We asked Matt and Jenny to help us renovate our Woodlands home. We were overseas at the time of getting started and were searching for a team we could trust and rely on for quality, schedule and budget. Sneller Custom Homes were all of that... They were great in helping us get started on design online from abroad, right sizing our scope within budget and selecting materials from a great set of reliable suppliers. Zack was our project manager and was fantastic... always in communication, knowledgable, clear on activities of the day/week, optimizing our schedule and more than willing to take on any additions or changes along the way. As the project progressed, it became clear that the Sneller team deliver on their commitments and we were able to add scope knowing that the contingency we held back was not going to be needed with this team. We are loving living in our new spaces (kitchen, bathrooms, utility room, floors) and are very pleased we chose the Sneller team!

My wife and I were looking for a multigenerational home for her parents and our family of 4. We looked at new and used homes, but could not find a house that met everybody's needs. We then hesitantly (after hearing so many horror stories on home renovations) decided to explore remodeling our current home. After our first meeting with Matt, we fell in love with the idea of remodeling. We gave him our list of needs, wants and thoughts. We recently completed a large whole house renovation with Sneller Custom Homes and they did a wonderful job. We had an extensive remodeling project of our home in mid 2019. This included a complete remodel of the first floor, including the kitchen, master bath, guest bath, and powder room. I was nervous to build a house because of horror stories about working with builders. We went with Matt Sneller, and he proved all those stories wrong. The team at Sneller was phenomenal, and our home is more beautiful than imagined. I give them my highest recommendation. We have been in our house for a year now, and the craftsmanship continues to shine.

This was our first remodel job, and now that we’ve been through the process and see how complex and arduous it is, and how many bad GCs there are out there, I am so grateful we chose Sneller. Although we had hired an architect to draw up a design and plans, Matt came out to see the space and basically gave new vision to the design. He has the eye of a craftsman. Plus, as a father with growing kids, he knew what would work best for families. His design was what we went with as we worked with our architect to get it all down. All the professionals down the chain were great, too. An extensive home remodel is never an easy thing, and if at the end of the day you still like and trust your GC, you have selected wisely. Our kitchen turned out beautiful and functional and on budget.

We hired Sneller Custom Homes to build a covered patio / summer kitchen / outdoor fireplace. They were great from start to finish. The entire team worked with us through the design process and they were transparent and communicated well during the bid process. During the construction process, they did what they said they would do. They kept to the schedule / budget, and always called in advance if a trade that was scheduled could not make it for any reason. They were responsive and timely during the punchlist process. When we decided to buy my parents’ house and remodel it to make it our home, we knew we wanted more than just new floors and updated counter tops. The goal was to not feel like we were living in my parents’ house. Matt really impressed us with his ability to think outside the box in order to achieve our goal. We moved walls, raised the ceiling, opened up the stairs, expanded the kitchen into the breakfast nook, relocated a powder bath, expanded the laundry room, added a large pantry… We totally gut the first floor and essentially re-built a new house inside the existing structure. This was a huge remodel project taking nearly a year from start of demo to move in day. To top it off, this entire project was undergone during Harvey and all it’s aftermath on the Houston area. The Sneller team saw us through it all to the end and we are now enjoying our beautiful home. There were some bumps along the way, as to be expected on a project this size. After adopting our 4th child we decided we needed to add an additional bedroom to our house. The project started as a simple bedroom addition but the more we thought about it, after watching way too many “fixer upper” episodes, we thought we’d tackle the kitchen at the same time. Once we engaged Matt (Sneller Custom Homes) and Cindy (Chairma), that simple plan went out the window and a complete remodel ensued. Our rationale was we’re only going to do this once, let’s get it right. Cindy and Matt helped design a fabulous new open floor plan which included gutting and removing walls in the kitchen and main downstairs living areas. In that space a brand new kitchen, pantry, sitting area and locker room were created. We LOVE the kitchen and pantry and have no idea how we lived without it. The sitting area is our favorite spot to have our morning coffee. We also added the bedroom we initially needed along with its own bath. Another bonus was using the attic space and converting it into a media room. The remodel took twice as long as we first thought and frustrations were inevitable. That being said, whenever anything occurred the team at Sneller was quickly on board to properly rectify the issue. We are very happy with how our beautiful NEW home turned out and how functional the finished product is for our family. The biggest downside to our experience was living in an apartment for 9 months with 4 kids!

Matt and his team were wonderful to work with from start to finish. We had a very extensive plan and wanted it executed with procession and detail. Matt was able to take our idea, bring them to light and so much more. We loved that he was able to answer our questions and concerns quickly. And if he didn't know the answer or solution he researched the best option to get us what we wanted. He completed the job, made sure everything was done correctly, and we were happy! We had Sneller remodel our bathroom and kitchen. Any remodel of an occupied home is inconvenient and hetectic, but Sneller made it as bearable as can be expected. The workers were courteous, professional and the work done with attention to detail. The work was performed in a timely manner. Matt and his team do not cut corners. If it not done right, they will not just let it slide. In the end, the kitchen and bathroom were absolutely gorgeous. When our friends see the new kitchen and bathroom, their first word is...“WOW !. It was very clear after the first round of discussions that Matt was our best choice. Read Rebecca's review; I concur with every word regarding the difficulty of choosing a building contractor. Our project was on a lake a good distance from town, and we were out-of-state for the 6 month duration of the major whole house remodel. So this was a true challenge for a contractor and for us. Matt worked closely and cooperatively with our out-of-state architect and design team. I never felt I was "causing trouble" by focusing on detail and quality. Matt and Margarito bent over backwards to make sure we were happy and got what we wanted from the design. The teamwork was excellent and this project couldn't have happened without a contractor who would listen and communicate with others on the team. They were also patient as we went through the estimating and budgeting process. Honest, easy to deal with, professional and made the whole project a joy. Worth every penny. How many clients can say that after a major remodel? Matt and co are a rare find.

We worked with Sneller Custom Homes on the initial remodel of our house and had a wonderful experience, with Margarito as our on-site coordinator. Sadly, 9 months after we moved in, we were flooded from the reservoir release during Hurricane Harvey. We needed to rebuild but we needed to do it for A LOT less this time around. This meant economical choices like pre-fabricated cabinets instead of custom. Needless to say, it was incredibly stressful flooding and also having to do and fund two remodels back to back on the same home. Knowing that we could rely on Sneller, that they had our back, made a REALLY bad situation a lot less bad. I didn't have to search for a reliable contractor, on top of everything else going on post-flood, I knew Sneller was it. I already had a working relationship with them, they knew my goals and really worked with us to come up with ways to get the same or similar look for less. During Harvey-related labor shortages, they kept me posted on progress. Due smart choices and Sneller's help, we came in $15k under budget!! As a retired PR and Marketing professional, I had one tenant that I always lived by: I only promoted clients who had something that I loved, would use myself, and that I believed in. If I wouldn't recommend it to my best friend, then I couldn't find it within myself to take a client on. There's a reason for this. It has to do with ethics but also that it's MUCH easier to promote something if you truly BELIEVE in it. I still stand by this approach today, even though I'm no longer active in the business. I've recommended Sneller to friends, family and anyone who needs a contractor. There are definitely guys out there who will offer to do your project for less money or in less time, there always are. As with most things in life, you get what you pay for. We hired Matt to remodel our master bathroom. Throughout the project Matt and his team were very professional and easy to work with. Our project was a master bath remodel with updates to adjoining master bedroom and office. Matt and his crew were outstanding. They did an amazing job on our remodel -- exceeded our expectations! We hired Sneller Custom Homes to remodel our first floor, including our kitchen and master bath. They did an outstanding job. Even when moving walls, etc., the place was kept immaculately clean for a worksite. They did a good job of keeping us up to date on what was happening. The price stayed within the quoted amount (except where we requested changes or upgrades). On the rare occasions when we wanted something changed or thought something should be done differently, they were quick to make the requested change and did so without any problems--it was clear that they wanted us to be happy with the end result. And now that it's done, everything looks beautiful. They were great about working with our designer (in fact, they recommended her and she was fantastic as well). And in a number of areas Matt made suggestions that we had not thought of that made the final result much better. I never knew one could be happy about a leak, but that leak brought us to Matt Sneller. We gave Matt plenty of room to design the home inside and out. Gone are the old appliances and fixtures, gone are the problems with heating and cooling. Our desire was to have a huge "wall of windows" like some of the examples they put here on Houzz. I would give them 5 stars for the finished result, but we had some issues along the way - The windows he originally delivered were awful with huge cheap looking plastic framing.. He then was able to find a better supplier with a window that we are still in awe over - everyone that enters our new room LOVES it! This delayed the project for 6 weeks and he ended up charging us more for the window, which was disappointing, but somewhat understandable. However, Matt was a consummate professional through the whole thing. I would have no problem recommending him to a friend.

We feel very fortunate to have discovered Matt Sneller and Sneller Custom Homes and Remodeling for our home remodeling project. Our home was built in 1981 and was in need of a major remodeling. While our home was well maintained, we had not made any significant changes and like most homes of that era lacked the openness we had desired for some time. We had considered selling our home and buying a new home that incorporated the openness and modern conveniences we were looking for, but loved our location, our pool and spacious yard, and hated to leave our home of the past 30 years. We had talked to several contractors about remodeling our home, but they either showed no interest or were unwilling to provide any scope details or specific cost estimates for remodeling our home. The general question asked was how much do you want to budget/spend, instead of trying to understand what we wanted to achieve and from that developing a project scope and cost estimate for the work. Sneller Custom Homes and Remodeling was like a fresh breath of air. Matt met with us two or three times to discuss ideas. From those ideas a detailed scope and cost estimate for our project was developed. A floor plan was generated along with elevation views and all of this was done before a contract was executed and before one dollar was paid! Matt helped us design the openness in our home we had longed for but had been unsure of how to accomplish. Our project included a redesign of our kitchen and breakfast room layout which provided new built-in cabinets, granite countertops, new plumbing, new appliances, porcelain tile flooring, and recessed room lighting and LED under counter lighting. The wall which separated our kitchen and family room was removed and the countertop section separating the kitchen from the breakfast area was also removed really opening our floor plan. Our family room was updated with porcelain tile flooring replacing carpet, new built-in cabinetry with wine cooler, the TV was moved to above the fireplace, and the worn out wood paneling was painted which really lightened and brightened the room. The biggest change was to our master bath where more efficient use of the space was made while bringing a real “wow factor“ to the room. The master bath remodel included building a larger and glass enclosed shower with a mosaic tile design, new larger tub with marble decking and tile backing, marble countertops, built-in cabinets, new recessed lighting, new plumbing fixtures, and a creative tile floor design. Other project work included a re-do of the powder room, converting a garage closet space into a pantry for the kitchen, and wood floors for our living room and study. Sneller Custom Homes and Remodeling completed the project on time and on budget and the end result was the home we were looking for and in fact exceeded our best expectations. Matt Sneller did some energy updates for our home and remodeling. He is very eager to please in every way! He is extremely efficient and responds immediately to your requests. He makes sure his subcontractors do excellent work by checking up on them during and at the end of the job. He installed a window in a room over our garage and matched the exterior brick perfectly - one would never know this was done 15 years after the house was built. He saved us a lot of money on our built-in refrigerator and did an excellent job faux finishing the exterior panels. Sneller Custom Homes and Remodeling was contracted to build a custom patio with landscaping. It came out beautiful and exceeded our expectations! Searching for a contractor was a very difficult process- there are literally thousands to choose from! It amazed me how many of the dozens we called didn't even bother to make their appointment. Not Matt Sneller. Right from the start he had immediate response. He was extremely courteous and very professional. We were looking to have a complete floor to ceiling kitchen renovation, updated tile and glass work and larger shower in the master bath, and turn our walk in 2nd floor attic space into a 5th room/music studio. Of the estimates we received, his completely blew the rest out of the water- pricing is both fair to him and great for he homeowner, but mainly because he provided a detailed spreadsheet of his estimated costs for every portion of each of the main projects. You don't realize how crucial this is until you see where every one cent is getting spent. Rather than estimating a blank $1,000 amount for electrical, I knew exactly how many switches, lights, rewire, etc. that $1000 was paying for. He also doesn't lowball on the allowances which means you'll get much truer idea of how much you'll spend on things like fixtures and tile selection (no one wants to settle for the low end stuff!) He estimated 4 weeks for all the work, which really shocked us for the amount that was being done. It took him and his crews 5 weeks, the delay being out of their hands due to a tile supply issue that help up some other work. His various crews that handle different aspects of the job were all excellent and courteous as well. The entire process, Matt was always immediately available, and on site 98% of the time- I could count on one hand the amount of days he wasn't on the jobsite and always had excellent communication via phone and email. Several times there were potential issues- it's common for unseen issues or problems to crop up in the midst of renovating. Matt was always ready to handle, and if not presently on site while his crews were working, he would be there with a quick phone call to help figure out a solution. In the end we are blown away with the work that was done, for the price and the short amount of time it took to complete. Sneller Custom Homes is highly recommended for being honest, flexible, fast, and providing amazing custom work at great price.
