Whether working in the fields of residential and commercial architecture, or as part of a greater collaborative pursuit, at Studio SSAM it is our belief that one can make more with less. And that in doing so the work can still be thoughtful, and beautiful, and good. Fundamentally it is our intention, regardless of scale, to make design that provides well-being for both the human that uses it and the environment that surrounds it, in an engaging, thoughtful and responsible way.

I had the pleasure of working with SSAM to define the style and space for my apartment in South Beach. Within a few days Alejandra came up with a concept I loved, all within my budget. We went shopping for furniture accessories and accents together and it was actually very fun- she is very easy to work with and I love her ideas. She always had my interests in mind, and helped me pick up the right pieces that would match the concept we had created with the dimensions of the space. I love my apartment thanks to her and Studio SSAM.

Studio SSAM were the production designers for a short film I directed which premiered at the SXSW film festival in 2018. They had to come up with a temporary way to transform a guest room into an architect’s office. Alejandra and Susanna and I had discussions about tone, colors, and how to best execute within a limited budget. Their questions pushed me to define more clearly what I needed, and they presented various options with how to approach the project. They sent lots of reference material and came up with a design scheme that was affordable and nailed the sleek but lived-in look I was going for. The install went smoothly and was finished faster than expected. I hope to work with them again!
