In 1920, Oscar Isberian, a young man from Wilmette, Illinois, co-founded Oscar Isberian Rugs with his brother Megerditch. The brothers traveled the world, and brought back the best of what they found to sell in their shop. That grew into Chicagoland’s premier Oriental Rug retailer, Oscar Isberian Rugs. Today, the third generation of brothers runs the business for the Family. With over 30 years of experience each, Oscar Tatosian and Sarkis Tatosian have also traveled the world and are considered experts at their craft.The brothers continue the tradition set by their Grandfather and Granduncle of discovering artisan rugs that will be in demand in their Chicagoland showrooms. We feature not only traditional patterns, but a wide range of transitional and contemporary designs. We also carry fine broadloom carpeting. We service what we sell - we have a world class cleaning and restoration service.

Oscar Isberian is my go-to rug gallery for my residential design projects. Mesrop Darien, my primary salesperson, is incredibly helpful with every aspect of the selection process for me as well as my clients. Rugs are delivered to the clients home at their convenience and they allow the homeowner to "live" with those in consideration for a few days before they make their selection. I have purchased a countless number of rugs from them over the past 20 years and have had nothing but a positive experience. I highly recommend them.

When you arrive at their store they offer you tea or water, they will patiently show you as many rugs as you have energy to view. Oscar Isberian has a range of pricing on their rugs from modestly priced to heirloom quality. Following your initial selections they will deliver the rugs for viewing in your home, in your light, with your furnishings. Throughout the process they are gracious and patient, wanting to make sure that you are thrilled with your selection. The best!
