Make sure you have walkable paths to all furniture and in and out of the space. If the floors are dark, keep upholstery light in color. Ultraleather Brisa is a great upholstery material which I had in St. Thomas was wonderfully comfortable, looked and felt like leather and was breathable and washable. i may have a good source for it. Watch out for sharp corners on tables that people may bang into..not fun! Isn't his photo I like the echo of the black leather chair and coffee table base. A rounder coffer table would be a better choice. Ideally you want to have a place for everyone to put a drink down. Armless or low arm sofas and chairs make this easier .
