Don and Kyo helped us with interior design for our home, and 3 offices - both residential and commercial. What I appreciated the most about them was that they had our future plans in mind when they made recommendations, and saved us a lot of costs and headaches in doing so. They were always available when we had questions, were very professional and pleasant. Had good taste and would create concepts that made sense to us. I could not recommend them more for all residential and commercial needs.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would! I have used Don and Kyo as design consultants for both my home, and more recently, my dental office. I didn't want a cookie-cutter, sterile design typical of most dental offices but something with more of a cozy and comfortable feeling that was similar to home. I get repeat compliments from many of my patients saying how great my office "feels" and inquiries about who helped renovate my office. We had an amazing experience working with Don and Kyo. Our project was to fully decorate and furnish a tiny pied-a-terre. The communication and collaboration all needed to be done remotely. Don and Kyo created a wonderful jewel box for us from a completely blank slate. From custom furniture, to lighting, to reimagining spaces, to adding shelving and built-ins they created a perfect space for us in a tiny footprint. They worked with the HOA when dealing with construction approval, as well as the building staff for move in and preparation. Being Builder allowed me to work with many designers through out the years and Don and Kyo are the best ones I've worked with! One of my client hired them to work on their full gut renovation back in early 2020 and this is how we met. They are very organized and detail oriented and quick to response through email, texts and phone calls. They are always on time for site meetings and meeting various deadlines for ordering or renderings. Their drawings are very clear and easy to understand. Most importantly, Don and Kyo are willing to listen to sub-trade's suggestions and work with them and the owner to modify designs based on actual job site situations. Don and Kyo are amazing! For phase 1 of the project, all I had to do was make selections of the materials I liked and then they took care of everything else: elevator bookings with concierge, construction, re-flooring, painting, new amenities, electrical work, working with the appliance company etc. This was especially helpful for my busy schedule. We’re now onto phase 2. Ive been very pleasantly surprised with how seamless this has been.

When we bought our two level detached house, we knew we needed to do a complete renovation job to update the look of this 55 year old home. Without a doubt we knew who we were going to turn to. Don and Kyo had helped us design our townhouse interior a few years back and we absolutely loved them. They got along really well with our contractor and wasn't afraid to make their own suggestions. And many times their advice was the one we went for. My husband didn't feel comfortable making any big decisions unless we ran it by them first. As repeat clients, it was even easier working with them this time around because they knew our style and preferences already. Knowing we are a young family, Don and Kyo always had our budget in mind and wasn't afraid to suggest more budget-friendly options. We definitely appreciated Don's honest opinions and Kyo's insightfulness. We love the transformation of our home and Zwada was a big part of it.

We asked Zwada to help with major renovations to our kitchen, ensuite bathroom, and main bathroom. We had ideas of our own, but wanted details about benefits and drawbacks. For example, what materials and fixtures looked good but weren’t practical for our needs? Or what materials are difficult to repair, what surfaces give surer footing, what other possibilities hadn’t we considered? We were extremely happy with the result. And the price was very economical. Two separate friends had recommended Zwada. We compared them to another designer we consulted, and found that Zwada listened more attentively while adding better ideas. The combination of listening and adding was what we needed. Basically we overhauled the kitchen and both bathrooms. The practical goal was to allow us many years of independent living as we age, whether we remain healthy or start to decline. We also had a couple of current ailments to consider. Our aesthetic goal was to add a bit of zip to our condo’s appearance. We were therefore concerned about everything from materials and durability to attractiveness. Because we knew more or less what we wanted, Zwada suggested that our principal arrangement be with the contractor. This saved us money while ensuring that we had the potential for two different perspectives on any question, Zwada’s and the contractor’s. They had worked with the contractor before, so cooperation was easy. Zwada stayed in close touch with the project as it went along. Our ensuite now looks ultra-attractive. But we also have grab bars, a softer counter, an extended shower, better lighting, a superb floor, and cabinetry and faucets that are easier to use. The colour scheme is a riveting white-marble and black. The dual showerhead allows for both overhead and handheld spray. Zwada helped to open up the room. It now seems twice the size it was. We opted for a pocket door for safety reasons, but it also gives us more space. Zwada came with us to help choose tiles and fixtures. Their knowledge of suppliers and materials was key. They also helped with deliveries, quantity of material needed, and so forth. Zwada impressed us by going the extra mile. Whatever question we asked, they were happy to oblige. They were easy to talk to. Guests would use our main bathroom (after Covid), so its design had to be more transitional than the ensuite. But again Zwada’s dual focus on utility and aesthetics gave us a room that’s warm, safe, and attractive. Similar observations can be made about the kitchen. It seems larger and brighter than before. We have more counter space, better lighting, cupboards and drawers that are easier to use, more storage, a new faucet, and a sink that suits our needs. We were pleasantly surprised how Zwada were able to make health, safety and accessibility their top priorities while also creating rooms of beauty. All for a very reasonable price. I recommend Zwada for knowledgeable, sensitive, and creative design work.

Don and Kyo from ZWADA were recommended to me by a good friend and I am so glad she did!!! I had just purchased a condo that I recognized as having good bones and I wanted to remake it with a personal and unique vibe. Don, Kyo and I spent a lot of time getting to know each other developing both respect and trust for whatever was thrown into the mix. Don and Kyo's recommendation for a contractor was superb. The first thing chosen for the gutted condo was the incredible unique shower tiles and then the rest just started to happen. Don and Kyo have guided me in every direction from beginning to end. If you are looking for a designer, we strongly and unreservedly suggest you talk to Zwada Design, Don and Kyo. On the spur of the moment, we sold a house we loved and downsized to a condo. We had made the house truly our own and were concerned whether we could create the same feeling in the new place. With Don and Kyo’s help, we now have a furnished condo that we love, so that we don’t miss the house at all. How did Don and Kyo do it? First of all, we agreed that for our purposes it would be a slow process. At the beginning, they spent a great deal of time ensuring that they understood our aesthetic values. They looked at photos of our old house, talked about what we wanted, and little by little developed plans. They talked to us about our art and art glass collection, what it meant to us, and how it might fit into the condo.The process was incremental and there was much back and forth, but the important part is that it all came together wonderfully. Once they had idea of what we wanted, Don and Kyo offered choices and suggestions. Some of these choices were different from what we might have thought of on our own, and yet, as soon as we saw photo or the plan, we realized that it fitted in with our vision. From furniture, to carpeting, paint schemes, wallpaper, art placement, and some minor structural additions, their suggestions were spot on. They also took us to suppliers that we would not have found or have been able to access on our own. I recently moved into a bigger living space than I was previously accustomed to. This time, the challenge wasn't fitting a ton of things into a smaller space. Rather, it was about setting up my home with an elegant mix of lighting, artwork, furniture, and functionality. Zwada Home took care of everything from A-Z: they helped me source furniture from across Canada through their network of suppliers (there was only 1 model of my couch left, and it was in Montreal - I live in West Vancouver), took me to art galleries to select paintings, and fully furnished and set up a home office in my spare room. I am very thankful and grateful for their hands-on care, and attention to every minor detail. I feel like no stone was left unturned. I love coming home to relax after work, as well as inviting family and friends over on the weekends.

Don and Kyo of ZWADA Home were quite simply amazing. From the moment we contacted them we felt their signature blend of genuine warmth and professional expertise. This was such a relief after our initial experiences with a couple of other designers found on this same website. The initial home visit just confirmed that impression. They listened to our vision and navigated with grace and patience the occasional differences in vision between my husband and myself. They were absolutely patient with my changing ideas, yet firm when they did not think something would work or that there was a better alternative. We were not once steered in a direction or made a choice we are not 100 percent happy with. Don and Kyo have made my first time experience in renovation a generally seamless experience. It was great working with them! We have been working together since July of this year and they have been there to guide and assist me throughout the process. They took an effort to get to know me and my needs and were there to make sure that the end result was what I wanted. My loft looks beautiful and they were able to make my dreams come true. Don and Kyo at Zwada home helped me design and outfit my apartment from new. From planning the closet setup and wallpapering to staging my decor and furniture to creating an art station for my paints and canvas, they turned the 700 sq ft. space into a warm, interesting, and personal place. Don and Kyo were able to bring to reality the atmosphere and picture I envisioned for my home. They listened to my thoughts (which changed as the project progressed) and suggested new ideas for me to consider. They were always available and accommodating. I first heard about ZWADA through a friend of mine who just hired ZWADA to work on their apartment. Having recently acquired a 25 years old apartment which everything is original form 1990, I decided that the apartment need a fresh update and renovation. Originally, I wanted to hire ZWADA to do the complete renovation for me. However, as the summer time is very busy, they do not have contractor that can do the job on my timeline. Therefore, I decided to use their service as a consultant instead. Don and Kyo are truly an amazing people. They provide me with ideas and help me selecting material and colour for my kitchen, floor, window and wall. They are very professional and gave you multiple option after you explain what you want to them. They can adjust to your budget and find a solution within your budget. We have hired ZWADA to take care of our new apartment and I couldn't have a better experience than that as they were super fast, dedicated, cost effective driven - as we had a limited time and budget. They were phenomenal and I can't wait to hire them again for transform my future new property!

Don and Kyo have provided design services related to our penthouse in downtown Vancouver, more specifically, the front entrance and hallway, living room area and den and most recently, the master bedroom. They are professional, knowledgable, personable and such a pleasure to work with. They guided our purchase of numerous custom made pieces from several of their suppliers which we are extremely happy with. After years of renting, my husband and I bought our first home in 2012 - a new condo in North Vancouver. It was a beautiful & bright space, but had the cookie-cutter feeling of a temporary home/rental. Bringing very little with us in the move, Don and Kyo were able to work within our budget to fully furnish and decorate the space. They transformed the neutral condo into a warm & comfortable home that suited our taste. Initially we did shop for a few interior designers in Vancouver before we decided to go with Zwada home...We loved the fact that Don and Kyo right away were interested in seeing our place in person even if we may have not decided to work with them yet for our home. We find them to be very professional and realistic that they preferred to see the space to actually see how we can work with our given budget, while we surprisingly find other named designers were hardly interested in coming to see our place, but to "guesstimate" how much money we need to put in their work. We knew right away that we wanted to work with Zwada after talking to them on the phone. Don and Kyo are so easy to work with; they are very willing to listen to our ideas and tell us straightforwardly what will work and won't. Don and Kyo always explain to us why they choose certain types of furniture and how it will work in space in the long run.. Not to mention that they also always ask us if we like or dislike their ideas. They are very detail-oriented yet they always look at the big picture at the same time. Since we have a baby, we asked them to choose kid-friendly, durable furniture so our baby won't have any problem with the furniture and they will last for a very long time. They would come up with a few ideas and give us alternatives to choose from. We love how we are able to save money by mixing some of the furniture from high-ends retailers as well as more budget friendly ones and still look very amazing. Even our friends thought that the IKEA furniture used at our home were custom-built and/or from a luxury furniture shop. I should mention that they are very respectful of our ideas, they also put the time in explaining things to us, I think I may have come up with some crazy or even cheap ideas yet they would even spend time to actually answer in details to my husband's unimportant questions. haha! We are really glad that we chose to work with them, especially after seeing the results - all of our friends and parents love our new home!

I had admired Zwada's store ever since they opened on their Pender Street location. A particular sofa displayed inside really caught my eye. Kyo was in the store that day and was very hospitable, answered my few questions and let me browse to my content. Over the next few months I admired the sofa through the window and visited the shop a few times to look at their items including this sofa. I had never had a piece of furniture custom made and put off enquiring about it because I thought the price was a little high and didn't know what to expect. When I finally got serious about purchasing this couch I found Kyo and Don extremely attentive to my taste in colour as well as my needs in my average sized apartment. Numerous swatches and wood samples were leant to me to take home and good explanations of the different qualities of the fabric were given. I made my decisions, put my order in and waited for the finished product. I am thrilled with the sofa. Even as it was coming off the truck I knew I was going to love it. The piece screams quality and the comfort level incredible. I highly recommend these guys for their furnishings. Also, it's great knowing the piece was locally made and uses excellent products like solid walnut and durable cushioning. This piece will last me for years. I will certainly be using these guys again.

It is time we wrote a review about this exemplary design duo. Zwada Home were our designers on a full scale, year long home renovation in 2009. Being based in a different province did not pose any logistical barriers. We wanted a design that would stand the test of time and I am pleased to say, we love our home as much today as we did six years ago. Zwada Home remains our go to design firm as we tweak and adapt our home to accommodate our changing family needs. Design is in the details and each and every detail was approached with thoughtfulness-taking into account cost, quality and timeliness of the design. For example, we found the choice of light fixtures to be difficult as most special orders needed to be chosen from a catalogue. Don advised which fixtures were already being knocked off and would soon be seen everywhere. We gave him complete authority to choose on our behalf and they remain beautiful and unique to this day. Don has a particular ability to work collaboratively and respectfully with his clients, but knows when to gently assume control if the process becomes overwhelming. He makes recommendations with confidence and conviction and in turn, a comfort level is quickly established. Don and Kyo are trustworthy, passionate about their work and extremely talented. Most of all, they turn what is one of the most stressful life events into a fulfilling creative experience.

Wow! What an incredible experience! Don really took the time to get to know us and our tastes. His suggestions and assistance were invaluable in giving our home a more contemporary look while maintaining our personal taste. We are amazed at what a difference small changes and a bit of purging can do make. Don has a great eye, worked quickly and within budget. We continue to work on small projects with Don & Kyo by phone and email, but we can't wait until Don is back in Edmonton so we can finish the rest of our house. Worth every penny!!

From the first time we met Don, we were confident we had found the right designer to take care of our condo renovation. He attentively listened to our expectations, made sharp observation, and asked relevant questions. Zwada home is a talented interior design company. Don and Kyo were professional and knowledgeable when they worked on a rental suite for me. Starting with a virtual blank canvas of only construction framing, they walked me through their vision of the suite. Their insight into layout(where to construct bedrooms, closets, kitchen, laundry room) and finishings(flooring, cabinets, countertop, tile, fixtures, colours) is obviously truly a gift they possess. The end result was absolutely incredible. A neighbour who saw what I initially started with dropped over to see the final result. All he could say was WOW!, as he shook his head side to side, followed by several more WOW'S!! The suite rented the first day it was advertised, to the first couple who saw it. Well done Zwada home! I am very happy with their work and would highly recommend their services to anyone.

Have had limited experience with design professionals, preferring to do the job myself, however I reached a point where I realized I needed help with my dated townhouse living room and dining area so hired Zwada based on glowing testimonials from friends. The experience has been positive in every way thanks to their creativity, thoughtful suggestions and wonderful sense of style.

We were provided with a recommendation from a friend in Edmonton who had Zwada Home do a complete interior design for her recently renovated home which we had seen and with which we were very impressed. As we were planning to do a major renovation of our Vancouver condo we contacted Don Zwarich and asked if he would look at our condo and give us some preliminary options. After meeting with Don we were very impressed by his professionalism. He listened to our ideas and wants and made some very practical and more tasteful suggestions, still keeping our vision in tact. As we were residing in Edmonton while our condo was being renovated, Don hired and oversaw all of the contractors and made sure things were done properly, even requiring the repainting of doors which he felt were not painted up to his standards. The total renovation was done in a timely fashion in about 4 months. I don't know if that is quickly or not but as we were not in Vancouver we were not concerned about deadlines. We were consulted at each step of the process and samples and alternates provided with respect to flooring, walls, appliances, blinds and furniture. Guidance was provided. As I have little interest in shopping for household effects it was great that this was done for us even to the extent that Don had some furniture made for us from expensive designs that he had sourced. This specially built furniture was much more reasonably priced and built/designed to specifically fit our condo. Even now, after moving to Vancouver 2 years ago we find ourselves still calling on Don and Kyo's assistance whenever we have a problem which is not even related to the initial renovation. They are still always willing to help and offer good advice when asked.

My experience with Zwada homes was very positive. I needed to complete my living room and media room. Having had several meetings with the designers, they completely understood how I wanted my place to be. I was never rushed or pushed into something that may have been their choice. Once I made the decision we discussed the pros and cons and we made it happen. I am thrilled with the final product and I would use them again in a heart beat.
