Travel no travel/stay at home parent, working parent/raised by a nanny raised by a biological parent...those are not the factors that determine the bond between parent and child. People who want to be close are. Those that are far more into themselves or outside activities work or play aren't. Priorities make the differance. Everytime.

I think the flooring in the kitchen looks great with the cabinets. If that is real wood, absolutely continue that in the rest of the house.

I can't even wrap my head around tearing out wood to put in vinyl.
