Wasatch Shutter Design

My husband and I purchased shutter from this company, enough to do all the windows in our new home. While they were quick to come out and give us and estimate on the cost, and the technician recommended the wood shutters because they would last the life of our home; they also in stalled as promised. But their service ended there. Just a year into the purchase the paint has began to crack and peel. I called the company to report the problem and the office manager told me that it had to be water damage and that was not covered by the warranty. In fact she stated they would not send anyone out to look at the damage because of the distance from their store, but I would text the a picture of the damage. But she told me I could speak with technician (Blake). He was polite and also said it was water damage. My response was if it was damage from water wouldn’t there be water marks on other parts of the window and even the walls, since it would take sometime and soaking for the wood to absorb enough water to do that much damage. He said maybe the water had been cleaned up, but again no one offered to come out and look at the damage. He finally said he would speak to the owner Alan about the problem. Blake called me back the next day and said that Alan was not willing to repair rather for free. This was even after I had told Blake in our previous days conversation that we were improving the basement and would need an additional shutter for more 8 windows. I frankly think it was quite cowardly of the owner not calling me himself, to discuss the problem. I think I would have wanted to keep a customer happy, but maybe he is just so busy that they don’t need more customers or happy customers. I will not recommend this company for your shutters. Beware and stay away.

We are delighted with our shutters. I wanted to install as I could afford to pay, . Had a measurement done for the entire house & much to my surprise the price was that we could have all our windows on main floor. It was before the holidays like Oct and did not expect to have the job done by the holidays. It was completed before holidays everything went perfect and installed quickly. Now after many years of service and still look amazing easy to maintain. No dents chips no paint peeling. Apparently they don't have me in their database (shoddy office organisation), but I was simply not happy with their product. Paint splitting, rough corners and edges, and an annoying creaking sound. Not the quality I thought I paid for.

A couple of days ago, I learned a new way to spell “Customer Service”. The new spelling is “WASATCH SHUTTER DESIGN”. Let me tell you my experience. I was having some serious problems with my shutters that I purchased from another provider, who is now out of business. To get some technical advice, I called Wasatch Shutter Design to ask some questions as to how to fix my shutters. I first talked to their receptionist, Diane. Even after explaining that I did not purchase my shutters from them, she brought in their design layout person, Russ, to see if he could assist. He provided excellent advice and offered to provide parts at no charge. He gave me directions to their location and let me know that he had an out of office appointment, but that there would be someone there to answer any additional questions. When I arrived, I did have more questions, so Diane called in Alan…the Owner. Alan spent about 45 minutes with me (mostly after their normal closing time), which included taking me into their shop where he introduced me to Juan, one of their craftsmen. Juan gave me specific instructions and made me a template which showed me exactly how to modify my shutters so that they would operate as they should. They also gave me a drill bit of the proper size and several parts at no charge. If they treat me, one who bought my shutters elsewhere, this well, I can only imagine how they would treat one of their own customers. In my book they are at the top of the list in customer service. I also looked at the quality of their product, which I found was also top notch. My sincere thanks to Diane, Russ, Alan, and Juan. Without hesitation and with total confidence, I highly recommend Wasatch Shutter Design.

We had shutters installed last week in two bedrooms to match previously installed shutters in our living room. We obtained 3 total bids. Wasatch Shutter was 1/2 the highest bid and matched the 3rd -- but I am SOOOO glad we went with Wasatch. I bought quite a few shutters from Wasatch years ago. They have maintained their white finish.. Four shutters have had issues with the staples coming out. It has happened about once a year. When I call the company to inform them, they always send someone out to fix the problem. The last time it happened they took an entire shutter back to the shop and re-did something with it. They put a temporary shade on the window for privacy. Although I wish the shutters hadn't ever come apart, the manner in which Wasatch has handled themselves still yields 5 stars in my opinion.

We were very pleased with the quality shutters and shades Wasatch Shutter Design provided for our new home. The company was great to work with--they came into our home with all of the samples and complete information necessary to give us a thorough selection of their products, yet never tried to sell us something we didn't want or need. We got exactly what was best for our situation and our budget. The installation was flawless and the communication with the office was great too. Would definitely recommend.

We love the beautiful shutters Wasatch installed for us last summer. Blake was great to work with and helpful in explaining all of the options, pricing, scheduling etc. Everything went just like they said it would and we have been loving the quality and look of the shutters.

Wasatch Shutter Design is amazing and Julie was a pleasure to work with! We had 2 companies provide estimates for our home and thank God that Julie was the first to come out. She took the time to explain the different options that were available, the costs and the processing & installation time-frames. Julie also offered options that we didn't know were available such as splitting the shutters so that half of them on the bottom could remain closed while the other half was open on the top, simple but made a world of difference!! It was that type of thoughtful consideration that made Julie the clear winner and upon seeing the differences in materials, Wasatch Shutter Design won out, hands down. The warranty offered also was leaps and bounds above it's rivals. The other company representative made me feel like he was doing me a favor by coming out, didn't explain anything, wrote down random numbers for the cost estimate and kept calling wanting to know why we went to Wasatch Shutter Design. To me, it was the obvious choice, everything was very detailed and I always knew exactly where we stood with this process. I thought it showed fantastic initiative and customer service that there were 2 sets of measurements prior designing the shutters. The date that was set for the install was solid and they were a pleasure to work with. The installers were very friendly, clean and made sure that we were happy with everything prior to leaving. We enjoyed Wasatch Shutter Design so much that we placed a second order the same day as our first was installed to finish the 4 remaining windows in our home! And once again, the process was identical to the first time- sleek and without a problem. We love our shutters and are confident that they will last for years to come due to the fine quality craftsmanship that went into each one.
