Navy living room
Hi all,
we're in the final stages of our extension most of our house is white or light so I'm tempting to create a dark cosy room. I'd love navy but I don't want to a whole wall so have a few questions:
should I put the darker colours in the alcove or on the chimney breast?
what complementing colours should I have for other walls and accessories. I love navy with copper/pinks but not sure how to create rhe look.
They still need to patch up the old fireplace wall but hopefully the picture gives a good idea.

Consiglio per living e cucina?
(7) commentiBuongiorno Valentina. Qui più che un consiglio servirebbe un progetto vero e proprio, per evitare errori di cui pentirsi in seguito e vivere al meglio la nuova casa. Sono d'accordo con Fabricamus: la zona a giorno è sottodimensionata rispetto alla zona notte e rendere la camera al piano terra singola e una delle due al piano superiore matrimoniale è un ottima soluzione.Non è l'arredamento ad essere sproporzionato, ma è lo spazio che è scarso. Se non fosse possibile dilatare la zona giorno, a grandi linee le consiglio di aumentare lo spazio contenitivo utilizzando tutta la parete di fondo della cucina e realizzando una penisola. Farei un mobile soggiorno sulla parete di 410 ed eliminerei un divano. Spero di esserle stata utile. (13) commentiGrazie @Laura Noè e @vecchiosetter, condividevo con voi quella soluzione proprio in virtù delle mie perplessità. Va detto però che la creazione di uno studio non è un elemento vincolante, in quanto mi basterebbe mezza mensola per appoggiare il pc e lavorare in smart working poco tempo alla settimana. Senza considerare il piano superiore che al momento non sarà oggetto di lavori. Non mi va di utilizzare una stanza solo per uso studio. La soluzione proposta da voi mi è stata comunque inviata, ma questa volta sono io che non voglio il divano difronte alla porta di ingresso. Ecco lo screen.... mostra di piùLiving room open concept

7 anni faIf the room is narrow I'd also paint the alcoves.
It's hard to find inspirations pics of your colour scheme. However I'd look at farrow and ball stiffkey blue paired with cornforth White. I'd go for a navy velvet sofa (get swatches now for when bank balance allows!) and perhaps pair with 1/2 accent chairs in a grey 1/2 shades darker than the walls. Use the pink for accessories, cushions, art, vases etc (blush pink works well with copper). Add pattern in curtains or a rug in perhaps grey and white but I wouldn't add any other colours as 4/5 should be max. The copper can be used for lighting, maybe a bowl, vase, side table etc. in terms of furniture something in wood would add warmth although using blush pink would be warmer than the pic!

I would suggest painting the chimney breast the darker colour as the fireplace is the main focus of the room, unless you bring the whole scheme into darks.. That doesn't mean gloomy either and you can add textures and beautiful accessories to lift the look and accentuate the dramatic aesthetic.. Here's a pic of mine which is all based on darks to help illustrate.. It's surprisingly light actually I find and it was taken on a greyish day.. If you're worried about the boldness of darker colours, start where you feel it's right and layer the look as you go.. Post pics of what you choose to do.. : ))
