Smith & Smith Kitchens

We had nothing but problems from the very beginning with Smith and Smith. When they installed the cabinetry, it was installed out of level so when they went to put the doors on, they didn’t fit due to misalignment. All the cabinetry had to be pulled down and reinstalled. Some of the cupboard doors were ordered in the wrong colours and others were damaged, it took 3 attempts for the company to order the correct doors so we were without doors for months. The stone benchtop around the oven was cut too small and our oven has been jammed into the space so tightly that the front face of the oven is popping off because it doesn’t fit between the bench. But that’s not the worst of it! Our Caesarstone benchtop has cracked though in front of our sink about four years after installation. The kitchen is supposed to be covered by a 10 year warranty, but Smith and Smith have wiped their hands clean of any responsibility. Someone from Smith and Smith came to inspect the benchtop and said that the damage must have occurred due to customer fault- said that we must have put too much weight on that part of the bench or placed something hot on it. Neither of which have ever happened. He even went as far as saying that you shouldn’t even lean a hand on the benchtop to support yourself when standing up from the floor- which for a stone bench stop sounds absolutely ridiculous! We weren’t happy with this and so Smith and Smith told us that we had to deal with the stone supplier directly ourselves, to which is actually illegal for Smith and Smith to palm us of to deal with their supplier. Smith and Smith provided us the contact details of the Stone company who supplied our benchtop and we contacted them to come and assess the damage. A member from the stone company came out to assess the damage and said that Smith and Smith had not installed the benchtop correctly because the thin stone section in front of the sink which had cracked should have been reinforced by a steel rod to provide sufficient support and strength to this area of the bench, and this had not been done. When this information was relayed to Smith and Smith the boss said that he didn’t personally know this member who came to assess the damage from the stone company and didn’t trust his opinion. Again the company wiped their hands clean of the warranty. Do NOT deal with Smith and Smith! If you have any issues they will wipe their hands clean. We are now seeking legal advice.

I had Smith & Smith install my kitchen 10 years ago and strangely the reason I am going on this site to comment is I was talking to my work colleagues yesterday telling them getting a kitchen company to do the whole thing is the way to go. I still love my kitchen 10 years on and I've never had one problem with it. But the best part was the way the whole process was, it took all the stress out of my hands I just sat back and did nothing. The kitchen was completed quickly and the workmanship was outstanding. I used their trades and I was and am still happy.

Wonderful experience We had a new kitchen installed 7 weeks ago, Smith and Smith made the whole experience very easy from the initial design by Deborah to the installation, all the tradies were of a high standard and alleviated any anxieties we had, the end result was amazing, we would highly recommend Smith and Smith for a new kitchen.

A Heartfelt Testimonial My wife, Janet, & I moved to Pakenham last August, after over 44 years at Oakleigh. As our ‘new’ house will almost certainly be our last, we wanted it to create a home that was both comfortable and functional. After arranging for a major update for its bathroom, we turned our attention to the kitchen & then separate laundry area. Whilst the total area involved was a reasonable size, its design was very ‘1960’s’, with a wall & door separating the two areas, an unused large laundry trough, far too few cupboards & drawers, & a generally poor use of space & facilities. An initial sketch of a possible layout soon led to a detailed set of drawings, providing a new, single, open room, incorporating both functions, which more than met Janet’s needs (and dreams). We quickly approved Sue’s proposed design, & the estimate for the work. The work was done superbly, in the required time-frame & budget. We now have an absolutely superb, high-quality, kitchen/laundry, which not only looks great, but ‘works as a kitchen should!!’ We both have no hesitation in recommending Sue Bracy’s & Smith & Smith's services for your ‘dream kitchen’ design.

Their sales contact Laurie Calleja was patient with our evolving design, and their aftermarket service was prompt and efficient. Absolutely love my new kitchen. The whole process from beginning to end has been a breeze thanks to the wonderful team at Smith and Smith Kitchens. Big thanks to my designer who was never pushy (did experience this from other companies) but extreamtl professional and efficient. My kitchen was designed to suit our budget, family and lifestyle. The quality / workmanship of the cabinetry has exceeded my expectations and all the tradesmen have gone above and beyond to ensure all was completed for us to be up and running quickly. Even the maintenance team who had to come out a fix a few things after installation were great to deal with and dealt with things in a timely manner. Thanks Smith and Smith. Highly recommended.

Smith and Smith Kitchens know there stuff!! The whole process from start to end was pleasurable, seamless, and I developed a greater understanding of what a quality built kitchen is like to own. My designer Debbie understood from the outset what I was after. I wanted a functioning, modern country style kitchen which would suit the country area I live in. The room was open plan therefore consideration was made as the wall space was limited. Debbie was able to improve and develop ideas I presented to her and the outcome is magical. The cabinetry profile I chose was not a standard profile so Aaron went out of his way to develop a tool to create what I wanted. The kitchen was delivered on time and designed within my budget. Four years I still love to be in my kitchen, quality fittings are used therefore no adjustments have been needed to doors or draws. I have no doubt that the cabinetry will outlast me. I cannot praise Smth and Smith enough. I put in a large and expensive kitchen and they were fantastic. They took an amazing amount of time to tailor this kitchen just for me, installation was fast and efficient and everything came out exactly as planned. There kitchens are great quality their tradies were great and a year on everything is still perfect and I havent had any problems what so ever. Choosing a kitchen company can be difficult and stressful, Smith and Smith were recommended to me by a happy friend and I would not hesitate to recommend them

We had a great experience with Laurie, our designer, of our fabulous kitchen. His ideas were perfect for our needs, and our kitchen is both functional and stylish. All our friends and colleagues were most impressed. We also had you do our laundry - love it. This was followed by John our installer. My new Smith & Smith kitchen was installed in late October 2015 and a big ‘thank you’ to all the team for the wonderful outcome. From Lynette who designed it, to Patrick who came and check measured, to Debbie who put up with endless queries from me, to Warwick and Gavin who fixed a few minor things, to the people who constructed the towers etc., to Timo, Henny, Phil and all the trades, I couldn’t be happier!! Everyone was courteous, patient, cleaned up after themselves (where necessary), answered what at times may have appeared as redundant questions from me, and came when they said they would. Smith & Smith Kitchens is one of THE most professional companies I have had the pleasure to encounter over the years.
