I am writing about a sofa I purchased in June 2023. It was a clearance sofa and I knew that when I bought it. What I object to is the $275 delivery charge tacked on to the sale piece, at the Wolf Rd,, Albany NY, store. Salesman stated that they used an outside delivery service. The charge was ridiculous but I agreed to pay it. The delivery service called from New York City to confirm that that was the origin point. Couldn't they find a local delivery dervice to minimize the delivery charge? One of the delivery people damaged our front porch flashing as he and another man brought the sofa into the house. It was obvious that he was inexperienced. They tried to fix the damage, but were not successful, causing us to have to have a contractor perform the repairs. Not a good way to do business, Stickley!

Pathetic customer service. Sells high end furniture and does not stand by it. Advised them of an issue and it was a hot potato bouncing around. They reluctantly sent me something for me to fix the issue. Expecting a customer to fix an issue is not reasonable or appropriate.
They are responded after many of my follow-ups and have stated they will be issuing a partial refund.

DESIGN FLAW with Concord Arm Chair. Bought 10 at roughly $1k each and three have broken at exact same place in less than 30 months. So not wear and tear. They drill lTHROUGH the tenon which weakens the point. And not just in that one place but at all areas where they use the mortise and tenon idea on the chair. Drilling a hole through the tenon severely weakens the tenon and it breaks. In trying to collaborate with Stickley "customer service" they give no name, offer only excuses that "we don't have any other complaints.". Only the Heisman when you ask for assistance.
Tradition no more it seems in this fine brand as the new owners are only worried about the final buck and not the brand.

Hook line and sinker

I bought two recliners in August 2022, I was sold a chair that passed quality control that lacked hardware to recline. It was still package in the factory packing. Since that time I have tried to resolve this issues with Stickley. I have sent pictures and have had to get the BBB involved and still it is not resolved. Where is the workmanship, the craft of fine quality furniture that is spoken in your advertisements, your remarks while waiting to speak with staff on the business recording. Over 7k was spent on two chairs. I would have been better served elsewhere for better quality and service. WARNING: buyer beware.

As much as I like Stickley brand, my experiences have not been stellar recently. Very recently I bought a Stickley table, now get this, sit down if you are a die hard Stickley fan...Stickley craftspeople used wood putty for the table leg joints. That's right wood putty. I was apoplectic. I've bought numerous pieces in the past, albeit, 30 years ago, and I wanted a companion for our Stickley Chair. Wood putty on a collectable piece of furniture from a respectable furniture maker. Unheard of, I know. See pictures if you don't believe me. I'm working with the retail ops mgr now to resolve the issue. It is yet to be fully resolved. So what I would suggest is check your furniture carefully upon delivery. Take pictures. What has the world come to, when I can't depend on the craftsmanship from a well known and respected furniture maker. Gustav Stickley, if you are reading this and watching...scream three times! The pictures also show a gob of glue and terrible sanding, along with the wood putty. Check your purchases. Buyer beware.

If we could, we'd have given Stickley no starts. I've never been motivated to write a review before - good or bad - but this place is so awful I couldn't help myself. While shopping, the staff is helpful and responsive. But the moment the check clears, expect unexplained delays, radio silence and unfulfilled promises. At one point our designer told us that product we had ordered over 8 months ago was ready and would be delivered in the coming days when in fact, he hadn't even ordered the fabric and we're now told it'll be another few months. We can't even get estimated delivery dates for our remaining product. Their customer service could not have been worse had they tried.

I’d always found Stickley to be a good company so it is with sadness and frustration that I write this review to make others aware of how far the company has fallen in regards to customer care.
Over the years I have acquired various pieces of Stickley furniture (bookcases, armchairs, armoire, etc) which i have enjoyed.
Recently, a problem occurred with some of my Stickley furniture (nothing to do with Stickley’s quality) requiring an expert opinion and advice on how best to proceed with treating and restoring the furniture which had unfortunately been exposed to some mold. I contacted Stickley, who couldn’t have been less helpful. They informed me that they have an acute shortage of staff and are unable to do anything related to after sales. ( An exception might be made for warranty work.) I asked if I could at least email them so they could look at photographs of the furniture, they said no. I asked if they could refer me to a reputable company that might be able to help, again, they said no. It was made very clear to me that they had no interest or intention of putting the slightest effort in to assisting me. I was made to feel like a nuisance to them, just by virtue of calling the office.
I was astonished that a company of Stickley’s standing offered such poor or more accurately, no service to existing customers.
Moving forward, when looking to buy more furniture, Stickley will no longer be an option for me.
Selling a product that is built to last a lifetime but then abandoning the customer post sale, is a strange way to do business.

I am over 65 and have never been upset enough to take the time to do a negative on-line review.
We ordered an expensive sofa in November 2020 and were promised delivery in February. They did not call us. We have had to call them repeatedly for updates. It is now July 29th and we don't have a firm delivery date though in June they last said August. We just called again and were sent to voicemail when we asked for an update...
Despite what may prove to be high quality albeit very expensive furniture, do you really want to endure endless runarounds and at least nine months for delivery. An excuse was Covid for late delivery. However, note in November 2020 COVID effects should have been known and regardless there is no excuse fore not keeping customers up to date,,,

Stickley is not what they used to be. We purchased in excess of $20,000 in Stickley dining room furniture about twenty years ago. The quality was good back then, for the most part. We had quality issues with the last piece we purchased; a china cabinet. A replacement was sent and it was worse than the original; router bit chatter in the Ogee edge detail, a real amateur mistake. We kept the original but looking back, that experience was a prelude of things to come from Stickley.
Recently we sent our dining room table back to Stickley for refinishing to repair accidental damage to the surface, and to my dismay the quality of what was returned in no way matched the original. Waviness in the surface due to poor sanding technique. Pits in the lacquer, particularly around the edges, of this high-gloss surface really stand out under a chandelier. They just did not take the time to remove these residual imperfections with additional sanding and finish coats. Stickley claims that these divots are due to the grain and shrinking in the lacquer, and that the finish they provided is "normal". I can tell you this for certain, back in the day you would never see such imperfections on the showroom floor. I can't find imperfections like this in any piece we have in the house.
So, there is a new normal at Stickley, Quality, attention to detail, the pursuit of perfection...Dead. It's a shame.

EXCEPTIONAL EXPERIENCE. Designer, Sharon Ratzel was a joy to work with. In the end we bought every piece of new furniture from her, to furnish our new home at The Village at Shaker Creek. We had a tricky floor plan and she made sure every piece would fit, look beautiful and make sense in the space.
We first went to a store that rhymes with, Buy More and Gagagan. The real estate broker referred us to Chuck. He just wanted to sell and didn't care if a piece would fit in the space. I originally went in for 2 American Leather pieces. Stickley's quote was $3425. LESS than Buy More and Gagagan.
We were also committed to buying pieces MADE IN AMERICA. Stickley had no problem making that happen, from the sofas, American Leather sofa sleeper, desks, file cabinets, recliners, dining table, beds, end tables...
My original plan was to visit at least 6 furniture stores. We stopped at Stickley and will be a customer for life.

We purchased a beautiful recliner chair 4 years ago from an upper end furniture retailer in our area. The look, comfort and style are beyond wonderful. However, several months ago the finish began to erode from the chair arm. This chair does not see regular use, and I would say to be fair averages out maybe 1-2 times per week. I regularly clean my furniture with Guardsman products as well. Upon contacting Stickley, I was referred to retailer who sold us the piece and had to send in photos and a detailed explanation. Then, after all that effort, despite the chair supposedly still being under warranty we were told that this is a non-covered problem since they feel it is due to regular use. If you are looking at this furniture you know how very expensive it is. The best they will do to stand behind their product after an appeal was to say they would refinish the arms at the cost of a further $300.00! I am extremely disappointed in first, the failure of the item, and secondly at the lack of responsiveness in standing behind the quality of their work. I will NEVER recommend to anyone to invest the kind of money this company is asking for in furniture due to this very poor experience.

I am so disappointed in our Stickley Leather recliner and the customer service of Stickley. I purchased a leather recliner and it was delivered in January, 2015. In May of 2016 I noticed the leather on the corners of the recliner foot pad are wearing out. This was a chair not on sale but full price. In less than a 1 1/2 year the leather is wearing out and the back headrest padding is sinking in. The padding on the seat is also deteriorating. One person uses the chair and moderately at that. Service response is to replace the foot bad at my expense. You've got to be kidding. This is an expensive chair with minimal wear. I would not recommend Stickley to anyone.
