John and Erwin were with us every step of the way and were wonderful to work with. What could have been a stressful and frustrating experience was actually very easy and enjoyable. The turnaround time for the finished product and the cost were quite reasonable. I highly recommend MossCreek to anyone looking for high quality plans they are sure to love.

We used MossCreek to design a legacy property in Idaho for our family. This home is a complex, 7000 sq.ft. build consistent with the rustic style of the mountain west. We worked with Allen Halcomb on this design from the beginning. He was excellent in helping us understand what we wanted and translating that into a design which addressed all our aspirations. From the beginning, he listened carefully to our likes and dislikes, and used them to draft plans for our review. He willingly listened to our thoughts about the plans as they matured and helped fine-tune them to the final product. He was a joy to work with and helped us realize a dream property. MossCreek saved my love of building. Prior to 2009 I was VP of a mid-sized custom home construction company in Nashville. I had 6 superintendents, 12 projects valued in excess of $21 million working 60 hours a week. I bought a 10 acre tract and while I worked on cleaning it up and opening up the creek area for a mini state park I started looking into log homes and home styles that excited me. Looking though a Log Home magazine I saw a MossCreek ad (full page) with several really cool looking homes. The floor plans and the artist renderings were amazing. I was immediately revved up by the design. The Deer Valley plan just blew me away. I had never seen such cool architecture in a 2400 sq. ft. Home. I knew I had to work with this company. My wife and I decided to build a home for my daughter on 5 acres next to our home that we already owned and I was starting to get some interest in the land and possible customs and I knew it was time to gear up. I contacted MossCreek to help me modify a Roaring Fork plan. John Wallace worked with me on the design and it was a real pleasure. He made the modification quickly for a very fair price. I was hooked. We have completed 3 projects together at this point and I hope to do many more. MossCreek has helped me in more ways than I can tell you. They brought back my love of building. I actually dread it when the client says they have an architect or already have a plan.

Allen Halcomb, President of MossCreek, arrived in Vancouver with design paper in hand to visit and study our sloping waterfront property on Bowen Island, British Columbia. Allen is the consummate architect, artist, and businessman who is supported by a team of architectural professionals from Knoxville Tennessee. Together they created a custom rustic design for our family's vacation cabin, manipulating the many details to meet the demands of our steep slope, our view of Howe Sound, and our existing mature cedar trees. Patiently and painstakingly, Allen drew and re-drew house plan details until the square footage, site position, and design were just perfect for us!

I can not recommend the team at Moss Creek enough! The process was both exciting and professional. They are like the missing piece of a puzzle for a creative vision. Our work with them as designers for our new home started with a visit to their office where the creative process really sparks. They will ask you very thoughtful questions and start immediately drawing your spaces as bubbles on vellum, defining the space and layout around you. From there, layer upon layer of vellum are stacked on each other and the shape and form of your floor plan grow. An artists facad is drawn (again in front of you) and your dream house is right there before your eyes! We fully intend to frame ours. Within a few days they will email you much more defined drawings and work with you extremely closely to tweak it to your specifics. The amazing thing about the team is that their support doesn't stop in the least after you have plans! They will be there on a moments notice to work through challenges that arrive during the build and the end result will work, and work well. To sum up, Moss Creek is the first company I would suggest to someone looking to design their dream reclaimed modern home. One happy customer and family over here for sure!

I used Moss Creek to help us design a 3,800 sf second home located on top of a hill with a 360 degree view. I didn't want the typical vaulted ceiling hard to heat and cool (and hear) and dark interior. Alan helped us come to a layout quickly after visiting the site and taking in the views. He also helped us with some of the key features and suppliers of the major interior and exterior elements. I was fortunate to have lots of building materials salvaged from on property as well as craftsmen to repurpose them. The house incorporates the latest infrastructure (geothermal heating and cooling and spray foam insulation) without losing the aesthetics we wanted. Alan was prompt, efficient and helped us get moving on the construction far faster than any other architect that I have worked with.

Allen and the entire MossCreek team have been great to work with! They are very professional in all facets of the plan process and design an awesome home. Appalachian Antique Hardwoods is a reclaimed material supplier that works closely with MossCreek and incorporates it's natural wood products in their homes. We have worked with them on hundreds of projects over the years all over the country. Worked with MossCreek on the" Roosevelt with modifications";hybrid timber-frame mountain home; now constructed,located in Cherokee County N.C.;at a cost of about seven hundred thousand dollars.MossCreek receives my highest recommendation in regards to the working relationship and the deliverables supporting the final design.The design team was headed by John Wallace,a seasoned professional.

We identified MossCreek as a potential designer for a new vacation home after a lengthy search. Our initial identification of the Company came from an ad in a log home magazine. Our initial review of the company's website was thoroughly impressive. The type of architecture was exactly what we envisioned for our property. The examples and descriptions and floor plans on the website were abundant, and to us, well laid out and complete. We believed the website to be professionally done and very user friendly. Our interaction with both Alan Halcomb and John Wallace from MossCreek was both professional and personal. We were impressed with their attentiveness and communication process and ultimately visited their offices in Tennessee to finalize our plan which had been selected from their existing inventory of plans and modified to meet our needs. The process of plan modification, primarily related to upstairs bedrooms, maximizing the use of light on the first floor, and importantly, adding a third floor in the form of a walkout basement level with space for three additional bedrooms and two bathrooms and living area went smoothly and required minimal time as John Wallace, our primary architect, understood our needs/desires and modified the Bitterroot plan to meet requirements and site location specifics. MossCreek was up front with a fee structure to acquire a plan and informed us, in advance, of cost associated with plan modifications to meet our needs, both of which we believe were very reasonable relative to the outstanding quality and value we have received. We are very excited to move forward with construction of our home and it is due in great part to MossCreek and their involvement in our process. Extremely professional, personal and helpful to us. Allen Holcomb and his team at MossCreek were amazing to work with. Together we turned our dream into a reality with a timber frame home that won award after award and is without question a showplace. With his unique hand drawn sketches, we literally watched our dream house develop before our eyes. MossCreek are so professional and well organized and once the sketches become CAD, changes are easy and accurate. His attention to detail, knowledge of log and timber frame and ability to address the project creatively as well as value engineer it along the way, allowed us to achieve a much greater and more beautiful result than we ever thought possible within our budget. .

My wife and I have a love for rustic cabin homes, rooted in some wonderful family vacations we took in the mountains of Western North Carolina. When we decided to build our own rustic cabin as a summer retreat, we concentrated our search for property in the Highlands/Cashiers area of North Carolina. We knew we wanted an architectural style that combined the use of reclaimed or antique logs, timbers, bark siding, twig accenting, and hand cut stone as if it were built by carpenters and stone masons in the 1800's on site. We also wanted to combined modern amenities, like a luxurious master bath and bedroom, chef's kitchen, and a temperature controlled wine room into the design. We knew we needed to find the right architectural firm to capture our vision for the home and make it a reality. After doing some pretty exhaustive research, we found all roads led to Moss Creek Design out of Knoxville Tennessee. After meeting on site with the firm's principal, Allen Halcomb, and spending just two days in the preliminary design process, he nailed it. Allen and his team remained completely involved in the design and construction process to insure our dream home became a reality. Our home, and its design, has been the feature of many magazine and publication articles. We could not be happier with the decision to use Moss Creek as our architects.

MossCreek provided an architectural design for a remodel/addition project to our second home in Estes Park, Colorado. We are currently under construction with the first phases of the project. The design was done in close cooperation with us, and we dictated certain features that they incorporated into a design that utilizes much of the existing house while giving it an entirely new exterior character and rustic appearance. The main part of the addition is a 550 s.f. master suite, second floor bathrooms and bunk room, with a full basement under the addition.
