Cristiana Biraschi reveals Capalbio, Italy... the seaside village in an ancient coastal area of Tuscany. Cristiana is a talented Interior Designer based in Rome, and I wanted to feature her design work in a variety of my Santa Barbara Home Design ideabooks on Houzz. It is definitely worth checking out her entire project if you are a Californian seeking authentic Mediterranean design details for your home and landscape- Lots of inspiring, fresh and interesting ideas to soak in, from clay floor tiles (indoor floors and exterior landscape and pool decking), architectural details (interior and exterior), and elements too numerous to list here- you will just have to see for yourself (if interested in peeking in to projects like this).
A simple design for a brick and plaster fireplace hearth and non-fussy firebox opening in Albuquerque, New Mexico are showcased in this historic renovation project shared by Gayla Bechtol, an architect based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I have saved this image to my Spanish style floors ideabook as well, for those who seek quality ideas for their Spanish style homes (and landscapes).
Multiple photos showing how to make this beautiful fireplace is documented by Valérie Carreno & Frédéric Sautai of Montpellier, France. They are photographers and editors specializing in publishing, press and advertising in the fields of Architecture, Design and Lifestyle. It is worth checking out the 29 images they captured to help us understand how someone made their own fireplace columns. I am fascinated with the steps of making the box mold with common materials and how everything is planned in the "reverse" so when the parts are cast, they turn out the way they do. If you too are fascinated with Do it Yourself techniques, or are just curious- I would definitely recommend checking out Valérie and Frédéric's images on Houzz.
Nicole Facciuto, a Decorator based in Los Angeles, California shares a project there. The contemporary furnishings mixed with the classic, dark stained ceiling beams with decorative corbels and the interesting brick with deco tiles on the fireplace mantel are what caught my eye and imagination this morning. Nice work!
A special shot captured by Milano, Italia based pro photographer Erica Brenci. Erica has many other inspiring photos in projects within the ancient city of Massaria, Italy, and I am happy to save a bunch of them into my Houzz idea books, specifically for those Californians looking for authentic and artistic European ideas to incorporate into their Spanish style home and landscape designs.
I very much like the heavy grout lines on this local Santa Barbara, California outdoor stone fireplace. A nice balance between the natural, indigenous Santa Barbara sandstone with a subtle cream color in the grout (not standard, stock gray mortar) gives this fireplace a very high end, yet rustic elegance to the design composition. Photo and project shared by Chris Cottrell, a local Santa Barbara, California architect. Very nice work!
Mercè Gost shoots Masseria Il Frantoio in Italy. For Santa Barbara, California clients seeking to incorporate a fireplace into the master bathroom design, this project is worth looking at closer. This charming fireplace has a design that would work great in Spanish, French and Italian style projects. Mercè is a Lifestyle photographer who is based in Barcelona, España
Inspiration from a Corsica island... Nelly Bussac, of Paris France shares the project on Houzz. My eye was particularly drawn to the simple design of the fireplace surround with the hood detail above. This fireplace design will work well in traditional, as well as contemporary modern Spanish style homes (as well as French and Italian style homes).
Neutral + natural colors for this quality Spanish style home in Saratoga, California caught my eye, so I thought I would add the image and project to several of my ideabooks I am curating for those that seek unique and special high quality interior designs, materials and resource names for those specializing in Spanish home and landscape design. The image and project is captured by pro photographer Ryan Rosene of Carmel, California
A 1931 Spanish style fireplace renovation in Los Angeles, California, upgraded with subtle color deco tiles and a new hood above the mantel. The Echo Park project is shared by 2014 City of Pasadena Historic Preservation award winner Tim Braseth of Los Angeles, California. Tim is the owner of ArtCraft Homes, LLC, a design build firm based in LA.
Looking for designs + examples of Spanish fireplaces for my Santa Barbara Spanish style fireplace ideabook got me intrigued with this La Jolla, California property shared by The Nelson Brothers. Drew & Tim Nelson are realtors based in La Jolla, CA so if you are looking for a quality Spanish style home, they are the ones to look up!
Flavio Chiesa captures a shot in Milan, Italy. This charming photo of a rustic country home in Italy caught my eye for the charming oversized fireplace with stone mantel with plaster hood above. The oversized rectangular clay floor tiles installed on the diagonal is also very intriguing. Flavio is a pro photographer based in Pavia, Italy.
Beatriz Silveira of Madrid, Spain shares one of her Interior Design projects in Madrid. This photo caught my eye and I think it will be of great interest to my clients in California, Arizona, Texas and Florida USA... the ones who are designing Spanish style homes. This multi-layered coved and paneled ceiling is spectacular and I think the colors, designs and patterns within this image are world class for contemporary modern Spanish home decor. Nice job Beitriz!
A modern Spanish style home project in Land Park (Sacramento, CA) shared by Jonathan Mill, a design build firm based in Sacramento, California. I have saved several images of Jonathan's project into various Houzz ideabooks dedicated to those who are designing and building Spanish style homes and landscapes. It is worth checking out Jonathan's other images if you are looking for ideas for clean and crisp lines intermixed with classic elements like wood floors, wood windows, iron work and decorative Spanish tiles, etc.
A project by Nicoletta Carbotti of Torino, Italy. I thought there were some neat design ideas in this interesting project so I wanted to save several different images of the project into my ideabooks dedicated to Californian’s seeking authentic, artistic details for their Spanish style homes and landscapes.
Chris & Lennon of Santa Barbara, California based Central Coast Audio Visual share an inspiring Moroccan designed oceanfront home here.
