Specialising in environmentally sustainable dwellings for urban, country and coastal environments as well as smaller additions & alterations. Our featured multi-unit projects illustrate our ability to innovate whilst utilising the existing landscape, and in many cases the existing structures at a particular site About Us: Our company has been designing homes and multi-unit apartments & townhouses for the last 13 years in the Canberra, South coast and Southern highland region. We are able to provide our services to small commercial and medical facility centres. Though based in Canberra, we also do work in regional NSW, the NSW South Coast and Sydney region and have done projects in Victoria, Tasmania & New Zealand. Speciality: Specialising in environmentally sustainable dwellings for urban, country and coastal environments as well as smaller additions & alterations. Our featured multi-unit projects illustrate our ability to innovate whilst utilising the existing landscape, and in many cases the existing structures at a particular site. Our fees are extremely competitive and our turnaround is fast and efficient.

We found Hugh online recommended for his approach to sustainable design and we were not disappointed. He has designed us an absolutely beautiful home that met all our requirements and had some great ideas. We live overseas and were concerned that trying to get across what we wanted via email and phone would be difficult but the process was enjoyable and Hugh helped us out every step of the way. We have just received approval and are on our way! Highly recommend Hugh

We found Hugh through a contact that was very happy with some work he had done for them. Heard he was good and competitively priced, so we we're a bit skeptical at first. Turns out he is absolutely amazing! He drafted a beautiful plan for us that met the brief exactly, very quickly - and I'm as picky as they come! He's very creative, contemporary in style, knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with - responsive and happy to make changes as requested. We were working to a 2 week timeframe and we are well on track!

I engaged Hugh to design my house at Throsby. It was absolute pleasure to work with him. The project took around 8 moths to complete due to many many changes i asked for, but he never disappoint me or make me feel uncomfortable to ask for those changes. He always listen and try to understand client's requirements and ideas carefully. He implemented so many innovative ideas in the project and produced an outstanding design for us. I am really thankful for all his effort, creativity, honesty, consideration and quick turn around for every changes i requested. It was wonderful and enjoyable to work with Hugh and learned a lot about house design. In short, he is well respected and highly recommended architect to work with and has converted our dream home into a architectural design. Thank you Hugh.

Absolute pleasure to work with Hugh. He is on time all the time and helped us throughout the approval process from ACTPLA. His costings were very reasonable. We are lucky to have him on board as our plans are a bit complicated being Mr. Fluffy duel occupancy houses. Even though our plans needed changes after public notification, Hugh helped us with his skills and understood the details and updated the plans accordingly within a week. (which generally takes 3 weeks) We have received our approval fairly quickly with his direct contact with ACTPLA. We will definitely take him again. Thanks Hugh. Regards, Hari and Suresh

With just a page of broad ideas, Hugh designed our new home for Yarralumla. With the concept agreed he then patiently over more than 12 months allowed us to change it again and again but always with good humour and relaxed attitude. The home is being built now and we really look forward to posting photo’s of it as we are really pleased with how its coming together and how we think it will be so liveable for our busy lives. I highly recommend Hugh as a creative but partnering architect!

As soon as we met Hugh we knew the design of our beach house would be a success. Hugh listened really well and rapidly interpreted our requirements to design our fabulous house. The site visit was critical. We watched as Hugh moved some design boxes around on his iPad to incorporate the views and the aspect. It was fun and easy working with Hugh. Highly recommended.

Hugh Gordon Architect and his team were very helpful and responsive, providing professional advice whilst allowing us to input to the project design. Hugh is very competitively priced, working on big and small projects in rural, city and coastal areas around Canberra. We are looking forward to building our sustainable home!

We went to Hugh with strong ideas about what we wanted, and the ambition to build a straw bale house, with good passive solar heating and cooling. Hugh was very sensitive to our budget limits and happy to go back and forth with major and minor modifications right through the process. He always answered our questions in a straightforward, reassuring manner. He also recommended our builder, who we have been very happy with.

I have worked with Hugh Gordon, Architect on a number of projects including my home.. It is a stunning, light, airy with great passive solar attributes.. we have been living in it for a few years and love it.. I recommend Hugh and his team to anyone in this area, for houses, industrial work and apartment living

Hugh has been excellent in helping us out with our container home design. Responsive to our requests, very supportive of eco-friendly ideas. He knows the region well, particularly where our build project is, and has taken the plans to the council for approval. For the work undertaken we think he is is very good value for money.

My wife and I engaged Hugh to design our 'forever house'. Hugh undertook a number of modifications to the plan to achieve the desired design and to achieve the brief that we sought to achieve. We have recently moved into our house and it is a wonderful house that was affordable due to simple and efficient design. Hugh recommended a number of builders and the builder chosen, BCT Constructions, did a wonderful job of delivering on the quality and the design that we had hoped for. Very happy.

We had the pleasure of working with Hugh Gordon Architect for a new house we are building. In the brief we told Hugh everything and anything we wanted to include, expecting Hugh to tell us that some of what we wanted wasn't possible. In fact, Hugh responded with "anything is possible!" He and his team were great to work with.
