Anne was a lifesaver in recommending trim colors for a pair of large residential buildings in Roxbury. The trustees of the condominium had selected trim colors which which were very drab, next to an already drab base color. As an investor owner of a small apartment in one of the buildings I contacted Anne. She recommended lighter colors for the window frames and lintels and entryway to create more visual contrast The end result is a building whose color pops. Anne was very easy to work with. She met several times with other owners and the building trustees as well as guiding us through her thinking, especially, that a greyed white would look better with the base color than pure white. Throughout the process, she was patient, professional and fun to work with. I highly recommend her services.

I hired Anne to help me with the color selection for the exterior of my house. We live in a very large and old Brookline Victorian that needed a lot of love and care to restore. While the interiors took over 3 years to complete, I was quite exhausted and had no vision left for the exterior. We needed to select both colors for siding and trip, as well as roof and shutters. Anne helped me with the entire project, was absolutely fun and was to work with and was very reasonably priced, charging only for the time she spent on the work. Thanks to Anne we have a very welcoming vibe to the home.

Anne Pfaff is a gem! We worked together many years ago and when I began this recent condo renovation did not hesitate to reach out to Anne again. Anne helped choose every color in my condo in a patient and direct manner. We went to the paint store several times in pursuit of just the right color that I would love! (And I love them) Anne even mixed a color of her own for an accent kitchen wall. It is the most beautiful color in the house! I though I had a design concept for the kitchen counter. When Anne entered the gutted space she suggest I think about creating a long continuous counter with an eating area incorporated. I loved idea and Anne and the contractor made the idea a reality. I even put my coffee pot and toaster oven under the counter so as not to interrupt the elegant long line of the counter. Anne’s direction on kitchen tile was spot on. I was thinking of using the same tile in the kitchen as I had in the bathroom until Anne gently asked if I’d like to go to the tile store and look at something else. We chose a lovely “dirty” white textured tile that looks dinamite in the kitchen with the accent tile I had previously chosen. Anne is an artist with educated opinions regarding color, space and design. She is a good listener and was respectful of my opinions through out the process. I trust Anne implicitly!! She is smart, direct and decisive - exactly the qualities one needs in a sometimes overwhelming construct project. I would absolutely work with her again! I repeat, Anne Pfaff is a gem!!

I absolutely loved working with Anne! She was so helpful and a master with color! Because she is an artist FIRST and then a designer, she brings a unique perspective to her work with people. She has a keen eye and really gets color. I would recommend her without hesitation and hire her again in a minute.

I can't recommend Anne highly enough! I spent many weeks trying to pick out colors for the outside of my house and tried at least 8 sample colors. None of them worked. My sister had used Anne and suggested I call her and she gave me terrific ideas and recommendations. She knows the specific colors and how they look once they are on the walls. The exterior of my house worked so well that I then went back to Anne when I was painting the inside of my house. The colors really work well with my furniture and countertops. Her fee is very reasonable for all the time and trouble it saves you-- not to mention the better outcome!

I am the homeowner and an architect. I had just finished rebuilding the wraparound porch and restoring the exterior and was preparing to have the house repainted. Last March 2017, I engaged Anne's services to help guide me and develop a new bold exterior color palette. We looked to the stained glass windows as a source of inspiration for the new color scheme as a way to relate the outside to the inside. Additionally, she took into consideration the colors of the surrounding houses as well as the stone foundation, wood porch and roof, pulling these together in a well-balanced composition. She was creative in the application of the colors on the decorative shingles, the shingle and clapboard siding and various trim elements. Anne provided great value and the house just pops! She is a pleasure to work with and her process is fun and engaging. She truly has an amazing sense of color and its use.

If you're looking for a historic color palette can consult with Anne. She will not steer you wrong. I was stuck with the color yellow because of my Stainglass window. Picking yellow is a very tricky color like red. I was able to get yellow and red in my house and looks fantastic

My wife and I have been slowly renovating a large Victorian house for several years. We had always been unhappy with the existing colors but wanted to hold off painting until the exterior renovations were mostly complete. Over the years we had come to admire the color schemes of several neighborhood houses that Anne had been involved with. When it came time to paint, we were grateful to already have a color consultant in mind. We had some basic ideas of colors we were considering. Anne listened carefully to our ideas, while also applying her own experience and judgment. Anne helped us select a body color by showing us photos and paint chips, driving through our neighborhood, etc. While Anne's help with the body color was extremely helpful, the true value in her involvement quickly became apparent when it came to selecting trim and accent colors. I feel that the importance of this step is frequently overlooked and many people often settle for a trim color that isn’t quite right. With Anne’s involvement, the seemingly endless options were limited to a possible few. The final choice was easy after trying samples outside. Throughout the process, Anne was patient and professional and her ‘eye’ for color was obvious. I am a contractor, so I painted the house myself over several months. I was totally shocked with the quantity of extraordinarily positive complements that were offered by strangers. On numerous occasions, cars would pull over and practically demand to know the names of the paint colors. Now that the painting is complete, we could not be happier or prouder of the results. I have been a professional kitchen designer for over 25 years and recently had the pleasure of working with Anne Pfaff of Pfaff Color Design, building a 2 unit home in Needham, MA. We designed 2 kitchens that combined form and function, beauty and usability. She had an eye for detail and insight into making these kitchens great spaces for family meals, gatherings and entertaining. As the project manager Anne coordinated the design process as well as the various trades people and made the process very smooth. One unit was sold before construction was completed, the second, soon after. We used Anne's design and construction knowledge to think about a difficult problem with the placement of the washer and dryer in our kitchen. We learned that the original plan we had was actually going to be much more expensive and less successful than we had realized, and decided not to go forward with it. So, her knowledge and her honesty actually helped us avoid a costly mistake.
