Artwork/prints for bare walls

I'd love some suggestions for how to best 'dress' the walls of my dining area (one end of a kitchen diner)... I'm not sure if prints, artwork or something entirely different would look best. It's a big wall (wall opposite fireplace) and could do with something large. currently the dining space feels very empty. Has anyone got any good suggestions? Pics included show the kitchen side of this room which is more contemporary. The setting is a Victorian house with lots of original features. I quite like the mix of old and new so very open to suggestions.
TIA

Hello. I think a bold painting would look great, something that adds some texture & colour. Love your light fitting & herringbone flooring. Best, CPI

    HI,

I recommend this, a beautiful but quirky art wall panelling system: It can be used in any room :

    or something more plain:

or this wooden effect wall panels:

If you'd rather have one or two bigger pieces, I think some prints or framed vintage posters could work. Have a look on Artfinder for some original works.

    Hi,
We recently completed a feature wall in a kitchen that had a similar predicament as your room.

The client opted for microcement to make the whole wall a statement rather than hang a few pictures.

Microcement is a 3mm thick layer of special resins and cements and is trowelled on to produce stunning effects. It's water proof and highly durable aswell!

The pictures of the kitchen I mentioned are here but please feel free to have a look at the website www.wallstothefloor.com to see more of what we do.

    Best, Maxim

I'd go for two or three posters, perhaps a couple of different sizes hung together. My gut feeling is to go for something that brings the outside in. So botanical, nature...

I love Marina's gallery wall of old masters. I know it's very on trend ATM but it obviously suits the style of house when it goes out of fashion! If you did like Marina's idea try oldmastersonline for cheap canvases, they frame but don't stretch canvases. If you want something bigger I'd try surface view, I'm about to order a canvas from there, I think it was £250 for one 900x1400. I might also get a much larger plant and maybe paint the radiators in the wall colour. The room looks great!

You have a lovely and tasteful space! I do agree with Camilla that large bold painting would look great as well as add a contemporary touch. For example something like this (with frame matching the table or the chairs and a satin gloss finish of the painting):

    Hi

We can only agree with the comments above, some artwork in particular will add some great depth to the room.

I would go for a big mirror! Your space is lovely but a wee bit dark. A mirror would me a huge difference opening the space up.

I think some soft furnishings would help. I would suggest a table runner and roman blind (curtains wouldn't work so well with the radiator underneath)

Thanks everyone. So many excellent suggestions. @rav1234 the flooring is from luxuryflooringandfurnishings.co.uk and whilst I love it, it does scratch quite easily :)

If you're looking for something new with an old twist, check out our Time For Wine Wall Hanging With Cork Deposit which would look amazing in a diner/living room as it has a rustic finish. - https://shabbystore.co.uk/time-for-a-wine-wall-hanging-picture.html

    Hi Sarah,

With the dark walls and contemporary feel, would recommend our stainless steel "line work" design

Stainless Steel Linework · Maggiori informazioni

Its something different and fairly large,
    The lights are optional

and if the linework design isn't quite right we do offer another 90 designs as standard,
