A very expensive house with poor quality fittings throughout the despite upgrades. Items are failing (taps, light fittings, panels to decking), post the maintenance period. I had a double glazed window the inside panel of which failed and completely cracked which will cost around $1000.00 to replace. There was no impact and I was alone in the lounge room at the time it occurred. I sent photos to Anchor for repair but they refused to replace the Dynamic Windows built panel. A glazier has since inspected the window and informed that it is rare however double glazed windows can fail due to changes in heat and cold. I found Anchor homes' assistance in relation to this structural deficiency entirely poor. When I moved into the house it was filthy and excess items such as rolls of carpeting, underlay, and boxes of heavy tiles were left in the house for me to move. 7 metre boards from the decking were left in the front yard. Customer service across the board from this company is very poor.

Very helpful and friendly company on the surface however buyer beware that their pricing structure is incredibly skewed and their advertised prices mean very little when it comes to pricing a building contract. The are very accommodating and receptive of change to their generic plans but you will pay greatly for the privilege. I would only recommend them if your really like their base products (which incorporate a lot of very cheap fittings) and you have a budget above and beyond what their kits are priced at.

We were looking at prefabricated homes because we wanted a quick build time for our new home, and found that most companies were not too happy to customise to the level we wanted; they were all about a cookie cutter, standard module approach - that's fine for some, but not what we were after. Anchor Homes were very happy to work with us to design something to sit us, our lifestyle and our block. They had great ideas, and they were happy to listen to ours. It was a true collaboration, and in a short time we had a great design we loved. All the way through the process, we had contact with the build management team, the decorator team, and every person we met was really lovely - from our first contact to our last, you really know you're working with a family company whose employees love working there, and that gave us a lot of confidence going in, Anchor took care of permits, organised a local company to build some sheds and a garage setup, organised the septic installation - we didn't have to do anything, and it made things so much easier. The building process was ridiculously smooth and easy - because we live far away, we could only make a few trips to see the house in progress, but the staff sent us almost daily updates and photos so we could see the progress in real time. We made a few minor tweaks, nothing was a problem, and the installation on site was amazing to watch. After the buildings 'landed' we had 3 small cracks (after a 200km trip!) and they were fixed before we knew about them. That's the kind of service we're talking about here. This all sounds like a cliche, but it's all true. I work in building, and I see a lot of poor building practices, and for a long time that put me off. For me, this is the only way to go, and they are the best in terms of quality, pleasure to work with, great support and most of all, they were significantly more cost effective than many in the game. I cannot speak highly enough of Anchor - I will never build again unless I do it with them.

Anchor Homes built a home for me at their factory in Stratford Victoria and transported it to my land in Bowral NSW, they arranged connection of services built a carport and garden shed and finished all work ready for occupation. The house was based on their Tambo design, they customised the design to my requirements, the end result is better than I expected, any issues were dealt with in a professional and timely manner. They quickly determined the style I preferred and made excellent suggestions, nearing completion the positioning of the house on the land had to be altered due to the Surveyor making an unexpected change, what was a very stressful point in the process was resolved with the minimum of fuss. I was updated each week with a report and images of the build, something that I particularly enjoyed. I would use Anchor Homes again.
