lighting controllers - they do so much more and yet cost less then a few yeas ago! Most projects we do have some form of control now. We're loving 2017!

Here at Charter Walk we are seeing that handleless kitchen cabinets are still really popular and this trend seems to be continuing into 2017. However, now customers are combining sleek painted or gloss units with wood tones as a contrast. There's also a lot more focus on kitchen lighting, especially task lighting, too.

Here are a couple of pictures of one of our latest installations, which includes handleless cabinetry, high gloss vertical olive wood, and LED dimmable lighting.

I predict there will be a continued appetite for pale/ white interiors which will fuel innovative ways of delivering this with more finishes and layered whites for interest. I think kitchen cabinets will stay pale but be available in silk or two textured finishes as they move away from gloss and lacquered finishes. Available woods will become paler and more Nordic.
I think we will see more textured wall finishes such as wall panels and I think lighting will become more sophisticated allowing us to select warm or cool white from our lighting sources depending on outside light levels and time of day.
I think the new metal will be burnished brass and available in kitchen handles, light switches and accessories.
I predict a warm summer and inevitably greater spend on outside living with French chic plates and glasswear and more solutions to keep us in the garden with increased choices of patio heaters and soft lighting to enjoy lazy summer evenings and cooler mornings.
Let's check in a years time and see if anything came true? I hope so.

Wireless Showers are proving very popular this year. Also we are finding our most popular designs are with minimal tiling and taking full advantage of the Farrow and Ball colour range for the walls and ceiling.

Coloured Towel Rads are also selling well....

We have noticed that high gloss sprayed finishes are on the way out and more natural materials and eggshell finishes are being chosen.
