“We're an English couple who bought an old farmhouse to renovate and modernise in the Asti region. We were fortunate to find Marcello's profile on an internet search and, of all the contractors we have worked with on the project, Marcello has stood head and shoulders above the others for his professionalism and dedication to the project. In fact, we contacted Marcello before we had even committed to buying the house, and so he actually started "working" for us before we had even made any formal agreements with him. He advised and guided us on all aspects of the property we chose, from actually buying the property to securing permits and making detailed drawings and renders of the finished product. In England, you would be lucky if you saw your architect once a month on a big project, but the time Marcello has spent on-site supervising the work and making changes at our request is staggering. It is no exaggeration to say he has been involved in every stage of the design and build, from initial inspection of the site, to choosing kitchens and bathrooms. In all of this he has been kind enough to act as our unofficial interpreter and liaise directly on our behalf with contractors and suppliers. In short, whilst you can project-manage a build such as ours yourself, the reality is that, without Marcello, not only would we have found this impossible with our limited language skills and knowledge of Italian practices and bureaucracy, but both the budget and timescale would have surely spiralled out of our control.
