Quigley Decks

I had a very positive experience working with Tim. He was very knowledgeable about his deck foundation, deckboard and railing options. He was down to earth and easy to work with. After giving him my deposit, I found out that I was unable to proceed with construction. Tim returned my entire deposit, despite me asking him to take something for his time and effort working with me. That kind of integrity was very refreshing, considering I had asked to cancel. I would recommend Quigley Decks to anybody.

Tim is a very experienced craftsman who genuinely cares about his end product and client’s satisfaction. It took a little longer than we anticipated but know it was due to labor shortages. Our decks are beautiful and we couldn’t be happier.

We hired Quigley April 2020 to build a 6x12 foot deck and he quoted us 3 weeks for the install. We therefore did not build the temporary steps from our patio door (which we already purchased the lumber for), but we held off due to the early install date. While we are realistic about rain and contractor time schedules, it took 3 months and many phone calls (mostly unanswered and never replied to) before they began the job. At that point, they built the floor but forgot we wanted surface mounted railings, rather than railings attached to the sides. We therefore have a large gap that would have been covered by the side-mounted railings, but was just left as is and has not been corrected (see picture). Then the crew disappeared. Literally, months later (November), after living with a deck with no railings with preschool age kids, our neighbor raised concern with the city about the safety of a deck with no railings and we discovered that Quigley had not actually even secured the appropriate permits (which were promised in our quote or we would have obtained ourselves). As we were facing a citation from the city, Quigley appeared, unannounced, and very roughly installed some (but not all) of the railings. The work was clearly rushed and the corners are not true. One side of our deck is still missing the privacy wall we were promised, and if it was not for our grill blocking the opening, our children could fall 5 feet off the edge. The stairs also have no rails. Given the history of ignoring the contract we signed, we insist on being present for the final installation and coordinated an install date. Nobody showed up, and again they did not return our phone calls. Roughly 2 or 3 other times this spring, they have since showed up unannounced and said they were installing the deck that day, but obviously we could not take off work with zero notice. We continue waiting for an actual, planned date so our deck is safe and up to code. Best of luck to anyone taking a risk on this company.

Quigley Decks replaced an old rubber roof top deck and installed decking boards and cable railing with lights. Highly skilled craftsmen with great attention to detail. Excellent communication during the entire project. Tim,Travis and crew were very organized, responsible and respectful while working at the job site and cleaned up the area at the end of each work day. It was a pleasure working with them and would definitely use them in future projects. Looking forward to many years of enjoyment on our beautiful deck!

We hired Quigley Decks LLC to replace a very old ground level deck, an easy project we thought. Turned out there was a concrete patio and large stoop to the back door buried under the old deck. Tim quietly took it in stride as he did any question or concern we indicated. We were surprised to see Tim, who owns the company, here working on our deck most days. He has certain rules for his business, including no smoking on the job and no music. We also discovered that everyone we dealt with, in addition to Tim, were all pleasant and willing to answer all our questions as they proceeded with our project Along the front and back edge of our deck, there is a row of boards that run perpendicular to the rest of the deck boards, creating a beautiful finished corner and edge. Rather than leaving the substructure edge board visible, Tim covered it with deck boards beautifully matched to the thick and thin surface design. We quickly realized that these elegant touches are typical of Tim Quigley's work. He put the kind of time and thought into every aspect of the design and construction of our deck that is common on the best indoor woodworking projects. We could not be more pleased with the look and the quality of the new deck and are happy to recommend him.

Quigly Cable Rail product is far superior to other systems I researched. Higher quality and easy to install! My finished product is even more beautiful than I expected! Tim is a masterful craftsman, in my opinion the best one in WI!

We hired Quigley Decks to replace our 25 year old wood decking with Azek decking and aluminum railings. Tim was very knowledgeable, experienced, conscientious and quickly responded to any questions I had. Quigley Decks replaced our old deck and crumbling back steps on our 100yr old house. Tim was knowledgeable and provided good design ideas for our space and we ended up with a great looking deck. We appreciated the written quote guarantee. Our final cost remained as quoted even when unexpected moisture damage caused by the old structures needed to be replaced and extra care taken to prevent future issues. All work was performed efficiently and cleanly. We would certainly recommend Tim and his team.

We continue to be impressed by the craftsmanship and how much easier & safer it is to enter / exit our home. Tim and Travis did an excellent job on our deck, and we would highly recommend them. The attention to detail and the pride in their work definitely are reflected in the final project. We know that we will be enjoying our deck for years to come, and the quality of the work can't be beat.
