We had Justin and his team help us to renovate/rebuild our attic. From start to end, we were very impressed by the crew (Butch and Ben particularly) - excellent communications, highly-skilled, attention to detail, reliability, honesty/trustworthiness. Throughout the project, Justin provided creative ideas as to how best to utilize our space. Justin's experience and input were very helpful in creating a perfect space for us. In addition, Justin's time management skill was excellent - given the shortage of supply materials during the pandemic, Justin planned ahead, kept us updated, was always available to problem solve and keep the project moving! We are extremely happy with our new attic, it definitely adds great value to our house! Justin and his team recently completed a finish-out of our third floor attic space. This included the addition of a bedroom, full bathroom, recreational space, and home office. From our first meeting with Justin, we knew that White Oak Customer Builders was the contractor that we wanted to hire. Justin listened to all of our ideas and what we ultimately wanted out of the space. Based on our early discussions he helped us pull together a great design plan that was both functional and utilized all of the space to maximize the project's value. I cannot say enough great things about Butch and Ben as well. Both of them were always on-site first thing in the morning and cleaned up every afternoon as if they were never in our house. On top of that they were both very respectful of our time and even went out of the way to interact with our children. Their overall work, attention to detail, and quality were evident in every phase of the project. I was also impressed with White Oak's subcontractors who were also great to work with throughout the project. It's a rarity to see a third floor finish-out that looks like it was completed when the house was originally built. Our house is 25+ years old and White Oak spent a lot of time making sure that everything from the trim work to the moldings and doors matched the rest of our house. Again, the attention to detail was impeccable and we could not be more pleased with how things turned out. We have not shied away from recommending Justin and his team to all of our friends and look forward to having White Oak complete more projects for us in the future.

In my 30 plus years as a cabinet maker I have had the opportunity to work with quite a few general contractors on jobs that have been both small and large. Justin came referred to us during our home buying process and after seeing a kitchen remodel he performed in our neighborhood we knew we were in good hands. Our project was extensive and Justin always provided an honest opinion on our vision, did not push any unnecessary work, and treated our house as if it was his own. His communication and involvement as a contractor is unparalleled - we knew exactly what was to happen each day/week and when there were delays (only minor due to weather, scheduling, etc.) we were alerted right away and promptly presented a path forward. Our kids were excited to start their day before school saying hi to the guys and watching them carry in their tools. Having a lockbox on your house when you have young kids can be a little unsettling, but by the end of the project the team felt like trusted friends. We were so impressed with their talents, honesty, and hard work. One thing Justin says (and he means) is he’ll build in your house the way he would in his own. On a couple occasions I overheard him saying this to the subcontractor team when they were deciding how to approach something. We never doubted he had our best interest in mind. Long story short: White Oak provides custom, top quality workmanship and a well-managed project. The end product speaks for itself — we are in love with our house now!

We had worked with Justin a number of years ago on a small project to finish an above the garage bonus room that had its challenges (i.e. a staircase that wasn't to code). We loved how the project turned out and was impressed with the work ethic, carpentry skill, and attention to detail Justin brought to our home. The years ticked away and finally we knew it was time to commit to a new project - a major 1st floor remodel. A few months earlier, we had the opportunity to visit a very old home where the work to restore and make the home functional was amazing. We didn't know it during that visit, but later learned it was Justin's talent that brought the home back to life. So when it came time to find a contractor for our project, we knew Justin, and his White Oak team, were exactly who we wanted to do the job. Once again, it wasn't a simple project. We had the vision but lacked the detail to make it work so that the outcome would look original to our home's character and within budget. With Justin's help we made it happen and not only relocated and increased the size of our home's kitchen, but moved a major load bearing wall in the process. The project also included relocating the laundry and pantry rooms. As well as significant updates to our master bath - again moving walls and reworking the room's layout. We are delighted with the outcome and are loving our "new" home. We enjoyed working with the entire White Oak team from start to finish. Justin has mastered his craft and is a true professional as he is easy to work with, tuned in to the job, detail oriented and responsive to requests. I highly recommend White Oak Custom Builders and Justin Hartman. We underwent a small bathroom renovation and are incredibly happy with the results. Justin's organization of the project came with high attention to detail, quick communication and response time, and excellent guidance and recommendations while still tailoring the design to our style. The work ended up looking beautiful! Our project took only 3 weeks, and Justin and his workers did a great job accommodating our schedule as we have 2 large dogs and busy schedules to work around. I highly recommend White Oak Custom Builders. Justin has performed excellent work for me, on multiple occasions, over the last few years. This work has spanned two different properties that I own and the work has varied in nature. Most recently, I reached out to Justin (with relatively short notice) and asked for advice on inspection findings for a house I was under contract to purchase. The house was built in 1938 and had some potential water issues in the crawl space. I wanted him to review a portion of the report and to come out to the property to take a look at the sump pump (and surrounding areas) in the basement. Justin responded immediately to my inquiry and even took the time to read through the entire inspection report (and offer his advice about other findings). We setup a time for him to come to the property, which was just two days after I closed. Justin was very thorough and offered his opinion about what needed to be done, based on my long-term plans with the house. I also explained to Justin that I needed the work to be done in a short timeframe since my goal was to turn around and rent the property almost immediately. Needless to say, he listened to my concerns, answered all my questions, followed up frequently about progress, and completed the work before my deadline and under my budget. He really made what could have been a very painful process - painless. It's great to have a contractor you can trust and rely on! Justin first did work for me in 2009, which is when I bought my first home. My first home was a condemned house built in 1910. He assisted with the renovation - mostly on the carpentry work. This included the crown molding, window / door framing, inside stair railing, and the building of my inside staircase. This was a rather large job, which needed to be completed in (yet another) condensed timeline. It was such an interesting project that not everyone wanted to sign up for. Justin was all in and helped us out tremendously. To this day, I still get many compliments on my crown molding and framing. And in fact, when I went to purchase blinds for my new windows, I asked the blind company why they were measuring each and every window. They explained that while the windows may appear to be the same size, carpenters actually never frame out windows exactly. When they finished measuring, they asked me who my carpenter was because all of the windows were exactly the same size. Long story short, in case you haven't noticed, I'm a big fan of Justin, his company, and his work!!

White Oak Custom Builders remodeled our bathroom in Dec of 2013. We were very pleased with the results. Even though we are not planning to sell our home my wife and I often go to open houses just to see what's out there and get design ideas for our house. We have yet to find a bathroom that compares to ours. Justin and his crew did a great job. We are planning to remodel our kitchen next and we will definitely call Justin. I would have posted this review sooner but didn't see this option until today.

I am very happy with my recent remodel with Justin Hartman. He was extremely professional and knowledgeable throughout the entire process from our initial interview to the final walk through. This was an unusual project in that I did not step foot on the property from when I signed the contract until its final completion. Despite not being there, I knew I had someone looking out for my interests. I had to completely trust that Justin would manage the project as if it where his own. He was very patient with me while I mulled over design decisions and he always offered thoughtful advice. He always had a "can do" attitude, even when faced with ideas that were difficult to execute. We met Justin early in our Master Bath remodel process. He gave us several design ideas that we had not thought of previously. He provided us with a couple of quotes based on different scenarios and was incredibly patient with us as we continued to interview other contractors. He repeatedly took the time to offer advice even as our interview process dragged on and on. Throughout the interviews, we kept on comparing each new contractor to Justin. By the fifth additional contractor we finally realized we had the right person from the start. Justin recommended several granite, tile, cabinet and plumbing fixture vendors and we set about visiting each to make our selections. The vendors that Justin recommended made the process so easy. The quality of their products, their professionalism and their advice made the daunting process of choosing from tens of thousands of products and combinations quite quick and painless. Once the cabinets were ordered and a tentative delivery date was established, Justin was able to schedule the job in order to cause the least disruption for our family. Justin was in constantly providing status updates, scheduling updates and even texting us pictures of alternative fixture placement options. The subcontractors that Justin works with are wonderful craftsman and treated our house with the utmost respect. Justin kept the job humming along smoothly with very little down time. We now have the Master Bathroom of our dreams! Justin was an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish. Both my husband and I were very pleased with White Oak Custom Builders, LLC and feel that we got wonderful service as well as the best of materials to put up our new deck. The owner, Justin Hartman, spent a lot of time with us and helped us to understand many options that we had in building this deck. The finished product is just what we had hoped for, and the whole house looks better as a result. We plan to have this company do some more remodeling work for us in the near future. We bought an older home with a lot of potential, in May of 2015. After a thorough search for a credible contractor with great references, we hired Justin and White Oak Custom Builders and got started with our plans in July. I'm so relieved that we chose Justin - it was one of the best decisions we have ever made! He is a team player and treated our new home like his from the beginning. He truly earned 5 stars. We are now at the end of our project - a complete refresh of the home's interior, including a dramatic kitchen and bath remodel - and the results are outstanding! We had a set budget and a strict timeline to be complete by November 12. Justin said we would be in our house in October and we are moving in today - October 30. Justin is incredibly prompt, attentive, and reliable - he was at the house every single day and maintained frequent communications via email, text, and phone calls. Justin, with White Oak Custom Builders, gutted and remodeled our kitchen, powder room and master bath. I can't begin to tell you how pleased we are with the work he did on our home. Had a kitchen , family and garage conversion .Raised ceilings 8 ft to 14 ft took 5 walls out took to open space up and added built ins ( 14 x 9 ft cabinets w/ bookshelves on opposite side and a 14 ft center island with entertainment center on opposite side . Project went very smooth and on schedule as promised. They kept area clean at all times ( we lived in house during project ) . They made this a very smooth and easy project

White Oak completely made over the exterior of our home. Last fall, they did a small job for us, enclosing a porch. We were happy with the detail of the work they did. Later on, we realized we had water damage that was related to a roof we had replaced several months prior by a contractor highly recommend. Because of our confidence in the work of White Oak, we had them to repair the water damage, and change our roof design. (The water damage was very serious, destroying the wall structure. We then decided to upgrade our exterior siding, electrical, insulation, (etc.). The President of White Oak guided us through the process in assisting us with any of our questions, and directing the work of the sub contractors. We were allowed to make the choices we wanted. The end results, we could not be happier. Having replaced roofs on several houses, I would never deal directly with a roofing company again. One needs a reliable contractor working for you to get the job done. We are very thankful for our working relationship with White Oak, you will be too. If we had discovered White Oak earlier, it would have saved us money.

White Oak Custom Builders (Justin Hartman) was the contractor for a very extensive remodeling project of my house in 2013. The scope of the remodeling involved window replacement (22 windows and 6 patio doors and all new interior doors), interior wall and flooring system replacement, three decks, a new roof structure (approximately 2400 sq. ft.) and all new interior trim for what became a three level house, originally built in 1950. While major remodeling is inherently stressful for almost any homeowner, Justin’s services as a contractor were invaluable, and I am extremely pleased with the final result. Specifically, I would give Justin top marks in the following areas: 1. Quality of work performed. The quality of work done was consistently top notch. Justin knowledgeable, skilled, and competent and is conscientious about following project specifications, and his work product rarely needs improvement or revision. 2. Project management and coordination. Justin’s prior experience working in construction really paid off. He was knowledgeable about all aspects of our project, and was able to plan, coordinate and manage the activities of different work crews effectively. He remained closely involved in overseeing the project from start to finish. His excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills and commitment to follow-through are assets which enabled him to juggle the extensive details involved in our project without missing a beat. Justin’s familiarity with building codes also facilitated a smooth and hassle-free process when it came to building permits and inspection. 3. Integrity and professionalism. Throughout the project, I was impressed with Justin’s commitment to generating a top quality product, rather than maximizing his profit margin. When situations arose where extra work needed to be done (because of hidden problems that were not apparent until work on the house had commenced), Justin either (if it was relatively minor) took care of it, or (if it was more extensive) involved me in an informed decision making. 4. Effective communication. Justin kept me closely informed of work crew schedules, delivery dates, and projected completion dates of different phases of our project. His communication (whether by cell phone or email) was always clear, informative, and helpful. He was either available on his cell phone, or returned my phone call within 2-3 hours. We never had a single miscommunication throughout the project. 5. Flexibility and effectiveness in dealing with unexpected developments. When unforeseen problems surfaced (e.g., termite damage in a wall, structural problems with the existing floor and roof system), Justin worked diligently with me to identify a solution that was acceptable to me. He utilized resources effectively (e.g., recommending the services of a structural engineer in a limited fashion) and creatively to make changes necessary for implementing required solutions. 6. Sensitivity to worksite appearance and neighbor relations. Our project required huge dumpsters and a portable toilet (for the work crew), and there was very limited parking. Justin’s placement of the dumpster, portable toilet, and construction materials was based not solely on function and convenience, but showed a consideration for the aesthetics of the worksite. The work crew parked their vehicles in ways that were minimally disruptive to the neighborhood traffic, and their conduct never caused any discomfort to our neighbors. In the period of this project, there was not one single neighbor complaint! Instead, three different neighbors passed on compliments about the work. In closing, I am very pleased with the final product which Justin was instrumental in delivering, and I am extremely impressed with his work as a contractor. In a world where shoddy workmanship and poor service are unfortunately all too common, Justin is indeed a rare find. I would not hesitate to hire Justin again, or to recommend him to my friends and neighbors. I recommend White Oak Custom Builders to you most enthusiastically, and without any reservations.
