Thuja Architecture Studio

Thuja Design Studio Co was opened in the Comox Valley in 2007 and relocated to Squamish BC in 2014. The studio is owned and operated by the Principal designer, Tanis Schulte. She has design experience with architectural and design firms based locally and abroad and has worked on a variety of project types and scales; from public institutions and high end residential projects to mud houses in Africa. Tanis has a passion for design, the environment and the people who use them. She strives to design spaces that are beautiful, ecologically responsible and meet the needs of the client. Thuja Design Studio transitioned to a full service architecture firm in 2017, under the new name Thuja Architecture Studio. Thuja Architecture Studio believes in sustainable design that solves problems. We strive to develop progressive, efficient and original design solutions for the places we live, work, and play. These solutions are pragmatic and intrinsically dependant on the environments they are built in and are developed to sustain the ways in which we interact with our built environment. Our projects are designed with a holistic approach taking into account every influencing factor relating to the project, from orientation and location on site to the finishing materials. We strive to produce a product that our clients, ourselves and the users are proud of.
