11 anni faPersonally I love the strength depth of the color that's there. Dark brown almost black colored furniture will look super against this color and the blonde floors. Be sure to get a headboard too. Then redo the bedding to warmer colors that go well with the blue and dark brown and blonde. Perhaps a strong blue like the wall color for the duster on the bed and a goldish tan color for the coverlet. Then accent the bedding with one poppy red pillow and two larger golden yellow ones. Get a chair in a golden yellow and white, or white and medium blue colors with dark brown or black or white legs.SPACIALISTS

I almost always buy just a standard bed frame..no headboard and hang incredible pieces on the wall for the "headboard"..sometimes large art pieces, metal sculptures, plaques, framed painted trellis..it is endless. Choose your paint color last..always.Lori Cox
11 anni faDefinitely need a rug...for cozy. I think the blue is too bright for cozy and others have offered some nice color options. Good luck!elcieg

11 anni faA more muted color that contrasts with dark brown furniture. A beige, light gray, light blue, or light green would complement it well. I agree, you definitely need a rug to make it more cozy. And yes, buy bedding and rug first - try to stay in the color family - before you paint.Michael Phelps

ask them to send you swatches for .50 a piece. Choose your wall colors then. And do a two tone effect. Do one wall one color, the rest a coordinating color.Add a rug to warm it up.nancy22032
11 anni faI think Jayme is right - these soft colors are much more relaxing - the strong colors are stimulating and not conducive to a quiet rest. I have a large sleigh bed in dark and painted the wall behind it a soft blue-green - it was beautiful. The blue-green really complemented the dark wood.design ino
11 anni faHav you considered wallpaper ...there are some great products out there nowadays that can be put on easily and removed EASILy ...when you want to redo the room in the future. It can make the room feel cosy and with the right pattern a gorgeous feel with the dark timbered furniture.Pyramid Design Group Architects
11 anni faTHE PAINT COLOR SHOULD BE CHOOSEN LAST. FIRST CHOOSE NEW BEDDING, AREA RUG ETC--THEN PICK A PAINT COLOR THAT WORKS. IF YOU GET DARK FURNITURE ARE YOU PLANNING ON DOING ANYTHING WITH THE FLOOR--IE REFINISHING IT DARKER? ALSO THE PICTURES ARE TO SYMETRICAL. TRY LEAVING THE LARGE PICTURE AND MOVING THE ONE ON EITHER SIDE. MAYBE PUTTING THE ONE ABOVE THE OTHER ON ONE SIDE OF THE LARGER PICTURE.tilander
11 anni faIt's the mixture of textures along with pops of color and things you love that will make it right for you. I had a dark blue bedroom that was super cozy so go with what you love!sonriewife
11 anni faI would do all the frames in one color, They are your focal point or an accent.Wider Black. There is a warm wheat color at Home depot. It is beautiful in all light ( I live in Oregon don't know what kind of light you get). Match the bed linens to the wall Not exactly . contrast the pillows with the wall and match a few s well. Get a cozy rug with some tans teal, greens, and yellows . They can be a bit less subdued. And gauze curtains. Always lighting is important. A cream shade with a warm inviting bulb. On General electric each bulb tells what kind of light it produces. I wouldn't get more than a 30. Gauze or purple cotton but filtering curtains.I agree wDont think too much go with your instinct,,,ith texture.sonriewife
11 anni faThat flower picture would look great in a wood frame above the bed and put the black and whites above the glass door or on another wall?sonriewife
11 anni faWhich of the pics do you like the best that people submitted? I like the colors in the polk dots. even if not polka dots.you could use the teal the yellow and add the black frames and I love the Royalton. blue is a cool color but you can warm it up with brown if you live in a place with lots of sun and you don't have depression.detbrym
11 anni faI would change the wood flooring to a darker shade as well. You might also want to try a neutral color on the walls, to highlight the furnitures.cyn222
11 anni faPick your favorite color. The light wood will keep the room modern and brighter with dark wood furniture.theeyeshaveit
11 anni faWhat about repainting the room in a soft yellow or a very yellowish olive shade. Remove the art to use in another room. If you plan to keep the bed, you need a tall headboard such a tall tufted one. Replace bed pillows with ones that are larger and more firm looking in addition to using a large square Euro set of pillows. Use large/tall wall sconces instead of table lamps. If you prefer table lamps, the lamps should be taller with a bit more bulk in the bases and shades than the ones shown since the bed is so large. The height of the nightstands should be about even with the height of mattress. Add a rug with a large but muted color design in the colors of the wall and bed linen with an additional red or orange in the design. Good luck.sonriewife

11 anni faWow. Good luck. So many beautiful colors. Like your blue too. I have a very pale soft green, gray color on the walls with a very light cream silk drape with soft pale blue, gray accents with white on wood trim. I feel like I wake up on a cloud or pile of soft pillows it is so calming and soothing. I have dark wood furniture. It is stunning, decorated by a professional designer.Dee Joy
11 anni faI really like Jamie Hobbs suggestions! Silver Sage from Restoration Hardware is a beautiful and soothing color for a bedroom. It's very similar to what Jamie posted. That's what I have in mine and I LOVE it!!bevballew
11 anni faThat is probably similar to my bedroom color. It is like being in a cloud! Good you found your color!!Sue Gendle
11 anni faWhy not go very neutral then add accent colour to your bedding and furniture? That way you can change the linen, and have a new look every week if you want.Jayme H.
11 anni faAlthough I like it, Hog's Bristle looks too pinkish for the room..but screens can be deceiving...nice to learn of a new color.Wicked Walls
11 anni faGo a textured wallpaper for feature wall and then teh matching flat colour non textured wall paper for the rest of the room. Thats what I am doing for my master bedroomPatty Eades
11 anni faI like all of Jayme's color suggestions.....I have a soft aqua close to her pictures and everyone that comes to my home loves it.....and it blends so well with the grays that are so popular now.....good luckecci
