He understood exactly what we needed and helped us with design and sourcing of the right tiles as well as carrying out the work with an exceptional level of craftsmanship. We had been looking for years for someone with the necessary knowledge of working with period features combined with the practicality of gas installation and I'm so relieved that we found Nick to do the job. He left the house immaculate once he was done and was always courteous and polite even when I was dithering over styles! And as if his overall service was not enough, when we had made a mistake in the quantity of tiles, he has offered to come back and fit the remaining 2 tiles. Would recommend to anyone looking to restore or replace their fireplace, especially those looking for period detail.”

“Brian Schofield of Sherwood Fireplaces and Stoves provided us with an excellent service from start to finish when he installed a solid fuel stove for us. Friendly, professional, informative and centred on providing us with what we needed. He spent a good hour with us at the initial visit, making sure he understood what we wanted and then going through a range of options to ensure we would get the right stove for our home. This outshone the competition and gave us full confidence that we would be getting a quality service, confidence that was fully born out. His written quotation was prompt, clear and comprehensive - we knew exactly what we would be getting. Brian was on-site to ensure the scaffolding company provided the right framework. That was unexpected but showed a great attention to detail. We were having other work done at our home and Brian's efforts in liaising with our builder and timing the installation to fit in with the other works was greatly appreciated. His flexibility really demonstrated a customer-is-king attitude and made our life so much easier. The stove and chimney installation went smoothly and all the mess was cleared away. The stove looked great but needed to be left for a day before being lit.. This is where Brian again went over and above what his competitors provide when he returned to check the stove and chimney and demonstrate the best way to get it lit and manage the stove. Sherwood Stoves provided a great service and, while not cheap, charged a very fair price. I would recommend them without hesitation.”

They provide an excellent service form start to finish holding your hand all the way through from initial home survey, design, choice of stoves through, fitting to completion . “Many thanks to Mark Hutton for a superb job in fitting our lovely Riva 2 stove. Mark was extremely helpful in assisting us to make the right choice of stove. The work was carried out with total efficiency by Mark and his colleague Bob Carver (Chimney Crete), who fitted the chimney liner and cowl. Mark left the house clean and tidy each evening and the work was carried out within the promised three days. “After much searching, I chose a Cast Iron Fireplace with Electric Insert as the reviews were all amazing, the look was exactly what I was after, and the price was far less than many other companies. Fireplaces 4 Life have been brilliant to deal with. I called and asked many questions, I wanted a special hearth which they organised without a trouble, and it was delivered on the day of my choice by a very helpful courier to even lifted it upstairs for me. The fireplace itself is exquisite. Honestly, I'm very fussy (just ask my painter!), and I could not find one that I prefer even if my budget was unlimited. I haven't installed it yet as the livingroom isn't finished, but the process was easy and smooth from beginning to end, the fireplace is exactly as pictured in Fireplace 4 Life's photos (the pics look so good that you'd expect they are heavily photoshopped - but the fireplace honestly is that exquisite and shiny (I chose a polished one)), and the dimensions on the website are spot on (which made it easy to prepare the space for it before it arrived). I cannot recommend them enough, and I will be using them again in the future. Thanks very much!”

“I am very happy with the three fires they put in. 2 electric and a lovely wood burner. Everyone comments how nice our fireplace looks. There was an old boiler behind the original fire now it is clean and smart and the heart of the home. The family are very nice to deal with cheerful and friendly and helpful and I had confidence they knew what they were doing. Would recommend them anytime.”

“From not really knowing what we wanted when we walked into the show room of the Fire-Centre , we walked out with so much advice from Ian and Andrea that it was so easy to make a decision on the fire that we really liked . Nothing was too much trouble and they patiently answered every question that we asked. They kept us informed of all the progress of the ordering and when it was best for us for the installation. On the day of fitting, the two installers were Johnny and Chris and they were absolutely fabulous, nothing was too much trouble for them and they made the whole installation brilliant. We had ordered brick slips for the fire chamber but when they knocked out the chimney breast we found that the original chamber was intact so we decided to go with the original part of the house rather than the brick slips that they would have been putting on, Ian immediately sent me a refund of the cost of the slips which was 350 pounds which to us was excellent service ,it was more work for the fitters as they had extra plastering work to do as they advised us to have it feathered into the brick to make it look like it had always been like that , We felt like Johnny was a perfectionist to get the finish of the edging just right and we loved that he was because it came across that he was passionate about his work. The finished product that we have, is a fire that is outstanding, slate that is just quite beautiful and a beam that is gorgeous and we would give this company a 10/10 for their service and their attitude and we would not fail to recommend the company and the fitters to anyone.”
