And so here we are almost seven years later and once again, we have been fortunate enough to work with Bea, on our latest project, a sweet little victorian. All that has been said in the past remains true.Bea, the consummate negotiator, moved us through colour selection before considering the needs of the only bathroom on the 2nd floor of the house. Yes, the fixtures would be updated but in collaboration with the past, which demanded respect. Bea and her staff worked with urgency and tirelessly to design a solution that would be functional and aesthetically pleasing. Bea considered the opinions of suppliers, and waited on contractors to give this project birth. This story is a work in progress, as the goods have been ordered and received, the chosen contractor is ready and construction begins next week...

Bea brought a wealth of design experience and product knowledge to our conversations about a variety of projects. Bea understands that the spaces where people live, should bring joy and comfort to the lives of the people who inhabit them. Her intuitive knowledge of colour drew us to her at the outset. All projects were brought in on time and completed within the proposed budget. Bea, the consummate diplomat, resolved many of the differences of opinion that my husband and I had over colour and finish selections. Her knowledge and connection with the trades people meant a quick resolution to many little pesky problems. Our first project involved picking out colours and wall coverings for a new home. We were so pleased with the experience that we called on Bea for the second project, the rehabilitation of a three bedroom condo, which suffered from neglect. When viewing the space with the Real Estate Agent, it was apparent that the dear old doll, needed a new dress. Once again Bea rose to the challenge, selecting colours, luxurious fabrics and finishes for all the rooms in our new home. It was during this time that Bea was invited to bid on a larger project to refurbish the lobby of our building. Bea skillfully negotiated the design and selection of furniture, lighting, carpet, fabrics, colours and finishes with the condo 'decorating committee'. The fourth project addressed the needs of a new a apartment. Again, Bea listened patiently to our desires and provided a variety of fabulous design options.
We have always enjoyed working with Bea and Jim and their staff in the past and look forward to continuing the relationship in the future.”

“Working with Sappho and the Hen House team was an ultimate pleasure. From the starting stages of idea building to design to finished product we couldn't have asked for a better team to engage in collaboration. During our kitchen renovation, Sappho devoted much time and attention to designing a living space that combined elements of both function and beauty. She was able to align her ideas with our thoughts on what we wanted and offered honest feedback concerning what would work and what wouldn't. Being first time renovators, Sappho provided us with the right level of guidance to ensure an even flow to implementation, and thanks to that assistance all things fell together beautifully. Joe, the cabinet maker made dealing with an old house look easy. With cabinetry reflecting the finest degree of workmanship, unexpected complex problems were handled thoughtfully with an end product even better than the original design element. Denise took care of finishing the built cabinets and thanks to her diligence and attention to detail we have beautiful hues and colour throughout our kitchen space. Finally, the small unexpected extras were a step beyond what was required and made us feel that we were in good hands throughout the project. We moved into a large two-bedroom apartment that was various shades of orange throughout, and knew we needed to repaint, but had no idea where to begin in choosing colours. Jasmine arrived armed with good listening skills, great insights, focused suggestions, and huge paint chips to illustrate her vision and to helps us better imagine what different colours would look like on our walls.
