Pamela recently helped me upgrade both bathrooms (converted master from tub to custom walk-in shower), my kitchen backsplash, and my media room. Since I tend to be left-brained, her ability to create color and material combination options that made it simple for me to visualize how they would fulfill my ideas were amazing. She was not only very professional and personable, but also patient with my sometimes stubbornness to think outside of "my box". Her bringing tile and paint samples to my residence for me to evaluate made my life so much easier. Her plan and ideas came to fruition in a fantastic way, and I am more than happy with the end result, which was even better than I had envisioned. I would happily use her again on any future projects, and I would highly recommend her to anybody who is seeking an interior designer that will work with you to help you achieve your own vision.

This is my second time working with Pamela and Usable Space Interiors - after such a positive experience in 2016, she was my natural go to for an extensive addition which gave me 1000+ additional square feet including a primary suite, an office, laundry area and a hallway dry bar. Pamela is a joy to work with - once again asking how much involvement I wanted to have on the project and always being considerate of my time and budget. The recommendations for a large new primary bath were spot on with my taste - and when I got to live out my HGTV dreams and go to the tile showroom, the tile that she had pulled was so similar to a picture I had saved on my phone that I had to double check I hadn't sent it on previously. She knows the perfect amount of pushing style boundaries to make something eye catching and not what you would find in any other home - her suggestions continue to be the things that are commented on most in my home. You will not go wrong working with Usable Space Interiors, Pamela is a breath of fresh air and will make an event that could feel overwhelming be a fun, seamless experience.

Pamela was 1000% the right choice for our remodel! We knew we needed some more storage and counter space in our kitchen, but didn’t know how to fix it. Pamela came in and was able to figure out how to make not only our kitchen function beautifully for our family of 6, but our entire downstairs as well as our master suite. We have dedicated spaces for everything, and our home is easy to keep organized and tidy now. Our kitchen went from 1980s builder grade, barely usable for 6 people to something that looks like it was taken straight from a modern magazine! Pamela works with wonderful vendors, and everything she recommended was not only in our budget, but high quality and gorgeous! She changed our eat in kitchen area to a much more functional coffee bar. She was able to add a 9 foot island that has allowed for ample storage and counter space, and serves as a gathering place for everyone to talk - something we’ve never had before! Our dining area is now right off our kitchen and flows into our living room. One of the most practical parts of Pamela’s design is our mudroom. We had an extra room that ended up cluttered with kids’ backpacks, shoes, sports equipment, and pretty much anything else you can imagine. Pamela gave us a mudroom with built-in cubbies for each kid. There is a place for shoes, backpacks, school supplies, electronics, and so much more. This system is easy for our kids to keep track of all of their things they’ll need each day for school - there’s even outlets inside our large cubbies for the kids to keep and charge their electronics when not in use. To say our downstairs functions better is an understatement! Pamela was able to relocate our washer and dryer to our master closet (it was previously in the kitchen). Doing this enabled us to have 2 pantry closet with slide out drawers - enough space to store more than a week’s worth of groceries! Moving the washer and dryer also helped our master suite function better. Our closet is entirely intentional and everything has a dedicated space. Laundry doesn’t sit piled up next to the kitchen table; it gets washed and put up! Our master bathroom was completely redone, and feels like a spa now! We have a wet zone with a soaker tub and shower all in one. No more worrying about the whole bathroom floor getting wet! In addition to the wonderful new design and new layout we have, we also have beautiful engineered wood floors. They are not only pretty to look at, they are durable (they hold up to us 6 and our 4 cats) and easy to clean. We were hesitant to do a remodel and had talked about it for a year or so before we found Pamela. As soon as she came in for our initial consultation, all our worries washed away and we knew she would make our house the home we wanted it to be. Don’t hesitate if you’re considering a remodel, call Pamela!

Pamela came to our home to get the general feeling of our personality as well as the space. She provided us clear estimates and a detailed statement of work for the project. We were able to redesign our dining room, office space, kitchen eating area, powder room, as well as our living room. She assisted with the fabric selections and colors in each of the spaces and she purchased all items in scope of the statement of work. Her design expertise and staging of the decor created an incredibly calming, elegant, and comfortable space for our home. We have hired her services for an additional project in our home and would recommend her services to others.

I last reviewed Usable Space Interiors in December, 2022, at the completion of a master bath/closet renovation. We quickly embarked on our fifth project with Pamela in February, 2023 and have now completed a total renovation of the kitchen area of our home. This was by far the most extensive project yet, and once again, the results have exceeded my expectations! We are thrilled with the finished spaces and are enjoying using them every day. Pamela was able to take a small, dreary, outdated kitchen, an oversized powder room, and a tiny laundry and create a huge, open, airy kitchen with more cabinet storage and counter space than I imagined possible. She turned the powder room with its wasted space into a beautiful, functional mudroom entrance from the garage. The tiny laundry room is now a perfectly sized, gorgeous powder room. (The laundry room was moved to the master closet in the previous project.) Everyone who has seen my new kitchen just loves it. A friend recently commented that it is relaxing as well as beautiful! I concur! Pamela can take you from concept to finished space on time and in budget. Her access to contractors and vendors of excellence is a great asset she brings to your project. With her design skills and eye for the perfect decor items to pull everything together, your home will be magazine ready. You will never be disappointed when Pamela handles your project, no matter how big or small it might be. And the fact that she is such a joy to work with will have you searching for new projects to keep her around! (December 2022) I initially found Pamela on Houzz in 2019 when my husband and I first moved to Tennessee. I chose her because of her excellent ratings and the photos of her work. She has been steadily transforming my home ever since! We began with furniture procurement and placement, art/decor, and painting. When a health crisis in 2021 necessitated making a small bathroom handicapped accessible, she jumped in and got the project started very quickly. The new space is as beautiful as it is functional. The guest bath quickly followed and now guests can enjoy a spa-like experience. Our most recent project was a complete reworking of the master bathroom/closet and the results are stunning! Her vision for transforming a poorly designed space into a much more “usable space” says everything about what Pamela does. Her ability to understand what is wanted and needed and bring it to fruition is second to none. Her access to contractors and vendors is excellent and give me great confidence that the job will be done with excellence, within budget, and on time. I would say that this latest project is the icing on the cake, but that will actually happen early next year when we embark on the next phase—the kitchen! Pamela was incredible to work with. She was so helpful throughout the months of renovations. This was a big project. We renovated the kitchen, 3 bathrooms, adding wainscoting to our staircase and adding a dry bar, she made this experience as smooth as possible. We LOVED working with her. We cannot say or write enough about how great the experience was. She was always there to answer our questions or tackle a hiccup in the renovation process. As stressful as a renovation is, it was less stressful having Pamela work with the builder and vendors during the whole process. She brought in a great team. We were amazed at the quality of work. Pamela is a powerhouse and it has been a wonderful experience working with her from beginning to end! Just completed our second project with Pamela. Our first project was in fall/winter 2019/20 when we moved to the area from out of state. She immediately understood what I was looking for and pulled everything together beautifully. So when we unexpectedly needed to make a bathroom handicapped accessible on a semi-emergency basis in spring 2021, I immediately called Pamela! She jumped into action and designed a functional space that is aesthetically beautiful and will add value to our home. She spent many hours gathering in stock supplies from tile, to fixtures so we were not at the mercy of supply chain woes. The finished product is amazing. We also completely renovated the guest bathroom and she transformed it into a luxury, spa-like space. I could never have attempted such a project without Pamela at the helm! I decided to meet with Pamela based off her reviews and before/after photos. After our initial meeting, I felt confident that she could bring my vision to life. Having never worked with a designer before, I didn't know what to expect. Pamela helped me discover my 'style' and choose pieces, colors, etc that would support the project. We worked together to completely remodel my downstairs living area and master suite and I could not be more pleased with the results. Everything turned out beautifully and I feel that the design is effortless and timeless. Pamela went over and above to aid in the selection of all materials to meet my budget and tastes and she was willing to meet on nights and weekends to work with my schedule. Pamela of Usable Space Interiors completed our Master Bath remodel this morning! We could not be happier with this whole experience. She helped us pick the design and finishes after listening to our preferences. She came to our home with samples of everything involved and we put together our selections in about an hour! Then she was off and running and our contact was only over details as the construction progressed. She placed us with a Contractor that has been wonderful and highly skilled. She managed the progress of everything while we were often out of town and literally took ALL of the worry out of this project! I can't recommend her highly enough!

I hired Pamella to assist me with reconfiguring my living room and basement. She was very good at developing a design plan for my living room and bringing in a great contractor to get it all done. I love the new shelves and paint colors. It did become overwhelming for me as I allowed her to shop for the decor - budget went way over and although beautiful, not truly my style. For me, it was still worth it to have her help as I needed that push to get it moving in the right direction. However, if I had a do-over I would only pay for design consultation and do more of the decor selection at my own pace and style. If you have an unlimited budget and just want someone to do it all quickly then Pamella is a good choice.

It was such a pleasure to work with Pamela. I reached out to her to help transition my home to an adult space after years of letting our preschooler take over all available space for toys. The work included multiple rooms. My project came in 3 different phases to include custom built ins for our bonus room that became a comfortable lounge space and playroom we were desparately in need of. We expanded our cabinetry in the kitchen that included a desk workstation. Thirdly, Pamela helped tie all of the decor together from both our formal and casual dining spaces and our living space. I could not be happier! She worked closely with her contractor and designed a lovely custom built cabinet that gave way to much needed storage. While it became functional, it also became a wonderful centerpiece of the new bonus space. In our kitchen space, Pamela diligently tracked down the vendor that had our current cabinetry in stock, sought out the exact granite and took the time to find multiple sample tiles for a new backsplash. She spent long days helping me go through decor that I had on hand, helping me repurpose items in a new way. She also took her time shopping for new items that helped make our space very comfortable, casual, yet livable and wonderful so that we can once again entertain family and friends without fuss.
