My wife and I hired sk7 to re-design our whole house and add a second floor primary bedroom. We had a wonderful experience and are very excited with our new house design! Coming into the project we had no idea what to expect as we have never done this before. Sam laid out how the process works, guided us step by step, and always kept us updated on progress. We did have to slightly change direction because we started to design a midcentury inspired house well out of our budget. After going back to the drawing board, Sam was able to work with us to create a less involved design that was equally appealing. Also while interviewing contractors, they all made remarks about how detailed the plans are and expressed their excitement to work with sk7. We’re very excited to begin the next stage and start construction!

Sam was absolutely awesome to work with... My husband and I bought a 1942 Craftsman that had amazing bones, but needed to be completely re-thought to work in this day and age (imagine a staircase in the middle of everything, about twice as many doors as one could ever need, a lower level that was used as a separate airbnb by the previous owner, etc.). Sam took all of our worries and ideas (add another floor? which walls to knock out? move the staircase?) and came up with so many great ideas that not only opened our entire floor plan, but still respected the good bones we originally fell enough love with. He had just the right ratio of listening to us and offering an opinion (something we really struggled with when we interviewed people for our project). Overall, he is top notch and you will not regret hiring him!

We wholeheartedly recommend working with sk7 design studio. We contacted Sam to design an office addition and an outdoor covered patio / kitchen area in a home we recently purchased that he designed. From the start of the process, Sam was easy to work with and seemed to understand our ideas and wish list for the spaces immediately. The first draft was exactly what we first envisioned. Once we were able to see and talk through the first design we improved upon it a bit and the second iteration ended up being the winner. This was our first experience embarking on a renovation of this size and he made the experience seamless. He was very easy to communicate with, available to us when we needed him to be & pushed through all the necessary approvals in a very timely fashion. We hired sk7 to design a second story addition and kitchen expansion for our early 1970's home and we could not be more excited/happier/thrilled!!! Construction started this week after an enjoyable six +/- months of working with Sam Koob on the design phase through which he was extremely professional and easy to work with. Sam and his team were very creative, intuitive and responsive thru out the entire process, producing multiple options, keeping us on our timeline, yet always patient, answering all questions, sometimes twice. Our resulting "modern prairie" is exactly what we were hoping for and then some!!! We can not wait to see it in real life! Additionally, sk7 navigated our project through the approval process with the City of San Diego, resulting in a building permit in a speedy two +/- months. This was a testiment to not only their knowledge of the system but also having produced thorough and complete plans. We received three separate construction bids and all three companies were extremely complementary of the professionalism, detail and uniquness of the project, each saying it was a builder's dream job. Would we recommend sk7? Yes, yes, 100x yes!

I knew when we bought our fixer upper it would need vision and work!! I had a dream house in mind but wasn't sure how it was going to be achieved within our budget. It seemed overwhelming and impossible to get the house I envisioned. As well, however creative I think I can be, I knew I needed someone that had a bigger vision than me and could keep me on track with a single idea. The first time I talked to Sam I knew he would be a great match for our home. He offered great advice, and help, and wasn't afraid to steer me away from designs that would not accomplish our goals. Sam listened to our ideas and offered his as well. He gave me ease of mind answering questions and guiding me as I have never done this before. In the end he was able to produce a beautiful design for us. Working with Sam was very easy, he was so incredibly patient offering us multiple plans to choose from or changing things around. I always felt like a priority. He produced all his work in a timely manner usually before he promised it. Sam took so many things into consideration like our location, budget, and needs of our family. Everything was done very professionally and many contractors that bid our job were anxious to work with us because of Sam's great reputation as a architect, commenting that his designs were engineered well, professional, had great curb appeal and that they would be honored to build for him. To us that says a lot!!

Sk7 design donated their time and resources on an ADA Master Bathroom for a Service Disabled Veteran in the San Diego region. We Love sk7! Sam and his team at sk7 were recommended to us by a friend after we complemented their remodel. A year later we were fortunate enough to work with Sam on our House. sk7 is very professional and super quick to respond. We would E-mail Sam notes on our plans Friday pm and we would have revisions the same night. Sam made the whole design process not only fun but QUICK! Sam Koob and SK7 Design Studios provided outstanding work for my firm on a very large residential project in San Diego. The project was an 810 unit, multi-family apartment complex. Twelve, five story buildings surround a parking garage allowing residents to park on the same level as they reside. The parking structure has a 105,000 sf foof print with five stories above grade and a subterranean level. Included with the development is a 40,000 Recreation Building which houses the leasing office, along with a bowling alley, gymnasium , spa, event center, commercial food service and other retail areas. Streamline Engineering, my firm, provided the Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing Design, as well as many sustainable features including a photovoltaic covering the top deck of the parking structure. Sam's firm handled the CAD work, as well as plan file management. We never missed a deadline on this fast tracked project! I have hired SK7 on several other projects and will not hesitate to engage with them on upcoming projects!

I hired Sam to draft the plans for a room addition and remodel. I had a hard time finding someone to do a small project. I was lucky to find Sam. He has been excellent and specializes in projects like mine. He has always been professional and efficient. He came up with three different great designs and we chose one and are very happy with it. SK Residential did an outstand job on my Pool House project here is San Diego, California. On the design side I worked with Sam Koob. His ideas were progressive and contemporary . Most architects wanted to just build a mini version on the main house. The look that Sam brought to the table was modern clean look but not over the top so it blends well my traditional style home in the Bay Park area. It adds a totally different feel to my back yard verse the front but each houses complements each other. On the plans and permits side I worked closely with architect Larisa Tingle. This was difficult project to get though maze that is called the San Diego building department. I sat on several meeting with her at the during the plan check process. Her knowledge from previously work for a building department while attending her architectural degree was invaluable. She was outstanding get my project though this process, paying close attention to details that I would have missed. This was positive experience work with these young artisans of architectural
