Drawers are never a good place for charging stations let alone outlets for dryers, etc. Why? Simple reason is that 1. ventilation is necessary or heat builds up and 2. outlets in drawers generally require flexible wiring to a fixed wall socket. Therefore it is prone to pinching problems (open/close drawer; elongating/shortening of wiring) as well as ventilation of heat build up.
No, I'm not an electrician or code maker. My geek friend whom I've known for over 20 years who does all sorts of work both commercial and residential explained t hat the biggest problem in dealing with electronics of any type is having ventilation. Putting charges, routers, back ups, UPS, hard drives, printers, cameras, phones etc. inside an enclosed space of any kind including closets, drawers, boxes, etc. without good ventilation is risking an electrical fire.
Even if you leave a drawer open while charging, someone can some along and shut that drawer to get it out of the way. Just don't risk it.
