Chi siamo

Sonelo Design Studio is a Melbourne based architecture and interior design practice established in 2013 and has sedulously developed an aggregation of bespoke designs. Simple, thoughtful and beautiful are the three attributes driving our practice creative process. Sonelo holds strong belief in stripping back to a state of the authentic need of the occupant. Often inspired by everyday beauty and simplicity, we create places that benefit life. Drawing on the act of inhabiting spaces through evocative sensibility of touch and feel, we explores design in the multi-layered realms of briefs, site, form, texture, materiality, landscape and their tectonics. In each project undertaken, we approach it as a unique living being, responding specifically to the site and occupants. Through discussions with client, we listen and review the purpose and possibilities of a place we are about to create together. We adopt a collaborative process between the clients, consultants and contractor to ensure an outcome with vigour. We worked with Sonelo to redesign our new home which also involves an extension. The project is a challenge, not least because we are hampered by a small space, but with Wilson and Elodie's creative thinking and clever suggestions, we now have a great design and plan. They genuinely consider the way their clients live and use the space, and are flexible and pragmatic with budgetary requirements. The Sonelo team is professional, creative and a real joy to work with.

I engaged Wilson from Sonelo Design Studio to do an alteration/addition to my house in Carlton. To me it was definitely a challenging project due to land size and heritage overlay but he saw it as an exciting one with so much potential to explore. Wilson was extremely professional and transparent in delivering his works, ensuring that everything falls into place and guiding me throughout the whole process. He picked up the design brief pretty quickly and developed what used to be a dark and tight house into a bright, spacious home. Wilson was also very attentive during the construction process; he would respond to any issues found on site and resolve it together with the builders and kept me in the loop. The completed work really defies the notion of tight spaces thanks to his attention to detail and creative design skills. Overall, I have thoroughly enjoyed working together with Wilson on Elgin Street project. GG Wilson!

We engaged Sonelo to redesign our home at Richmond. We had only purchased just the house when we started to speak to Wilson at Sonelo. We were keen to complete the renovation works before we moved in. Wilson was able to assist us with the renovation and work with our tight timeline and very easy to collaborate with. The design process was seamless. He listened, understood, and provided a design that responds to our brief. Wilson was also very helpful during construction. He was able to communicate and creatively find solution together with the builder on site to resolve details. The outcome is a home of quality and tranquility. We love our home. It was an excellent and delightful journey. We would highly recommend Sonelo if you are seeking architects for your new home.
