Where to hang curtains when you have headers???

Hi we are in the process of purchasing window treatments. We bough curtains but we have no idea where to hang them. We have headers over all our windows. We like that look and don't want to cover them up. Do we hang the rod over? In the middle? Or under?
Orr should I just choose a roman blind?
Any help appreciated!

    To hang drapery properly you should go total outside of the moldings both above and on both sides and drapery should hang to the floor. But if you love the look if that beautiful molding (and I do also) and don't want to cover it, use roman shades and mount inside the window frame.

    If you like the look of the headers and don't want to cover them up, I recommend roman shades. I had a similar scenario where I fabricated roman shades that were outside mounted( we didn't have enough depth to inside mount them). I put a small valence over the top to hide the shades mechanics. Hope this helps!
